  1. Told you he'd sort it! I had complete faith. As I said, if he can't fix something, it can't be fixed!
  2. Definitely contact Wayne (Wayrod from DOL). If he cannot sort the problem and generally a LOT cheaper than anybody else, the problem cannot be sorted.
  3. Just read this thread too...I'm guilty of accosting other people's dogs. I was a shocker when I was in Melbourne with my son a couple of weeks ago. I was missing my Woger dreadfully and there were so many lovely Staffords at the Rugby that I couldn't help but fondle a few! Luckily their owners were very friendly and well-socialised and they didn't mind at all!
  4. My boy loves the taste of it, but sadly, it doesn't agree with him at all. Whenever I start him back on it, he starts upchucking no matter how little I start him on.
  5. They asked me what I wanted specifically and I said name, dob, reg number, breeder. The reply came back that the info would not contain breeder but all other info would be included. $50 is their hourly charge for data extraction or searches etc but I guess technology is making searches easier? He said it would probably take a week to get it back to me because they have a fair bit on at the moment (Royal season is upon us).
  6. I have literally JUST heard back from Dogs Tas and they can email me what I am after for $50.
  7. I know of somebody in NSW who purchased a copy from Dogs NSW last year so not sure what the go is.
  8. Funny you should mention this. Last night I zapped off an email to Tas Dogs asking the same question. I'll let you know what they say when I receive a reply.
  9. Green, turquoise and red work well behind blue/grey dogs.
  10. This is why I mostly feed raw now. Too hard to source dry food regularly and I'm not a fan of Black Hawk which is about the only food which seems to be easy to find whenever it is needed. For boxes of chicken frames I go to Robbo's Chicken in Glenorchy ($10 per box). Other than that, there is a new pet food butcher opened up nearby in New Norfolk and I get the rest of the food in there.
  11. I don't use Vasoline on anything much. Given that it is petroleum jelly, I can think of other things I would rather put in sensitive places.
  12. I've always used whatever is at hand, have been known to use peanut butter, vegemite, honey and even ham paste or anchovette. Whatever works!
  13. Drontal is fine. And yes, all that is required is to tape or fasten the packaging from the Drontal to the top of the crate. When the dog arrives, it will be held at the freight section until the quarantine officer arrives. Normally, you won't even see them but occasionally they will ask questions. The Drontal packet is all they really want to see. If they are in doubt, they will sometimes hand you a couple of tablets at the time of collection....but no dramas! :)
  14. Off topic but Ellz I think in your avatar picture you have a good candidate for Grumpy Pup, to rival Grumpy Cat  I wish Matilda could make me as wealthy as Grumpy Cat has made his parents!!!!
  15. ...converts another Stafford hater to a person who can see that they aren't at all what the media and bad owners have made them out to be.
  16. Was talking to somebody the other night who has a litter of 8 puppies from a 13yo Beagle stud.
  17. I would say it is because of the obvious abuse of the Dogzonline benefits by puppy farmers and backyard breeders I would say. Because of the "popularity" and sadly price tag of some of the puppies in these breeds, many people are seeing them as a quick way to make a buck or two without regard to temperament, health or type. Having to demonstrate proven track record by way of showing, obedience or other recognised activities shows that the breeder isn't just doing it for the puppies.
  18. Having bred winter litters here in Tassie, I will say that I found it a lot easier to heat a small area. Easier and safer to regulate a smaller area than to have to monitor an entire room. That said, the rooms were always heated so that there was no chill in the air, but then the smaller area the puppies were in was heated separately so that if there was a problem and the room heating went off, it didn't have any impact on the babies. Easiest for me was a pen arrangement with a separate "sleeping area". This had a heated underblanket on the bottom, then polar fleece (both for warmth and water wicking properties) and then a suspended heat lamp over the top. As the puppies got older, the underblanket was removed, the heat lamp was raised and the time it was switched on was reduced and then when they were able to regulate their own temps with their environment, it was switched off completely.
  19. A Stafford, they aren't known as the "Nanny Dog" for nothing.....
  20. This! :) On show days, whatever happens to be going if I can't be bothered doing liver. Cabanossi, cooked sausages, leftover roast chicken, cheese sticks, just to name the ones that jumped into my head immediately.
  21. Not sure I understand this comment. Staffords are well-known (and admired) for their athletic prowess....
  22. Not sure I'd recommend a Stafford in this case. Most have somewhat higher than medium activity level. In fact, most can be absolute pains in the behind because they are so demanding and full-on.
  23. To be honest, the BEST dog showing car I have ever had is a 1997 Toyota Camry Wagon. Plenty of room with seats up or down. The aircon is the BOMB! And super-duper economical on fuel!!!!! Next best was my EL Falcon Wagon. Heaps of room, super comfortable for man and beast BUT would go past everything except a petrol pump.
  24. Just another suggestion....I had a puppy a few years ago which I suspected may have had hydrocephalus. It turned out in the end that she had a porta-hepatic shunt. She was quite behind her sister in development but didn't really show any neurological disturbances until she got to about 6 weeks and then the difference in the two puppies was very apparent and she had started to have mini-seizures when she ate. She was euthanased then, she just wasn't absorbing enough good stuff to keep her growing properly. Editing to add photos...both girls at 3 weeks of age...spot the "normal" puppy
