    New Puppy

What breed? I can't seem to see it written ?
  2. And while I support rescue a older dogs. If what you want is a purebred puppy, then go and do it. Don't feel you need to get a rescue or an older dog because people here say so.
  3. My cats loose more fur then the dog does!
  4. I think people think their breed are the best and that is what everyone has to have.
  5. I worked full time when i had my Bull Terrier and had no problems with her although she did have the cat to annoy. It depends; if you can devote a lot of time to the dog when you are home that's the key. If you get home from work and are too tired to walk or interact with the dog then it would be best not to get a dog. I worked 2 jobs when my bull terrier was a pup and later on I was working 4 jobs. Working a full time job doesn't mean you can't own a dog.
  6. When you say guard dog, do you mean a dog that will attack anyone it doesnt know, or a dog that will just stand up and bark and maybe step in if something bad is happening? I think a lot of people get their backs up about the use of the word guard dog as they think most people mean a dog that will attack on command.
  7. I hate the if you work full time you shouldn't get a puppy comments , if that was the case there would be a lot of dogs looking for a home I've always worked a full time job and a part time job (for 14 years) was living alone when I got my dogs as pups. I still managed to train them and teach them. Just as many thousands of other people have done as well. To the OP. If you are seriously looking at a bully, just be warned they are very pigheaded and can be hard to train
  8. There are heaps of bull terriers in rescue at the moment! They look scary but are usually sooks. I would get people crossing the street when I was walking my boy, he would have licked them to death !
  9. I was told this by WIRES, that we could only kill them if they attacked first
  10. Thank you for the tip Sheena. I would love to host dogs in my home but i don`t have that opportunity. From what I`ve seen from this site, the dogs go to the hosts homes. Do you kow of any organisations where the carer would go to the dogs homes? Lots. I've been pet sitting for 12 years. Animals stay at their own home and I call in to look after them. There are people who will also live in your house while you are away too
  11. Juices dogs :) Mine are also older dogs who have left.
  12. I'm just having a facebook fight with someone (because there is nothing else to do while holding a sleeping baby!) And everyone is saying they can smash a window and not get in trouble. (I'm not arguing about that side of things, I would happily get charged If I had to do it to save a dog, I was just curious)
  13. Can someone tell me if it's legal to smash a window to get a dog out of a car?
  14. She is on their facebook page. Unless there are two Cindy's out there!
  15. Mine all got dents in them and I couldn't shut the lids! I'm using plastic bins I got with dry food. I think one is optimim and another euk. They last pretty well and stack on top of each other (one has cat food one dog food )
  16. I have had family members not be able to sit with them. I've always offered to go in and it's always been accepted. Growing up my parents never let me, but as soon as I could make my own choices I have always been there when possible (had one die over night at home and atlas died on the table while they were working on him) I understand why people can't and don't hold it against them. I've seen people pass away and have always regretted being there, I hate that that was my final memories of them
  17. I'm so sorry We lost our girl this year to it. It's a horrible thing
