  1. Week 3. Sasha. This little girl just broke my heart. Scared but still there is so much hope in her eyes.
  2. My pick this week. Not a great photo but he was soo proud of his toy. "Dressage....... with toy" This is Benji. 2yo male Jrtx. Loves people, other dogs and toys.
  3. Can I join in too? I would like to do "52 weeks of my pet/pic of the week" They will either be my favourite animal or photo from the animals from RSPCA Somerby. Link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/32021554@N04/...57625743491422/ This week I cant go past Mickey, cute as a button and just as sweet.
  4. I was told in earnest by a jrt owner the other day that her dog ocassionally faints (out cold for 5 minutes) when she is excited "but its ok because my vet said it is normal and little dogs do that" WTF . Errr, no.
  5. I remember the beautiful Pepper. Thankyou for bringing her joy and happiness. RIP sweet girl.
  6. 29 fraud charges for Coast dog breeder Leah Fineran | September 28th, 2010
  7. IMO we wont stop the waste of animals lives until we slow down the rate that they are being born. Wyong pound has implemented an important desexing program for owners picking up their strays. Instead of the owner paying just full registration ($150) plus impounding fees they are offered the option of a desexing and registration package with is actually less than the cost of just releasing the animals. This program alone has the ability to substantially change the amount of unplanned/byb litters in this shire.
  8. Rat poisoning is deadly, if it is suspected then you need to take fast action. http://petcare.suite101.com/article.cfm/ho...aten_rat_poison edit. not as fast acting as I thought, but by the time there are symptoms then the animal is likely to be in critical condition.
  9. If it is really too soon for you Jed, then go back to hospital. Just turn up at ED if you need to. Dont discount respite, it is usually just a sub-acute hospital generally. Once of the places that I work is a Continuing Care Hospital. You will get better access to Allied Health if you need them and importantly your pain relief can be monitored and adjusted to keep you as comfortable as possible.
  10. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your gorgeous Tina girl. Hugs to you both.
  11. I would put him on pain relief and if that helps then the next step is to find the cause. Might just be a soft tissue injury that will resolve with rest.
  12. I thought it was hilarious since the pup kept on biting him because it wanted to be put down. Hopefully this example of a DD will make a few people reconsider them as not the "perfect" dogs they are made out to be.

  14. Since she was chipped in NSW her details will be on the NSW Companion Animal Register, which isnt much use for you now she is in Victoria. You will need to registered her microchip with a registry that is Australia Wide and/or a registry that is most appropriate for your area.
  15. It must be the week for it. My brush with stupidity this week involved a walk along a busy road. My personal Twat was "walking" her entire male offlead while she pelted along on her mobility scooter. Thankfully we were near a corner so as soon as I saw her dog posturing and hackling up my sister took my boy around the corner while I stood guard in between. Thankfully the distance was enough to defuse the situation but If I had allowed them to pass by it would have gotten nasty. Plenty of fools around atm.
  16. Well that makes me feel better that the dogs arent in danger from them. I have lived on the coast for years and this is the first time I have seen one in my yard or house. I think it must have actually crawled onto Bart while he was asleep.
  17. My heart is still racing. I was engrossed in my computer when my dog Bart started bouncing and leaping around beside me. Bart usually sleeps under my computer chair. I looked down expecting to see a lizard when I spotted a male funnell web spider not 10cm from my foot. So now we have captured a new resident for the reptile park and I will be insect bombing the house and yard tomorrow. Sorry spidey's, love you but I cant risk more Funnell Webs. Thank god Bart wasnt bitten, there will be extra chicken necks for him tonight.
  18. What a beautiful young man, he is going to be absolutely magnificent when he is mature. It must be so different for you to have an agile young'un about the place. I am so happy for you.
  19. I am sorry your grandfather is missing. When I heard which nursing home he was missing from my heart was in my mouth due to the river, but if he has been sighted at the Station then that is a good thing. I hope he is found safely and quickly.
  20. Well if people would just stop PMing them..... LOL
  21. Thanks guys, Dol is such a great place where you can share with people who REALLY do understand. Some pics of Tammy. Her first day home from the pound. She was such a mess but that character was there from day 1. Tammy's favourite activities - eating. She loved to parade around with her choice bits of food so all of the other dogs were jealous. I have known her to hold a single piece of kibble in her lips for hours. It would just sit there poking out of her mouth, so funny. This is Tammy blissing out with a chicken neck. LOL. So many good memories.
  22. There is also the "golf cleaning" version for $5 less from the same store. http://www.mytoolstore.com.au/dremel-76004...-tool-p-33.html comes with a nifty bag. I have had one of these for about 3 years.
  23. RIP my girl. Tammy has been a part of my life for the past 3 years. An Ex Blacktown pound girl who was surrendered at the age of 9yo. Weighing in at an imposing 4.1kg she was a Pekingese girl who ruled the roost here, even my 50 kg rotty knew it. You leave a huge hole my fluffy terrorist. Her big heart gave out last night. Sweet dreams.
  24. Beautiful, Beautiful tribute.
