I find most breeders have the whelping box inside a large C Crate and as the pups grow the whelping box disappears and the pups are already used to being in a crate. When they go outside they are usually in portable pens so they are usually crate trained when you purchase them. Many of us have pet pak inside the pen so the pups may learn to sleep in them are used to small area's. Its a great help when they have to be flown to their new homes.

A long shot but would crating them side by side help ?.

It is a regulations that dog meat has this dye put on it. It is not anything harmful to your animals. :) It is their in the hope people will not buy dog meat to consume for themselves hence the colour green. The green is to deter people purchasing it for themselves. Remember we have many people from some other countries whom may see this dog meat as a source of good food.

I just thought it strange that a breeder would have ten to fifteen bitches in at the one time ?. :)

Maybe he just doesn't want to go out. He may be quite happy at home without walking. :)

Thankyou that's all I need to see :-) Thanks dancinbcs for that I have just got off the phone speaking with Dogs Qld. and they will accept that ruling. I apologises if I gave any incorrect information but I assure that is what I was told. But I was also informed that any dog that leaves this state is to be transferred within 14 days. So back to square one again. :)

you're right and lot's of people do it. They go to some extraordinary lengths to conceal it but really other people know, they are probably just fortunate that no one dobs them in. I'm not really sure what the issue is, other than possibly a money one for the CC's The only difference I can see is if the dog is bred out of the state and reg. in the state the owner holds a prefix in is this. State Bred Class. Class 9 State registered dog. for dogs six months and over which were initially reg. in the state in which it is exhibited. ie Qld. The same applies to bitches of course.

All I can tell you is this ....no way was Dogs Qld going to allow me to reg. a litter in S A when I lived and held the prefix in Qld. even if the bitch was at the time too ill to travel. As I said the bitch was given a clearance to travel and is back home with me. :)

If the owner of the bitch resides in Qld and holds a prefix and the dog is their name then the litter can not be registered outside the state. I only know this because I had a similar situation arise and rang Dogs Qld. The only solution was to transfer the bitch or lease. Fortunately the bitch managed to make it home and neither was required. The state I asked about was not NSW but I got the impression it was a no no, no matter what the state. :)

By the Dog Show classes we enter they officially stop being puppies at 12 months. That does not mean they themselves have stopped being puppies for all their lives. :laugh: Some breeds mature more quickly than others.

No way will I use it. It will have to have been on the market and proven to be harmless and tried and tested on breeding stock. I care for my dogs to much. It appears as though it has had some problems. Bearing in mind that there may always be one or two that may always have a problem with some products. Lord knows the problems I have just gone through with a dog with tick poisoning and the vets did manage to save her after 5 days in emergency.

Rats to that. I was having a quick trip to Brisbane for New Year. My breeder told me those times I quoted. Wonder when it changed? I think it was an error on the part of Dogs Qld. :)

Hi all, just need to sort out some confusion regarding the 2 New Year Shows as the latest Dog World has only advertised the 2nd show only. The 2nd show had an incorrect start time of 12.30pm so Dogs Qld have re advertised the 2nd show schedule only and with the correct start time of 12.30AM. So we still have 2 shows come NYE.

The second show starts at 12.30 am 1st Jan. not 12.30 pm. Starts right after the Fancy dress is judged on New Years Eve. :)

What of the entire bite is 'off' because of a lack of teeth? Their are plenty of Champions out their with missing teeth. :) Missing teeth does not mean much in SOME Toy breeds. In some breeds where missing teeth are a breed fault, yes. It won't stop the dog eating. We have dogs throughout the world with real bad mouths that live normal lives. Many pups with teeth missing are usually sold as pets on the Limited register.
