  1. He's so keen to get to those boxes! Go justice go!
  2. I would pay to go on a holiday to pick them out. Those videos are addictive to watch. Lol me too! But then I have considered getting a Crestie simply so I can squeeze its blackheads... I was about to accuse you of being gross and then I remembered that I sometimes pick dried snot from the corners of my dog's nose (with a tissue though!) so yeah.. people in glass houses and all that Love a good abscess Or a sebaceous cyst!! They are the bomb!! And now I'm reminded how Dol is full of my people!
  3. There's a lot of staffies and amstaffs in my area, which is a lower socio-economic area but also a few retrievers, swfs, Spaniels and bitsas. I know of a couple of greyhounds as well. Personally I like medium-large dogs but I'll be leaning towards either a smaller pup or a Gap hound for our next dog. I know our housemate will be getting a retriever or a American Bulldog for his pup after Dozer is over the bridge.
  4. That's an impressive series of wins! Very proud of you both!
  5. It sounds like the BAT 2.0 is really great for the two of you! I'm a bit concerned with Dozer.. He was fine before we went out to the gold coast for a couple of hours yesterday morning and when we got home his whole demeanour had changed.. He's back to being a limpet/Velcro dog, and wouldn't get off my lap for about 10 minutes yesterday when I needed to put a dirty plate in the dishwasher that was next to me and he didn't even look at it.. When I finally got him to move, he came and sat on my foot, literally on it. He didn't race to the door to greet the housemate when he got home from work and this morning he was basically hiding behind me when OH was trying to get him to sit on his bed prior to releasing him to his food hunt for breakfast.. I'm not Dozer's favourite person, the boys are and have always been much much higher value than I and he doesn't want to have anything to do with them.. I'm worried that either the construction noise from a street away spooked him or possibly a male next door had a big shouting match (he hates raised voices).. *sigh* It just feels like one step forward, a dozen steps back with him at the moment. Eta: just put his coat on him and he's now asleep on my lap.. I want to get up, but he's asleep.. I just realised that he might be picking up on some of my stress related to some medical stuff, but I still think it's a bit of an extreme reaction
  6. On, I forgot we had another noise related win on Tuesday. Oh was mowing the lawn and while dozer was a bit scared, he wasn't his usual barnacle level of scared, and he managed to walk past the switched off vacuum cleaner! Dozer even went and checked out the mower through the windows. I'm very proud of my scaredy cat dog this week. He's also continuing to use his crate when he doesn't get his own way, like when I didn't lift up the couch blanket for Mr Precious. it's a nice change to being slowly pushed off the couch as he stretches..
  7. Naaaw Snook I'm crying again! Such a wonderful pupdate with Gruf and such progress! Happy 6th GotchaDay BlueHealer! Eta: dozer is currently giving me the cold shoulder in his crate after I kicked him off the spare bed. I'm stoked he's back to choosing to go in his crate.
  8. Dozer is the same Lisa! Huge tiled areas in half the house, and he goes and throws up on the spare mattress in a bedroom with carpet, when there was a tiled vanity area , toilet and bathroom three steps away! I just scrape it off and use dishsoap and a vinegar spritz.
  9. Eeeeeeeeee! Oooh my goodness, he's adorable Eza!
  10. Mr Tc suggested this morning our next dog should be a greyhound, it's only taken three years for him to get on board with hounds.. I can't gather the right words together to express how worried I am for the breed in NSW, and am hoping for more clarification on pet greys.
  11. He's lovely, Bluehealer! I get the impression he's a bit of a softie with his people, but that could just be from his beautiful warm eyes.
  12. Dozer's being his unpredictable little self and has recently gone back to hating his crate.. So the crate fairy has been visiting with kibble to make his crate awesome again, and it's just the cutest thing to watch him prance through the house checking his crate every few minutes. Dozer has also been getting better with random loud and new noises (better than me, I'm a wreck with weird noises home alone), and is recovering quickly even when I'm jumping at every sound.
  13. Snook that's amazing! Someone has got to be cutting onions or something because my eyes were leaking a little reading how far Justice has come!
  14. Oh wow! I'm glad your pups are ok. I've got a huge one of these in our yard, and it's the only shrub Dozer doesn't tear branches off.. I think I'll be having a chat with OH tomorrow about fencing it off, as I don't think the landlords would be very happy if we removed it.
  15. Chiengora is what's it's known as in the spinning and fibre arts community. It's still a bit wacky for me, and I'll stick to spinning more normal materials.. Mainly because staffy doesn't spin well :p
  16. Dozer has recently figured out that if he really really stretches he can lick food that's been left in the middle of the kitchen bench, which was previously out of reach. I went back into the kitchen after dinner one night and he'd eaten all the mac and cheese any most of the creamed spinach off one of the plates for the housemate and his girlfriend.
  17. Omg! Why does Melbourne get all the awesome stuff.. That sounds like the perfect getaway for us and the very dog unfriendly dozer.
  18. I'm so sorry for your loss. I too enjoyed Benny's story and he quickly stole my heart through your posts.
  19. I can say that sharing a bed with dozer is much more disruptive than sleeping with my snoring partner! Dozer pushes me off the bed, hogs the blankets, snores and grumbles if he's not completely covered.. That said, I love my day time naps with dozer
  20. I was about to suggest Jane Harper as well! I've heard such great things about her.
