  1. Updated Matilda photo @ 10 weeks of age!
  2. Teflon, knife proof flak jacket! :) Seriously though.....my sense of humour!!
  3. I'd be refunding the lot. And then mutter "good riddance" when you send it off. My gut tells me this could have been a transaction filled with heartache and angst. Editing to add: After years of second-guessing the intentions of puppy people, the cynic in me says that if you keep ANY of the deposit it may be used against you later on if the purchaser talks to too many people and decides that she wants a puppy from you down the track. Also, check canine controlling body rules and also Fair Trading rules...in some places full deposits must be refunded.
  4. Not sure if you're aware of it ruthjones but Dogs Tasmania have specific rules about the taking of deposits and the refunding of same. You should possibly read up on them with regards to your practices.
  5. Personally I wouldn't do this. Many reasons but first and foremost, why on earth should you have to lie? Circumstances change all the time and at the end of the day, it is YOUR puppy and you have an obligation to it. Don't make up excuses, just come straight out and tell the girl the puppy is no longer available. At worst, tell her you have decided to keep it yourself and immediately return the deposit. Don't get drawn into making excuses, they can backfire.
  6. Farrell's kibble was really good, and yes, just like crumbled 4 x 4 biscuits. I used to feed that and also Meat Bits, which I haven't seen in years. As for onion. NO NO NO!!! Yes, for those who have fed it with no issues, it might well be ok in small doses THIS TIME, however next time might be too much. Think of it as your dog being like a bucket of water, small drips don't fill it until you have reached the top level and then the smallest amount of water can be too much....that's pretty much how it is with onions.
  7. Contact Dogs Qld. Usually the magazines are collated, edited and printed by somebody else (and require separate notification to change details for an individual) so even if the contact information in the magazine is incorrect, the controlling bodies will generally have the correct details.
  8. She is isn't she? Sadly she has apparently been here before and learned ALL of "the tricks" and even though she only arrived last Friday, she has us firmly under her pretty paws!
  9. Another 2013 hopeful, my first American Cocker hopeful for a few years! :) This is Matilda...8 weeks here and first stack.
  10. Into the General Dog Discussion board. To make it easier, this is the thread you need! :)
  11. Was so sorry when you told me this Rajacadoo. Loving them sucks sometimes, it hurts so much when they have to leave... Diamonds Are Forever
  12. Come on into General and add your voices to the thread I started over there... :) And yes, another vote for Wayrod here!
  13. I am making myself very much at home....these are MY pillows, this is MY couch and these are MY servants.....
  14. The Toll guy in Melbourne in Melb said ours wasn't booked in and there were frantic calls to Wayrod to fix. If you have 2 sheets of paper it is always a good idea to read the one underneath the top one. Wayrod then called the people who bought the puppy to ask if all was ok when they collected him. They were really impressed with the service. I wouldn't use anyone else Now that sounds familiar! The Toll guy also said my girl wasn't booked and that there was no crate there for her. Then he changed his tune when challenged later to say that there WAS a con note but that he couldn't match the information given by the breeder to the con note...which was crapola because although it was a Wayrod con note, the destination name matched that given to him by the breeder (mine). And what REALLY peed us off was that he could have queried it with Wayrod then and there because he was actually still in the building!!!
  15. Thanks sujo. Matilda is a black and tan. She's a real little sweetheart. :)
  16. Was a biiiiig day....Miss Matilda is all tuckered out... After a refreshing sleep and a little haircut....
  17. The eagle has landed.... Bit of a false start yesterday thanks to Toll stuff ups in Melbourne but thanks to DOLer Wayrod, my baby was collected from her breeder this morning and arrived in Tasmania this afternoon. She's VERY cute!!
  18. Wanted to give a huge thank you to Wayrod for his help yesterday and today. Cutting a long story short, my new puppy was supposed to arrive yesterday afternoon. She arrived at the airport in Melbourne in plenty of time but due to actions/inactions of the guy at Toll at Melbourne Airport, she didn't get on the flight. After a flurry of phone calls between Toll and Wayrod (the guys at Toll in Hobart were absolutely brilliant), all was sorted, including Wayrod picking my puppy up from her breeder and lodging her himself for her flight this afternoon. The eagle has now landed and Matilda is making herself at home. Don't know what I would have done without Wayrod to save the day! Aside from the fact that he's just a plain nice guy and his rates are excellent, I'll always use him for his excellent service and attention to detail. So   to you Wayrod!
  19. Contact fellow doler Wayrod. Can guarantee best prices AND best personal service. I have used his services a number of times now and wouldn't use anybody else.
  20. Personally I think the fawn has a better topline/outline He's my pick but some long time Whippet people with 30 odd years behind them have said the brindle. It all depends on your taste and if you like them more yank or more English Had quite a bit of exposure to whippy-pickin' when I was at the kennels in NSW (although not 30 years of it)... but for me, the fawn screams type.
  21. Personally I think the fawn has a better topline/outline
  22. Preparation-H (or any anti-haemorrhoidal creams) (antiseptic with anaesthetic helps the itchies) Isopropyl Alcohol (drys those suckers right out FAST)
  23. Surely there must be stewards' sheets or something?
