  1. Liberty have a great rep Ellz. I haven't actually got anything of theirs myself but have used their products in salons and know heaps of groomers that are happy with them. Built to last! I'm consdiering the Beacon atm too - they also have a good rep.
  2. I think the PetNetwork ones are the Liberty ones ?
  3. Seriously you don't *need* much. Just start with the basics and go from there. I've not ever used a frame/arm before but have just ordered a frame (Petnetwork) with two dogs in mind. Will be interesting to see if I actually use it, have always thought of them as more hindrance than help though
  4. So I guess I'm the only lucky one
  5. Anyone here had a dog with one before? Just wondering more about it please other than what I've read online?
  6. *should* being the operative word. Would it be so hard for someone in the know to answer the OP? It's nice for owners to work some things out for themselves and not fell like they are hassling the breeder every two seconds. :D Good luck showing!! Baby Poodles are so darn adorable
  7. Sometimes old dogs just have an old dog smell for no other reason other than they are old. Just like people
  8. I just had to click on this thread as the title kept popping up and making me think of my ex-boyfriend But while I'm here I agree with the others about a crate in your room. Better yet, tuck her in to bed with you
  9. I've always used Aloveen Leave In Conditioner and LOVE it. I use it on my clients dogs too. Although not wire haired etc breeds as it really softens the coat. Smells fab too
  10. If you do a forum search on them you will find loads of info, for and against - although probably more against
  11. Thanks for the heads up on the BEacon, it's only marginally more than the Oldfields so will now be leaning towards that as it's reputed to be very good and quiet. Settrlvr - with the Oldfields I wont be using the hose attachment - so then do you still think it's not so great? (BTW - the hose did used to fly off for me too, but after a bit of cutting and fiddling it hasn't done it for years. I do also check to see it's screwed in tight every month or so too.
  12. Everything and anything (canine, that is) But I would say largely swf's, oodles and poodles. I'm looking at the regular stand dryer not any of the cage dryers (mk 2 or3). For a fluff dry finish... straightening etc. Brushing out under the dryer, rather than just drying IYKWIM.
  13. I need help deciding! I like that with the Oldfield I can have it done in my colour choice - but I didn't even realise they did stand dryers so I worry they aren't that great??? I have their force dryer and it's fantastic!!! Liberty has the fab rep. and I used them in a salon previously, but I prefer the look of the Oldfield *rolls eyes at myself* The Oldfield is a little dearer ($100 or so) and then I suppose colour choice might be more too. Anyone have experience with either of these in stand dryers?
  14. Hi Clyde, Well, you are on the money with that comment. Not sure what the rest of the Puli community would say but Puli are working dogs, intelligent and from what I researched before we decided on the breed (I spent from March last year researching breeds before deciding on a Puli and then got her in Jan this year) very similar in temperament to a Border Collie or Kelpie. But she is a PULI ... like no other dog .... grin ... just a touch biased!! :D I had no idea that Puli were working dogs(or anything about them for that matter). But I do groom a lot of Borders who go dryer crazy which is why I immediately thought of that. Thanks for the info!!
  15. Are you sure you haven't been sold a Border Collie?
  16. That's a great idea! But I am sadly lacking in the 'handy' department. My Step Dad made my current one but it's had its day ;) I wish I was handy as I know what I want but everything seems to be lacking one small thing IYKWIM which makes it hard. Have just found a heap and am now just plain confused
  17. *eek* I think I'm in love! Anyone have this or know anything about it? Manual Hydraulic Table http://www.dogworld.com.au/proddwgt300.htm
  18. Hi guys I'm after a Grooming Table (new or used) and having trouble finding one that's not a fortune to post or a fortune to buy. Anyone have any ideas? Also wondering about stand dryer recommendations? If anyone has either of the above to sell let me know, or know a fab place where I can grab a table (not the crap on Ebay ;) ) Cheers
  19. I definatley would be changing vets. When my girl pug sprained her elbow last year my vet told me not to walk her, let her jump off the couch or have her playing zoomies with my other pug for two weeks. A plumber was here the other day with a gorgeous 16wk old Staffy. She'd done her cruciate!!! The vet made no mention of keeping her quiet - just some pills and come back in a fortnight I freaked out when I saw her tearing around on her 3 legs.
  20. Having just gone through this with a Malt who tore her cruciate running down stairs, my orthopedic surgeon also fixed the patella which has always been a bit dicky. It's worth discussing with your vet to have both operated on so that the cruciate is not weakened by the patella. Chances are your dog already has some athritis so best to start some sort of supplements asap
  21. Another vote for Tony Black but I strongly recommend surgery done in your own state in case problems arise. Most specialists like to have post operative visits and sometimes you can go back numerous times which would be too hard interstate (for the best result anyway).
  22. Have you got any Pyohex handy? It's got a decent level of chlorexedine in it so I use it for all manner of bumps and scrapes with success. When I see Pus I use Pyohex.
  23. God that's so terrible. Really feel for you and your family
  24. Agree with all the above, but don't necessarily believe that your pup is chewing on the rabbit in a 'eating' sense. He is probably playing or even finding comfort or fun in grooming bunny and playing with him in a toy sense. If he wanted to kill the rabbit outright I suspect that would have been done by now. Do Bunnies groom their own ears like cats? If not perhaps try some Bitter Bite around the area to stop pup chewing. Angus used to chew on Trevors ears and ruff. It has ruined the coat which never quite recovered - the tufts he had behind his ears are flat and thin from years of licking and chewing
