  1. My concern is that without an autopsy, a case for negligence is hard to prove.
  2. Thank you. Do you have her contact details? She is listed as a breeder on Dogzonline.
  3. Although it wouldn't bring Harley back, I'd suggest getting an autopsy anyway and most certainly would not get the vet who performed the surgery to do it as it is a conflict of interest.
  4. If you're unsure about taking the dog to the RSPCA is there another pound you could take it to, one that allows adoption directly from the pound?
  5. Very pleased to hear Kayla is doing better. How are you doing?
  6. As I understand it, not in Victoria, where the identification is visual and not based on DNA.
  7. Just had a thought: is it the house he isn't allowed to go near or is it the dogs? Obviously isn't a person if the house is empty.
  8. To resolve the issue, perhaps the man can get a letter from the solicitor stating someone can go to the house to walk the dogs. I think it peculiar that the man cannot go to an empty house to take care of his dogs but something from the lawyers should resolve the concern.
  9. The main thing I say to Mini during winter is, 'You're hogging the hot!' cos her favourite spot is in front of the heater. Of course, I don't have Grumpy now so I'm not sure what I'll do without my thermal terrier at night.
  10. I did a search for "kennel", "breeding", "breeding establishment" and "housing" and could not find anything that clearly stated all breeders would have to keep their dogs in kennel blocks and were not to be kept inside at all. The relevant section seemed to be referring to boarding kennels and shelters and commercial breeding establishments. I can't submit a response to this if I can't find any reference to it in the taskforce submission. DogsNSW doesn't seem particularly concerned about the kennels thing. Maybe people should read stuff before they start disseminating information and canvassing for support. Just saying. Isn't the concern that hobby breeders will be lumped in with commercial breeders?
  11. Great to hear she's better and happier. Let us know how she gets on. In terms of her arthritis, what are you giving her for that?
  12. There's probably no specific law against it so grey area rather than illegal. You'd think it would littering at the least or a nuisance.
  13. Jenni, if the police want proof, is it possible for you to set up cameras and record that side of the house?
  14. It may not be legislation but to the person who has to comply with the code it will make little difference.
  15. It was very helpful for Grumpy, though you'd want to make sure it was dry ...
  16. Sorry MP :). It may be another 10 years of being on DOL before Sheridan and I agree on anything. I have to make the most of it.
  17. I wouldn't be kicking the poodle's owner over that. It would have been the media arranging that whole thing. Saying good things are coming her way is very nasty. Her dog was killed FFS. How is that a good thing?
  18. Just like to point out that not everyone on DOL is from NSW. We can support, we can write but they're not going to take much notice of anyone who isn't a constituent.
  19. I think the answer to that, Raz, is that it's the RSPCA and they don't have to justify anything.
  20. I suggest that more needs to be done that fixing the fence.
  21. I find the simplest way to deal with what Tralee really means is not to care.
  22. There's also Ruth Elkner in Wodonga, who is not much further afield. She has a litter listed at the moment. I met her young boy at Canberra Royal and he was delightful. Ruth is dedicated to the breed. Suggest you give her a call.
  23. If the amstaff is still there.
  24. When I moved with Grumpy there was no overlap time. However, there was some old dog poo in the new backyard (the last owner didn't do a final poo patrol) and Grumpy was too busy exploring and smelling everything to be overly concerned about being in another place.
