  1. Yes... Im a good guesser I tried to get my dog to put someting in a bucket and bring it back to me, but was having trouble with it - so i went for 2 B's. Much easier!!! Good luck
  2. i dont use collars, i know a few people who have come home to find one dogs jaw stuck around the other dogs collar, very lucky to have caught it before something bad happened
  3. my dogs were both left alone for 9 hours each day when i first got them while i was at work You are talking about 3 hours in the morning, and 2.5 in the afternoon. Pup will prob just sleep the whole time, i wouldnt be stressing at all. My dogs are now home 10 - 12 hours when i am working, they both are fine
  4. I have some cat flaps and i love them - one is from the laundry to the kitchen, all the cats stuff is in the laundry and i was sick of having to keep the dogs out, and then in winter it was freezing in the house! So i put the cat flap in and it solved all my problems! Dogs cant get in to get the food, cats can come and go as they like, and the house is WARM!! I also have one going out into their cat run. Wish i had a set up so the dogs had a room they could come into during the day, but my unit isnt set up for that
  5. Atlas was about 11 weeks - i think i was the same, i was still taking him out, even though he probably didnt need to go! Can you install a doggie door? Then pup can come and go as he pleases, and the house and laundry will stay warm?
  6. just want to say, Atlas has a thing about being woken, if he is in a deep sleep and something startles him, he will jump up and snap and growl, he has done it since a puppy, i just make sure when he is asleep he is away from people usually put him in his room, or leave him on the other lounge, if i have people over, he is crated
  7. My dogs get vegies, as do many at my work, most of them graze on grass. Atlas LOVES carrots, but will still go outside and chew up grass
  8. Just had an thought! Nic, Lofty has a clam shell in her back yard, she filled it with soil and grass seeds, could you do something like this? then stick a bucket in the shower, and the water can get tipped on it and help it all grow?
  9. I have cat grass i got from bunnings ages ago, it is for the cats, but both dogs will munch on it when they are inside. Not sure how it would go, mine are only in little pots that get rotated every few days.
  10. no fair, my mum never got me a puppy... (ok, she did give me a kitten... but i wanted one of each )
  11. Atlas has alump on his leg, i have had 3 different vets look at it, and all have said to let it go, it annoys him time to time, but then he gets over it. Vet said if it gets much bigger they will take it off, but dont want to knock him out just for that (if he goes under for something else they will remove it) Was told if the top comes off i will have a hell of a time stopping the bleeding, but i can bandage it and let it be will try to get a photo it isnt a good photo and it looks worse there than in real life
  12. i find pet barn to be a huge rip off and never go there. i get my meat from the butcher, or the pet meat shop in town or the fresh meat guy (add in the DOL listings)
  13. kaos can put her head in a bucket I havent used this method of training before, but now she can do that... not sure when it will ever come in handy... but you never know

    Puppy Problem

Atlas does it in winter, nothing like a warm meal
  15. In the last bull terrier litter my boss had, there was one bitch who was just that, a bitch, she would push all the pups out of the way, i actually wanted to call her Hummer! She would just put her head down and push till she got where she wanted, didnt matter who was in the way She would also always finish eating first, then she would burrow under all the other pups so they fell off mum and all cry, getting mum to get a bit upset and us trying to get them back on for a drink, while she rolled over to her back and went to sleep!! She is 6 months old now, and the most laid back gentle pup! We all thought she was going to be a handful! but she is great!
  16. i think it depends on your current dogs. I couldnt have a 3rd, my 2 dogs get along well most of the time, but both have their problems a 3rd wouldnt make life any easier at all But if i had 2 laid back dogs, i would probably think about it!
  17. i do it every 4 weeks, one dog gets one tablet, the other half
  18. i sedated the wrong dog once i dropped the tablet and kaos got it, was a very boring night with both my dogs knocked out!
  19. Our kennels need a C5, but if you did the Tetre, you can still get the Canine Cough part of the vaccination?
  20. ohh!! yay!!! Im so glad to hear he got to go for a walk!! he must be so happy!!
