  1. Hi Everyone, I would like to thank you all for your help, support and efforts to bring CJ and Chevy home. As you all know the word spread very quickly via DOL and Facebook, as well as being able to get a Police Media Release on the Saturday night which helped fuel the media interest in the girls story. We spent Friday night, and a very long day on Saturday looking for them, posting flyers and spreading the news around. Sunday again was another networking day and looking. The ABC TV crew came up on Sunday and interviewed Paul and Karen and this made their program on Sunday night. Many radio stations were talking about this over the weekend and even some newspapers ran stories, some as far as central NSW. The response was fantastic and we knew once the media picked it up we had a very good chance of getting the girls home. I said to Karen and Paul on late Sunday that I had a good feeling about Monday, which also happened to be the girls 3rd birthday, and that we will be seeing the girls real soon. Another friend of mine said the same thing and after another long day I tried to get some sleep that night. By now we were all totally exhausted both mentally and physically but we kept going and no doubt we were all running on pure adrenaline. Monday morning I get a call at 5am, the girls have been found. They were located on a nearby neighbouring property. The girls were at the front door of this house and the woman of the house was to scared to go out her front door, because these were Rottweilers. The woman had remembered the letter that had been placed in her letter box on Saturday and called the local number listed on it. CJ and Chevy were picked up by Karen and Paul within 10 minutes of that phone call and they were now home. We took Chevy and CJ to the vets for a check over, they are stressed and have some superficial wounds but nothing major. The ultrasound showed very strong heart beats on the pups and they were given the all OK. This was a huge relief for all of us. We also had our Myotherapist came out and go over the girls as Chevy couldn’t lift her tail and she was very sore in the rear, she is a little better now and will be fine with some more treatment. The girls were clearly very happy to be home and we were very happy for their return. The pups that CJ is carrying are now all that much more special to us and we will be naming this litter accordingly. I will post the photos of these guys when then arrive and will have regular updates for you all to see. Again I can’t thank you all enough for your concern and help in finding Chevy and CJ. We are all eternally grateful for all the help and support that we have been given throughout this whole ordeal. The Dog world is truly amazing, and when we need help in times of crisis we work together so very very well. I would like to mention a few very special people that to me that have been a rock during all this, and have gone way beyond. They are Nicole Phillips, who drove the media push and her friend Nikki who set up the Facebook page - Find Chevy and CJ. Also Meg and Mark Lewis, who faxed and called all the Vets within a huge area of where the girls had been taken from and who printed up a heap of flyers and distributed them as far and wide as they could. Caitriona Jakbe who networked and networked and got the word out there and got the flyer posted on a number of other websites etc. Heather Parker, Shelley Beggs and Kristie Cooper who helped in the search for the girls as well as networking the information out there. Heather and Shelley came up and did some work on CJ and Chevy at such short notice on the Monday afternoon, thank you! There are so many other people who called us and offered all sorts of support, help and who spread the word out there. We sincerely thank each and every one of you for all the help, well wishes and prayers to get them home. It worked and it shows you the power that the people have. My apologies in not updating last night, but I left home very early in the morning and did not get back home until well after dark and I hit the wall so to speak last night. I was not in any condition to respond with any kind of clarity. Today is a new day and a much better day, we are all smiling today and so relieved! To each and every one of you we are eternally grateful for all you help and support! Thank you!!!!!!!!

  10. So far no luck in locating the girls. The police media coverage should help I hope with spreading the word about the girls. I am so sick with worry, I am just coping at present. I am worried for their safety and especially CJ who is heavily in whelp. Paul and Karen are so very sick with worry, we just want them home safe and sound. We will do everything we can to bring the girls home. We have a facebook page..........Find Chevy and CJ. Please link the page and spread the news. I have spent 17 hours plus today looking for them, posting flyers, etc. I must say a big thank you to all that have offered help, that have helped and those that have added links on your Facebook pages, it is greatly appreciated. There is a very large reward for any information for the safe return of the girls.
  11. Thank you for posting. I tip my hat to these survivors and all those that have gone before. You all served your country well!
  12. Huge congratulations Dyzney on 3 days of Group wins and to finishing off the weekend with a Neuter In Show! ;)
  13. Oh Allerzeit.......... I hope you get that under control soon. I can't see you wanting lots of puppy kisses after that! Not nice at all, but oh so yummy to the puppies. ;) The pineapple hopefully works and soon!
  14. Dogs Vic Canine Health Committee is looking into this issue, probably by providing a form that needs to be completed here in Oz signing off on the positive ID and independent collection and then accompanies the swabs to the testing laboratory. We have found DDC to be very cooperative. This will need to be organised on a national basis, so may take some time Sylvia That is great to hear and I hope they can come up with a tamper proof bag to accompany the paperwork / swabs. BB I have been DNA profiling my breeding dogs for some time now and it always gave you the option of a certified result if the collection was done via a Vet and or a recognised collection officer (both requiring positive ID and to be checked at time of collection to be eligible for certified results). Until I can find another company that has this option I will stick with the one I have used because I want the certified results for my records and to hopefully in the future to be recorded on the pedigrees. Like I said, I personally can't see the point of doing the tests if they can't be certified.
  15. Yes Sway, I am aware that is possible here, but if you look at the paperwork there is now where on it to have it certified by collecting and signing off from a vet or certified collector. I can't see the point in doing testing for DNA profiling if they can't be verified and certified. Maybe there is additional paperwork that is not online that can be presented for certification??? Does anybody know the answer to my question that has used the company for testing?
  16. Huge congratulations a big achievement!!!
  17. Just had a look at DCC's website. The prices are much cheaper than here, but I have a concern about the DNA profiling and verification, it says anybody can do a cheek swab, as they can but what about having it verified with a microchip and the authenticity of the results like we have authorised collectors here verify the dog is what the microchip is??? I hope soembody who has used then can answer this.
  18. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Interesting brittanygirl, thanks for letting us know.
  19. 1. Is there a minimum age for a dog to sire a litter? To answer this it will depend on the breed. There was a list of the breeds and the age requirements printed recently in the Victorian Gazette, I would assume it was printed in all of the Gazettes. 2. Are you still able to do Grandson to Grandmother? Yes you can. They do not approve Mother / Son, Father /Daughter matings. I have recently done a Half Brother / Half sister mating with no concerns of registration.
  20. I will be very interested to see the responses to your question capanash.
  21. I totally agree!!!! You need to report the incident to the council. I no longer walk our dogs around our area because I am sick of feral dogs rushing / charging and or attacking us as they come off their property. I live in a semi rural area.......I moved here to get away from suburbia and all the loose dogs. Seems it happens everywhere!!!!!
  22. Very sad, I hope she makes a report about the attack. I would not be leaving the dog out by itself incase the Husky does this again. I know what the owner of the Husky should be doing with the dog because this is twice now it has attacked with one being a fatality ......... Some people should not own dogs, ever!!!
  23. I think that a Mal got Group 6 and a Dobe RUBIG. I was told the Mal got his Grand with this win! Inter in Group 6 was a Samoyed. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, I was trying to remember the results as i was told????????? Maybe they are all celebrating!!!! I was told it was a warm day there.
