  1. Scrap the chicken legs and go for easier digested bones, maybe even minced frames. Mine bring up leg bones should they ever get them too.
  2. Could it be hunger? Gus has been known to have a vom when he's really hungry if breakie is late. Maybe something to line the tummy isn't a bad idea? I saw an awesome recipe for sweet potato dog bikkies the other day if you feel like baking.... :D
  3. Agree! Smart = smart enough to know they don't have to do as you ask! I suspect the Shiba is the same though, so I am sure you guys are well versed! Haha.
  4. PM Nekhbet if you have a moment, she always seems to have fabulous advise with things. Don't beat yourself up if he's just not able to rehab though, you have gone absolutely miles above and beyond for this guy. If you want a hand or some respite or anything yell out, we aren't far from you most weekends these days. He can always come for a wander with my idiots if you just need a break. You poor thing, you have had such a crummy run!
  5. I really did think that kid was going to lose a finger for a moment. I've grabbed a ball at the same time Gus did once and those teeth bloody hurt, and a ball is a dang sight softer than a bone. Ugh!
  6. Oh gosh. I love Gus and trust he wouldn't chow down on a baby for stealing his food, but I wouldn't put it to practice. Its an invasion of his space and what if he happened to accidentally chomp down to take the bone back? What if he thinks its a game? Also I don't want any babies fishing around his manky mouth for a manky bone. Yuck! Just silly all over.
  7. Perhaps advising the pounds is a good start? I'm not sure what the pounds do and don't know, I imagine they can't be totally blind to the stuff that goes on, but being deliberately deceptive is a huge breach of trust.
  8. We call that the brown curtain as well. He is the shame of my life, are you sure our dogs aren't soul-buddies or something?
  9. Sardines always do it for my creepers! :)
  10. I come back! Sometimes we get caught without a bag and have to run for the dispenser! Once I had one bag left and I went to pick up and realised the bottom of the bag was missing and I could see through it. ARGH!
  11. Not sure you call 10 Maremma babies and 6 Beagle babies all trying to rip the chrissy presents apart festive - but they sure are cute. That sounds like my dream Christmas, who are you kidding! I hope there's some treats under the tree for your gang! :)
  12. Steve! I didn't know you bred tiny baby polar bears! How festive of you! :)
  13. Might be worth posting in the breed specific threads for the ones you're missing, certainly can't hurt!
  14. We do this with our flat coat too! We play "catch" and Gus literally will hoover the biggest, worst tablets if he thinks it might be something tasty. I love having a silly easy dog! Thank you for sharing. Very appropriate in this thread wherein I have expressed despair and sorrow and trying everything to,help my little dog. I was just sharing a laugh RE feeding tablets, absolutely no need to jump down my throat. It wasn't a reflection of the sympathy I feel in any way shape or form.
  15. Gus eats the chooks poo. Rolling in it would be a waste!

  17. Hi Megs! I have a flat coat. Pop me a message if you like!
  18. We have had picnickers at the dog park too! WHAT WOULD POSSESS YOU?! Hahaha Sounds like Ernie behaved fine. These girls were dropkicks and bogans by the sounds. Gus would have licked the woman on the floor half to death, haha. And if anyone tried to kick him and succeeded I would have no bones about making my feelings known. TBH you should have just called the cops. Enjoy your drinking in public fines, 'ladies'.
  19. Agree RE outside. Gus slept in the laundry for the first few weeks while we were expecting wees overnight, and he slept like an angel. We set up an area in the yard where he could not get into mischief and that was his daytime area. Having said that, we gave him yard access pretty quick. I feel like I might have over-panicked when he was a pup, we cleared any potential hazards and the yard was his domain when we went out. He loves his yard now and happily takes himself outside to sit in the sun. You start out as you mean to continue, if you want him to be happy outside when he is alone, you need to put that in place now.
  20. Not just dogs, kids too. You would have to be a certain kind of special.
  21. Herbert, you horror! I die laughing, Gus did the same thing as a pup with a bee. I thought he was going to go the full Violet Beauregard and turn into a Blueberry!
