Any Thoughts On Using Pinetarsol To Wash Itch Dog ?
Clyde replied to chepet's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'm going through this atm. I have found Megaderm has helped. I'd be careful playing around with food. BARF is not the cure for everything. At this stage I have had to take my little girl off BARF. It's a bugger and you have my full sympathy. Rappie sent me an awesome PM recently with a rundown of everything to do with allergies. I've asked her to rewrite it as a sticky (nag nag) so perhaps shoot her a PM and she may be able to send that same PM to you as it was a wealth of info. -
Which state are you in? Perhaps someone can recommend a good behaviourist as I think this is the way to go with a large breed and a 2 yr old in the house. I know many people here will disagree with me, but personally I would re think keeping such a large dog with any fear issues due to your little girl. I took on a dog last year with fear issues, she too died of cancer but also bit my little girl a few times out of fear. Hence why I've now gone down the puppy from a registered breeder route. Food for thought, either way I hope it all works out

Definitely get experience with a reputable salon first. No point going in to it inexperienced IMO as people don't give you a second chance for a bad cut. Good luck!

They're hard to get. You need to put your name down for one and wait. Challenge Dog Supplies is in Sydney and probably your best bet. See if they can give you an eta. Phone is always better than email. Good luck, well worth the wait!

It's a made up name for a cross breed, Pug X Jack Russel. Actually as I discovered, the puggle is a pug x beagle. Adorable. Yes you're right. I can't keep up with all the silly made up names. In my line of work I have heard some doozys!

Just make sure the bones are always supervised I'm guessing he could go three or four for a meal if fed three times a day?

It's a made up name for a cross breed, Pug X Jack Russel. Little Stewie is a cutie pie. I'm not very familiar with the breed but he does seem to have a dash of something equally as cute in there. He has very expressive eyes

Someone Taught My Dog To Walk Nicely On Lead!

Ramble away You should come see us in the Stafford thread Be careful re vaccinations too as your pup wouldn't be covered just yet unless they have had the newer vaccine protocol. You sound like you have the best of both breeds, but then I am biased -
Aside from all of us being bossy Stewie is certainly lucky to have you as an owner. It's lovely when people want to do the right thing by their new pups. I hope he gives you many years of love and joy like your Chihuahua did.

It *shouldn't* be a problem. All my puppies start off sleeping with me until they can sleep through the night without toileting and are more confident to be able to sleep independently without crying. A 7wo old pup should really be sleeping with you, they are too young to be away from Mum and litter mates at this age

Jesskah, you probably already know to keep the walks really short for a pup? They don't really need walks, just a romp around the park. Walking can be damaging to their soft bones. Sounds like you're doing really well with the training though She sounds like a fun little pup. -
Any One Purchased A Hydrobath Recently?

;) It was only a matter of time. You should put that in your signature so you don't have to repeat it so often. -

I think it's fairly obvious by her posts what her point is. I don't understand why you so often get your back up when people have a different opinion to you with grooming equipment. The differing opinions are often very useful for people to help make up their own minds and buy their own equipment. -

Do you mean Hydrobaths Australia Max? The BARF shop took over HA, who took over Conmurra. If yours is from there and is around 8yrs old I'm pretty sure it would be the same as mine which is fibreglass. Not a single scratch. A friend of mine bought a plastic one and it's quite scratched already and only used for her pets. -

Wow, what a feat in such a short time! -
Yay for Nellie. Very level headed comments. I went to a dinner last night where three old cronies were calling for Bullmastiffs to be wiped out

I don't think it's bad for them. I work from home so my dogs are inside alot. So long as she still gets walked and fresh air she will be fine. It beats a drowned dog and you will be able to relax knowing she is safe. People have dogs in units with no health repercussions. I do agree that it's good for dogs to be outside chasing flies and digging holes in the sunshine but she can do that on weekends or when you win lotto for the pool fence

A regular DOL'er lost their adult dog in a pool I threw my Rotti in last week just to be sure he knew where the deep end stair was too. He got caught up in the barracuda hose. I dont even want to know what would have happened had I not been able to untangle him. He couldnt get out at the sides when he tried. Thankfully he still listened to me calling and went around to the shallow end steps. I don't think you can ever be complacent. It seems having a pool is more of a curse than a pleasure, I know mine has given me many grey hairs!

Im paranoid about my pool and for that reason my Shihtzu doesn't have access while I'm not here as she can fit through the pool fence. Personally I wouldn't leave your little one out unsupervised. Cats are very agile and one of mine has still managed to fall in the pool three times! I would also put a marker near the pool stairs, such as a statue or large pot plant. You will need to teach her where the steps are should she ever fall in as she will not be able to get out on the edge. I threw my Stafford in several times last week until she got where the stairs pets. Could you build a run going from the house? So that she can go inside and outside when home alone. Or better yet, fence your pool.

Oooo, Beautiful looking dogs! I love your photos Alyssa, especially on the first page the dogs on the edge of the riverbank. They certainly look like they have the good life

Terribly remiss of the vet IMO and I feel awful for the owner. However who would want to put their dog through a groom when they're sick. As a groomer I won't touch a dog if they're sick. RIP doggie efs

Try adding some yoghurt. In their senior years I would take them off the PAL and have them on something more nutritous. And the treats aswell, Schmackos etc. I had a Bulldog who used to do super stinky fluffs. The yoghurt really helped.

A wife knows her man best Pleased it all worked out. -
Can you catch them? A flea you can catch is a dying flea. You must have an infestation atm Keep at it, treat all the pets, bomb the house/car, spray the yard etc etc.

Call the vet to see if they noticed anything.
