  1. I'm not a breeder or have any entire animals, but reading this thread makes me wonder WHY the ordinary person wouldn't desex their animals?!? I know in this case the bitch is on breeders terms and I'm not talking about that... more so just your average Joe who refuses to desex their dogs. Really? who could be bothered with all that! My hats off to all the breeders out there! its an awful lot of work.
  2. I loved everything about my Dalmatian puppy, got him at 8 weeks, never had an accident inside, never chewed anything he wasn't supposed to.... no barking at night... just an absolute dream to have.
  3. Yay! thats great news... but how on earth are you going to sleep tonight?
  4. Can you even imagine the horror of discovering your pet like this? let alone it even happening in the first place I hope they find the mongrels responsible.

    Cold Puppy

I have made little doggy jumpers out of a childs old jumper or track pants. just cut off the arm of the jumper ( or leg of the pants) and the wrist part of the sleeve with the cuff becomes the neck then just cut some holes in the bottom part to allow for front leg holes, then the rest of the arm covers the body. Cheap, effective and you can have a few on the go at once!
  6. I have a 13 year old Dally & a new baby Dally. I have had a few growls from the older dog towards the Pup when he is getting sick of puppy play. Its the way the pup learns correct doggy manners and how much is too much. I have found that although the old boy will growl when he has had enough, he won't hurt the baby... its enough for the warning growl to let the pup know to back off. Perhaps bring your two together under tight supervision and let them work it out together.
  7. Benji has had 2 of his vaccs, due for the 3rd on the 27th of December. I have taken him on lots of car rides, gotten out of the car at school a couple of times but his feet never touched the ground and he didn't see any other dogs. I have taken him on a play date to another dally owners home whose dogs are fully vacced, and to my MILs home who hasn't had a dog for a couple of years but the dog she had was always vacced. I think its about making smart informed choices, not hanging around high traffic areas, not allowing them to sniff random poo. just being careful.
  8. that sky is so pretty, I would love to see the Aurelius Borealis one day... I would imagine it to be similar.
  9. I've been reading along each day, and am so happy at the gains Bonnie has made She is a beautiful dog, and secretly.... I am hoping you keep her!
  10. Sounds like he is doing fantastically with his training.... OF YOU!!! LOL
  11. WOOHOO!!!!!! Yay for no more morning gauntlets!
  12. Benji is 10 weeks old, and keeps ducking under our MALE Dalmatian looking for a drink :/ I laugh when I see him doing it, but the old Dally isn't laughing!
  13. They have a great set up! heated water, and soap on tap... all the things you need ;) I see them at most of those carwash set ups with the auto carwashes & bays to hydrolically (?) wash your car.
  14. I bath Benji (a dalmatian) in the Laundry Trough... but he is only 10 weeks old! However I also have a full grown Dally, and have taken him to those dog baths they have at Car washes, he loved it and they have a blow dryer attached as well so you could dry Hank off before putting him back in the car.
  15. Cute little Frenchies :D I also love the upright ear! She will be looking like her big sister in no time! I am having such a ball with Benji, he is growing so.... so fast, will be a real Dalmatian in no time at all! I expected a much harder time than I am having, Toilet Training is pretty much worked out to the point that he will take himself outside to toilet then bring himself back in! Nothing is getting chewed or wrecked, he sticks to his own stuff.... sleeping from around 8pm til 7.30am. Just such a beautiful placid boy. Here he is today at 10.5 weeks
  16. such a thoughtful gift, and so beautifully presented too!
  17. I have nothing constructive to add, only that I think she is adorable <3 I really hope her transition from PF to much loved dog is easy for both her and you x
  18. I just might find a new Vet, this same Vet lectured me about the size of my Ragdoll cat. A typical adult male raggie should be around 10 kilos when full grown, my boy was 8.5 kilos ( and well balanced) and the vet was on his high horse about his weight! I, again just smiled and nodded. But yes, time for a new Vet I think! Benji had a little bit of Diarrhea last night too, but the vet checked him over and said he was fine, and it had all resolved this morning. I spoke with my breeder this morning and told her he was weighing in at 7.8 kilos. She told me that benji was the runt of the litter and was born 3 hours after his siblings! I knew he was special! Nice little Gain for Nala! they will be all grown up sooner than we know it!
  19. Why are humans so bloody stupid and pig headed? Its bad enough that humans capture or breed wild animals to be kept in cages, but then to be so stupid as to treat them so disgustingly as well?? Why for the love of God don't they hand them over to a Western Zoo so they can get all the help they need to survive? I have not, nor will ever travel to Indonesia in any capacity. This only adds to my disgust.
  20. Being the responsible one sucks sometimes, Jessie knew she was loved in the end... no matter what her start was xxx
  21. Benji has just run off with one of my Thongs... and a very cheeky look on his face! LOL funny I should come in here and read about stealing puppies! We have just returned from the Vet for his 9 week vaccs. He is perfectly healthy But I got lectured to the hilt! Shouldn't be feeding the food the breeder recommends.... shouldn't ever give dogs raw chicken necks or wings.... shouldn't ever leave the yard, except for puppy school until after 12 weeks ( that includes car trips where he never gets out of the car!) Oh and I feed my Ragdoll cats Royal Cannin food, but my breeder said RC has too much Protein in it for Dalmatians, so not to feed it to Benji because Dallys have a tendency to form kidney stones with too much protien! The Vet said, oh no... RC is the best food for Dalmatians *eye roll* I spent alot of time smiling and nodding, but I will be following my breeders instructions along with other more knowlegeable Dally owners thanks! LOL turned into a bit of a rant there! Sorry ;)
  22. I posted earlier about my old Dalmatian, here he is almost 14 years old.... very slow and going blind. We keep him calm and quiet, and give him plenty of love.
  23. My little Benji likes to run and hide behind my legs when something is too loud. I don't make a fuss of him, and sook him up... but I just let him sit behind my legs until he feels a bit braver. Is it bad that I get a bit of a kick out of him doing that? a bit like he KNOWS I am his Mummy :D Here is my treasure today, I can't believe how much he has grown just in the week and a half since he has been home with me!
