  1. We have been using a product called MalAcetic Otic which is an Ear/Skin Cleanser. By DermaPet www.dermapet.com If you use metho dilute it first with water then gradually build up to full strenfth. I found that using metho made the inside of the ears hard and leathery. I am really impressed with the Dermapet product I use it all the time now. Chris
  2. Hi Natalie, I have no problems with coming to Ballarat as my son lives there. I also have a Vito Van so if anyone else is interested that lives between Ballarat and Portland.
  3. I have 2 table spoons in water every morning, this controls my blood pressure with out medication. As I said also good for many other reasons too. This is just a joke but I saw a yellow truck today it had RACV on it. Could this be the real source of ACV ?????????????? PS I loves blonde jokes
  4. We use ACV all the time internally and externally. Two teaspoons in bowl of water all the time detoxifies your dogs system, boosts energy levels, acts as a natural weight loss by making the digestive system more efficient. Makes the dog less palatable to fleas and ticks etc. We also use it on dogs that have rashes etc. It is also good for humans too in treating high blood pressure, gout, arthritis, lowers colesterol and can benefit Diabetics. Fantastic stuff but do get the good double strength with the mother (sediment) as the other cheaper brands from supermarkets have been pastureised and are not as effective but better than none. Cheers Chris

  9. Never seen turkey necks on sale here at all around Portland area. But now I'm going to see if I can access them. Several poultry places etc in South West Vic.
  10. PAM PAM PAM PAM BLOODY PAM VETS don't always work for every one. PAM = Piss And Moan
  11. May I suggest to all that bath the dog in the shower or bath. :p That you be prepared for the enevitable drain blockage!!! Been there done that Good idea to have one of those hand held extension claws available from hardware or auto stores as they will go down a plug hole to the "S"bend and clear it. Love some of the prices you get your dogs done for but I have noticed it really depends on where you live basically as to how much it costs. I often get people say it only cost say $20 in sydney why is it say $35 here. Well the climate is different and it takes longer to dry the dog. More effort or more expensive equipment needs to be used etc. I actually got told I was a rip-off by the mother-inlaw of a groomer down here. Funny that as their prices wound up more than mine and now they have closed up. Chris
  12. Learnt the hard way acquired a Saint. My Grandmother passed on and left me a bit of money with a wish that it was used for something useful. So I bought a plastic handi bath finished off restoring my old ute and went on the road N.E. Victoria washing and grooming. Then started clipping using manehogging shears to get dogs out of trouble.Bought new dryer liberty ultra force took less space than the 40 or so towells I had to carry. Then aquired a set of Oster A5 clippers. At that stage there was only one other Mobile service between Melb and Syd and he was in Albury and operated from a combi van. We both worked hard but the benefits were there. I also started to carry pet supplies with me that led to me opening a shop (disaster struck) three weeks after the shop opened Win TV,programe called Money,by Paul Clitherow came on and said good way to earn $10 is wash dogs Mobile. Well takings all of a sudden dropped to $50/$150 per week. 18 mobile units now on the scene between Benalla and Holbrook. With the dogwashing to support the shop gone I went out the back door fast. When we finally moved to Portland in 1999 my son went and bought another saint after I had sold all of my equipment. After a bad experience in bathing him at a local boarding kennel new gear was ordered that night and here I am again.
  13. Could this be caused by some kind of hormone problem. Don't know much about it personally but someone else may well be able to shed some light on the subject. I have noticed that using malaseb too long actually exasperates the problem rather than cure. What I used to do in that case was try T-GEL shampoo with good results. Cheers Chris
  14. Don't worry too much about me had a shit of a fortnight blowing off steam. Involved in Bad Truck Smash but still no excuse.Sorry!
  15. So Vets are perfect and chiro's no nothing. sorry for suggesting someone save some money and get it right for a change. Qualified chiro's do diagnose problems and I would trust one before a hit and miss VET!!!! Easy to see wher you get your dollars from.
  16. I like to use both the dremell and the scissor type clipper in different sizes to suit the job at hand. if necessary finish off with an emery board. Chris
  17. If your dog is limping have you taken it to a "dog chiro". Our saint had a problem that cost us $100's at the vet no improvement. $20 at a dog chiro and well dog came good. Not knowing where you live ask some greyhound people if they can recomend someone. I personally recomend Gary Parson's if you are in Warrnambool area. Chris
  18. this may be too late but when you mix your salt water solution. test it by dabbing a little in the corner of your eye, if it stings its too strong. this was how a vet told us to do it.
  19. years ago we had freinds that actually stole a dog from an abbatoir. she was chained up all the time and had had puppies she was only fed what ever came from the meat works as scrap and was given the same quality of water too. she absolutely stunk from the enviroment she lived in, I mean inside and out it was repulsive ! I bathed her about seven times over 2 days before it started to fade but the smell lingered at my place for days after she went. then we found the string collar hanging on our fence that was used to tie her up. Hence the old saying you are what you eat. her skin problems came good with proper care and feeding and was placed in a loving and caring enviroment where she finally enjoyed life. Chris
  20. I have recently bought a new dryer,Blades,Set of Furminators and shampoo from them. As usual the service is exceptional, delivery and conformation of order fantastic. They set a good example that many others would benefit from. Chris
  21. 20 litres of olive oil is ok I'd be more worried if they had 200 packets of jelly crystals and a portable swimming pool. seriously though what sort of floor was put down ?? if it is timber it might be able to be cleaned with vinegar or oxalic acid. if it is particle board and not waterproof its buggered.
  22. Kitkat maybe you will share that email adddress that they will respond on !! Maybe the info oof the wrapper was not valid
  23. We were given a sample of uncle albers our dogs went ballistic over it. so we tried to get some, well you would have to be joking. sent all the e-mails etc no reply. seems its some two headed S.A. company that don't know they have a good product. hope my sarcasism gets some response. because I mean it looked like something good. chris
  24. Kyeesha saw lady today and she said start time is 9.45am for regulars and 10.45 for newby's and puppies etc. They are looking forward to meeting you. Cheers chris
