  1. I was very glad to see another RSPCA promotion reducing the adoption prices of their cats and kittens. Hopefully the recent changes over the past 12 months will be reflected in their euthanasia rate, it would appear that all of the bad press they have gotten is forcing some change. Hopefully working in a real way with rescues will also eventuate rather than just talking about it. http://www.rspcansw.org.au/campaigns/Half_the_price_All_the_love
  2. He has contacted GRR and is taking Annie to the vets tomorrow so that he has uptodate health info. This is the gorgeous Annie.
  3. I have been contacted by someone wanting to rehome a "spritely" 15yo female Golden Retriever. I am waiting for a photo and more details. Anyone have room for a golden Oldie? Owners are said to be moving overseas.
  4. somersby rspca has a female 6yo shih tzu available soon, seems very sweet and lived with an elderly owner. cant tell you any more atm. can send you a pic, the shelter will have more info when she is officially available
  5. I was just thinking why reinvent the wheel. I have messaged RSPCA NSW and asked about them starting a similar service for NSW. I wont hold my breath but it doesnt hurt to ask.
  6. That is a good set up, I wonder if Petrescue etc would support doing something like that on a State by State basis. I have no idea what it would cost an individual to set up and run a similar site. ETA My local council has no interest in setting up a proper pound website let alone one for lost and found animals.
  7. It would be good, but at least this will help those who are on facebook. i didn't mean it as a criticism... but just that it's such a great idea it'd be good if lost & found sites could be open to non-Facebook members, too. So If anyone has connections with these sites .... please ask them to open them up, like the Adelaide one. Not taken as one. It would be great if all of the groups were as easily accessible as the Adelaide one. I am not up with the ins and outs of webpages so I guess there must be a reason why they choose one style over another. Maybe easier to moderate and keep spammers out?
  8. It would be good, but at least this will help those who are on facebook. It is also good that our area is so proactive on microchipping. Regular free chipping days plus $5 chipping all year round at one of the pounds. :D Fixed :)
  9. I love how some of the lost and found groups on Facebook have been so effective in getting animals home quickly. In some cases lost then found and home again in less than an hour. 10. Sounds like you are the rescue but she is getting to take all of the credit for your work. Maybe rescue under your own name or join another group.
  11. It might be that you are unwell that has upset things. Dont feel guilty, they will settle into their new routines soon enough. Happy owner happy poochies.
  12. before you do anything else you should go into your local post office and check there in case you missed a collection card.
  13. Has she been eating small or cooked bones? She may be having something sharp making its way through her system.
  14. hell better use an axe and the silver bullets just to be sure.

  16. At least she has contacted you! Who-ever left Buddy should be sacked immediately............... Then this horrible event was no accident. It is forseeable what the result of leaving him there like that would be.
  17. I am so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful soul. He is at peace now.
