  1. I always buy close to use by or past use by food. It's very rare for me to get food that has a date left on it. I'll take it if you don't want to use it! Lol Hit send too soon. We mark close to useby food down but there is always a chance we miss a bag here or there
  2. How would you know if your dog is capable of doing this? My dog is great with people, but as far as I know I've never had someone jump in my yard or under my fence, how does anyone know how their dog would react? As for the child. My 2 year old knows to ask to pat dogs and never go near one without an adult.... But kids are kids, put them with other kids, they are excited and don't listen... It's just a horrible accident. I don't believe anyone is at fault
  3. I found the more I felt sorry for my surviving dog the worse she got. I took her back to her exact same routine she was used to, no extra cuddles, no extra inside times etc and within 2 days she was back to normal
  4. 11 year old dog goes 6pm-7am usually. I'm go and down all night so have found the odd night she'll ask to go out while I'm getting a drink but not often.
  5. I was never interviewed for my dogs. I called, met dog, paid and took pup home

3 years... Time goes way too fast
  7. Thanks guys After she went the vet said she only had days before the lumps on her neck would have cut her breathing off totally. It's very weird at mum and dads now
  8. No issues with it at all. You can always find a pet sitter to come around morning or night. My girl was home alone last night and probably again tonight and was OK I also used to work 4 jobs and one was night shift, so they had no choice
  9. Yep. It's something that has to be done. Get in there, do it firmly but gently and get it over and done with.
  10. I see it at work all the time. People coming in with their new dog for collars etc. I find out at some point the dog was found and they just kept it. Makes me sick
  11. I've lost a lot of clients because I won't take their dog off lead!
  12. Depending on who it is. I usually just take Kaos outside (or if we are outside put her in my room with the door shut) she is pretty full on and the truth is, i dont trust most people! It means i can relax and not worry about her and know she is safe!
  13. It sucks hey? I was offered a pup when pregnant with my son, then another when pregnant this time! It was sooooo hard to say no but looking back... I am so glad I did.
  14. Once a day. Dry food and meat or a big bone. She is used to getting fed at any time, so no issues till 6pm then she let's me know I forgot her! Most days she gets done as soon as I wake up
  15. Ditto. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have been in and out of hospital, bad HG and can hardly walk due to my hips and pelvis playing up. I've even had to finish work early and can hardly look after my son. A puppy would have been a nightmare (and I was offered a puppy a few months ago and said no) You don't know how the pup will be or how the pregnancy will go. I couldn't do it. But congratulations!
  16. This is what I want mum and dad to do. They just lost their old dog and due to their age are worried another dog will out live them. Will pass it on but doubt they will say yes
  17. Weatherbeta dog costs and a choice of kennels. I actually just put the cat run up and there was a little spot I could stick a kennel, I can never get her out of it now! She loves hanging with the cats. Kennels all have the entry facing the house to stop the wind, I want another one for down the side of the house where we have a really narrow gap we can't do anything with, thinking this will be nice and cool for summer. I also have 4 tramp beds in different locations in the yard so she can follow the sun when it's out.
  18. My dogs have always been out in the yard when I'm not at home. Since now only having the one who does not destroy everything, I'll sometimes.let her in if weather is bad. But now she is older she can't hold her bladder as long so usually she is outside. I'm.in.maternity leave now, but when I go back we'll put baby gates to block the kitchen and a dog door so she can come and go - I just need to sort how to keep the cats from going out!
  19. Green with envy! She just needs to learn to mow it now!
  20. I got kaos' crate out for the first time in ages and she was over the moon, I can't get her out of it now! As for toilet training, there is no point getting annoyed others have better luck. 2 puppies was always going to be hard.... I've had both, so yes, sometimes it is just the dog gets it easily Atlas was trained in 2 weeks and never had one accident inside. Kaos. Well she took months and was in her crate or the yard if I couldn't watch her as she would just pee anywhere. She was about 18 months before I let her have unsupervised access to the house. Each dog is different
