  1. Thank you all for your comments. However one thing that hasn't been answered is what should happen should people be found to have set up the night before and be in clear breach of the policy????? I am not sure how to enforce the policy, but I do the right thing and would expect others to do the right thing and follow the rules. But when it it constantly being flaunted and ignored I have to wonder why have it in the first place????????? Surely there has to be a way of making it fair for all when it comes to first there in the morning, gets the first choice. Not what is happening on a continual basis at both KCC and Bulla. Oh, I should add I do get that a lot of people don't like or don't want to follow the rules, and many don't think any rules apply to them and this is clearly indicated by the extremely poor behaviour seen ringside week in week out. So how do we make it fair for all??
  2. If you have any success in finding a supplier I would be very keen for you to share this information. ;)
  3. How very sad, a very sad accident. I am very sorry for your loss.
  4. Hi All, Seems there are many who don't want to follow the policy of No Set Up the day before a show at KCC and Bulla.(exclusion for setup left overnight after a show and for another show the next day) Again the past few weeks I have seen marquees set up at both Bulla and KCC and all before the day of the show. Now why don't the committees apply the ruling???? I get out of bed early to go and get a prime spot on the day of the show (Australia Day) and arrive at just after 5am at Bulla (before the gates are even opened) and after the gates are opened to find most spots are taken and all set up the night before??? How does this work and why do people think it is OK to do??? Again at KCC on Saturday, lots and lots of marquees / tarps and roped off areas were set up the night before??? Again how does this seem to be OK??? This is a reocurring thing, I can't count how many times last year this happened!!!!! How is this to be policed and what should the repercussions be for those that fail to honour / respect the policy. Should those offenders not be able to show because they failed to adhere to the policy?? Should people be issued a warning then if they do it again they are not allowed to show at the show??? I am really getting pissed off because people think it is OK to do what they WANT to do and not what the policy says, they clearly snub their noses at all of us that DO the right thing and follow the rules!!!! What do you think would be a suitable outcome should people ignore the rules / policy and set up the night before.
  5. I was told by a young local girl that it should be OK this time as it is still school holidays and most young people were away. You only need to be careful when it is school time as they all get to the park across the road and drink then go looking for things to do! Go figure???? The thrill of destroying stuff must be so good for the little vandals. Anyway after being told about the collection for the security patrols and also talking with the local police who came for a look I was happy to leave the Marquee and crates overnight.
  6. Sounds great! Could you please post a picture for us all to see? :)
  7. A direct deposit into your bank account is easiest I think.
  8. Congratulations to all of the winners and grinners!!!!!
  9. Congratulations Dyzney!! and Dyzney!!! You do the breed proud!!!! The comments and shocking reactions are part of the stuff that sadly comes with owning a Rottweiler with ill informed and ignorant people. Sadly though these are dog people, I just don't get it. Good on you Dyzney and Justin!
  10. It is nice if a Show Secretary can accept a late entry as long ast that late entry is not too late. Sometimes I forget to send an entry on the week it closes, but will send one the Monday after a close off date, and I appreciate those Show Secretaries that accept the entries. Also a few times I have had a change of plans and have been able to enter a show, but that entry has gone off just after close off date, it does happen. I think a bit of flexibilty is good. But on the other hand some people enter way after the close off date and expect their entries to be accepted. I am talking a week or two out from the show date and get upset why their entries won't be accepted and or are returned to them. I think you have to be reasonable as getting a catalogue together is a very time consuming job. I tip my hat to the Show Secretaries, it is a huge job!!! And often a very thankless one!
  11. Congratulations to the Winners and Grinners!
  12. Any results from the show???? Could somebody with a catalogue please PM me, I am after some information from the show.
  13. BB this show is NOT the twilight show, I get the twilight show is cooler because of no sun, however travelling to the show and set up is sometimes in the hot part of the day. This is the one for Monday starting at 9am with a predicted temperature of 40 degrees. I still stand by my statement, whether it has a temp predicted to be 38 or 40 IMHO it is still too hot for dog showing or anythig else IMO. And I still believe it should be cancelled. To show inside would be like a sauna in there as the building holds the heat at the best of times in summer, after it has been roasted yesterday, and again today it will be hot in there and the air will be thick! But then you will always have those that have to show regardless of what the high temperature is going to be....... I am entered for the show on Monday, I will not be attending, common sense tells me to stay home regardless of whether the show goes on or not, my safety and those of my dogs is paramount. As I have a background in OH&S it is clear to me for everybody's sake what needs to be done. How I see it - Maybe it will take an unfortunate accident / incident to happen before common sense will prevail and concrete policies are to be put in place and to be implemented ...but that is my opinion and one I see from the OH&S side and the duty of care side for all of the committee, judges, stewards and exhibitors etc .......we live in a very litigious world.
  14. I would have thought this show would have been cancelled with the forecast temperature, and as of this morning we now we have a revised temperature of 40. Edited to add - I see that some breeds are to be judged inside, but there are a number of other breeds that are easily heat effected and they haven't been given special consideration. Oh well, I would of hoped that due to the conditions, that common sense would have prevailed!
  15. The finer the better. Sort of OT I have broken / burnt out a few food processors over the years doing the dogs vegies! A few years back I went and purchased a Breville Juicer, it is the best thing and I wish I had of purchased one before that, it is so much quicker and easier for me. Only sometimes do I need to put the pulp back through the juicer, but mostly it is done well / fine on the first go and hardly any chopping up needed!!! :D ;) It saves me so much time!!!
  16. ^^^^^^^^^ These types of Vets are butchering perfectly healthy puppies!!!!
  17. I just got my litter rego's back in today's mail.........they look all wrong.
  18. Yep I am with Sylvia here, there may be a lot of talk that it will happen by those that use / do it / promote it, but it just WON'T happen! Not something that I will use now or in the future.
  19. Good luck to all attending, they are good numbers! I was hoping that I could go but sadly I couldn't make it ......
  20. Congratulations Beth on your Leonberger's title!!!!! Congratulations to all the winners and grinners.
  21. I agree faxing was a great way to get the flyer out there. I found when CJ and Chevy were taken I was very surprised by the amount of faxes / flyers that I saw posted in show windows etc. It saved a hell of a lot of time as we could cover a much larger area in a shorter time because many places had already been notified via fax. Also the fact that the flyer is already printed out on the fax made a lot of people post in in the windows and notice boards. I hope you find Willow soon!!!
