I think the issue is that a puppy can look perfect at 8-10 weeks and conform perfectly, but if they develop wrongly or fail to develop from there there's not much that can be done, again, no idea of the legalities, I just know that's a fine line there. However if he was sold on mains and then decided without inspection he was no longer mains worthy then you certainly have something to go on there, I didn't even think of that. Duh.

Perhaps you could chat to some other FC people and/or judges and see what they say? If they disagree it might be worth meeting with her to discuss this with their opinions in writing and ask her to reconsider? I don't think the breeder is under any obligation other than 'product sold is unfit for purpose' there tbh, and as a living thing even that's very, very borderline and perhaps not relevant. In the end it is still her prerogative. I'm sure some breeders will be able to advise you further. I'm just guessing here :D

Mine's only the same age! We'll be bringing a long line just in case (if I can find one that quick!) Cmon! Don't leave me and my clown puppy out on our own! -

So far so good! Have to admit I'm pretty loyal to the natural pet store for food. Deb is just so helpful. Ordered some today and double ordered (dipstick) and she had it fixed within an hour of me doing it. Fabulous! -
You're kidding! I was just dreaming of a shop up when I get home. Cruel!

You gotta do what you gotta do to keep the canines expensive tastes up! Haha. It's a fab job so I don't resent it too much. Oh and speaking of which, I put in a Jumbopets order today, flea stuff and kongs and a Sporn harness each for the kids. Sure there was some other stuff in there but I can't remember. So far so good! -

I work in Mt Waverly at the moment, so I went there on lunch. The work fridge looks slightly like a slaughterhouse...haha. Werribee is good, there's also Melton and Deer park if either of those are easier. The stock varies from store to store the checkout woman was telling me. Perhaps if you're after something specific you'd be best to call ahead and check! -
How did it go? All work out fine?

How exciting! I have no idea what they cost, but the necks were 2 big necks broken down into about 8 parts for $2 and I have a feeling the flaps weren't much more. Definitely worth a look, was all very cheap! -

Congrats Tikira!!!!! It's always a big adjustment but Kira sounds like she's coping better and better. More photos too! I just spent a small fortune in Tasman Meats. We got a few kg's of chicken drumsticks ($2 p/kg!!!!) and some lamb flaps, necks and hearts. Chicken livers, Turkey necks, marked down chuck steak and some pig trotters for good measure. I also got some lamb leg bones, I know they're weight bearing and not ideal but these two make short work of the ends and suck the marrow and leave the rest. Charmers! Also for us I got two little bits of steak for dinner. Priorities! It just works out so fabulously cheap this way! I might get on a soapbox and start preaching. Haha. -

My dogs get the homebrand super cheap one. -
I can vouch for this! Rosie will run around the park at full pelt for 2 hours to wear herself out, but nothing beats half an hour with a puzzle ball or a cardboard box nest with her lunch scattered through it.. Haha. She's a freak. We haven't done much training yet, other than her recall. But I expect that will be the same.

I sincerely hope you both get some reprieve, I'm sorry it had to go like this. I followed your journey from a distance too, you should feel nothing but pride for yourself and Jelly. You both truly did everything you could, and you made the bravest decision of all. Take some time for you and look after yourself for a while.

I've had a vet outright say to me that they prefer to see dogs on the chubby side of average, especially if they are older. Seems stupid to me, but not all vets are the same! I know a lot of people like some weight on their older dogs over winter, but the chubby side of average (assuming healthy=average) sounds vastly different to fatty-fat-fat to me. We have often let our seniors keep a bit on over the colder months, and a lot of the time weight control toward the end is the least of your worries.

Bones For A Puppy Who Inhales Everything?

You forgot to mention only the most expensive or loved sources will do! Bonus points for something new as well!

I feel your pain, drives me mad. We're the same, wouldn't jump on us, knows he gets kneed gently off and ignored until he settles but any other 'friends' are fair game. No one stops him when I ask, it's NOT cute, please don't reinforce my dog's bad behavior. You're making more work for me and will be sorry when he's full grown. I would hate to have to not take him places, thank Dog he's stopped jumping on kids. There was about a week of that before I was on it like a rash and would grab him and grumble if he looked like it, might have to start the same thing with adults...

Raw beginners are absolutely welcome! Just let Prue know when you RSVP via the email address above :) Done and done. I guess if nothing else he's a clean slate. He would just love it though! He's starting to calm down and actually pay attention to me at the park rather than tear around with other dogs like a mad thing, so I guess now would be the time! Thanks for that! Might see you there! -

Ooooh we're interested! What sort of training pre-requisites would be required? Gus is keen but certainly a novice. Haha. -
My mistake, but still strikes me as rude. I wouldn't ruffle feathers unless asked IMO. Is it worth a friendship? I'd be hurt if a friend pointed out I could use a few kilos, no matter how well I know that I could.

Terrors. Ours have been known to raid the bin and take all kinds of things. Hope you've survived the stinky onslaught, bet dogs are just smug!

I'm so jealous! What a fab setup!

We were out at a doggie day out yesterday and met lots of people who said Rosie (the whippet x) is too thin, I think she's in great nick, you can see a few ribs but they're surrounded by a solid layer of muscle, she's very happy and fit and eats like a horse! I can tell you now I had no patience for those people, no matter how well intentioned, as awful as it may be there really isn't any way to make it your business. You don't know their story, or reasons or situation. It just isn't appropriate to comment. Would you tell a person on the street they're too fat or too thin?
