That's what I was thinking, the OP deserves commission. My dogs like the CC Barf, but my cats won't touch it so I still get them Dr B's patties. Interesting that the cats won't touch it as they eat all sorts of other minced up meats from another supplier They simply will not have a bar of CC Barf though.

Two? Try 4 It's never too late to crate train if you think it would help down the track. I tried with my Rotti when he was around 2 and he tore straight through it (soft crate), but now I'm training a pup I'm training the Rotti too in wire crate and he's 4. Have to admit there are moments already that I'm glad I can crate him and we've only been doing it a few weeks.

Two Lab puppies is madness!! I am an experienced dog owner and one puppy at a time is enough for me!! If you plan on leaving them in the bathroom overnight be prepared to kiss your bathroom good bye. There will be poo and pee everywhere in the morning plus whatever they have decided to chew... perhaps the vanity or they might start on the walls first (if they're anything like my pup!). I realise now to reneg on one childs puppy would be near impossible but you are going to be flat off your feet. Definitely invest in crates, they will be your saviour I'm actually a little surprised someone sold you two pups together. Good luck, and looking forward to some piccies of the dynamic duo (or terrible twins )

Grooming Trailers - Cars For Towing
Clyde replied to :) Happy :)'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I towed my mobile business with a SAAB. Just a regular one if that makes sense. No dramas. I also towed it with one of those new Ford XR6 ute turbo thingymajigs and found it chewed through the petrol or maybe that was just my driving... -
couldn't agree more!

Rise To The Challenge Or Not?
Clyde replied to ruthless's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Burst my bubble why don't you Just kidding. I hadn't really looked into it. I figured as long as she was on lead and I had control of her we'd be good to go! Welcome to my world. I was the same with George a year or so ago, wanting to do something together. He is too easily revved up to do much. I think the CGC website might have what your dog needs to be able to do in order to be a therapy dog, go and have a squiz. When are you going to come and cool my drinks for me anyway? -
Rise To The Challenge Or Not?
Clyde replied to ruthless's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I don't know if she'd be a suitable candidate as a therapy dog (at this stage). Dogs need to be bombproof and absolutely no jumping. Dogs must have excellent recall even when around other dogs/people. I had a Rotti who did a test to be one, and even though she passed it was pretty rigorous. I can remember the person doing the test was jumping all around my dog excitedly inviting her to jump and she remained in a tight sit. Whereas my Rotti now, well......... he would launch and grab with affection and wrestle them to the ground so probably not so suitable! -
I don't understand why the trainer would suggest crating your dog during the day to stem the barking at you in the evening It's never too late to crate train but agree with the others, it's too long. If you edit your first post and scream out in the title heading that you want advice for a Beagle I am sure the friendly Beagle people (breeders/owners) will come along with some fab advice :D

Apparently kibble starts to lose anti-oxidants once opened.

This option may be best as I cant find mine. It's obviously with all my computer CD's as I can't find any

I find vetnpetdirect usually cheaper once postage is take in to account. Although still use both depending on the product.

I've got it somewhere, will have a hunt around and get back to you as to where to send it. :D

I just had a squiz at it, might be best with a glass of wine and when you're up for a good laugh

Found it. You'll need to sift through, but from memory there were good tips. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...&hl=pumpkin

There was an awesome thread a while back about someone with a fat elderly dog (Golden?) Anyway, Poodlefan and others posted a wealth of info. Perhaps if you search for Pumpkin posted by Poodlefan you might find the thread. It's been rehashed a little so you'll need to make sure it's the right thread IYKWIM. Congrats on your new boy, so pleased he'll be a DOL'er so we get updates!

Does Anyone Have A Dog With Addison's Disease?
Clyde replied to Scarlettsmum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
One of my clients dogs was recently diagnosed with this. I had not ever heard of it before then. I'd noticed the dog was losing weight and becoming depressed, the last time I groomed him he was wobbly and actually snapped at me (usually a very laid back boy). They finally got to the crux of it and it was found to be Addisons. I groomed the dog (Lhasa Apso) again yesterday and he was back to his usual lovely self. Although still very skinny and peeing everywhere from the electrolytes... on meds for life now. -
Sorry just read the rest of the thread. .When has this ever happened? I'm quite confident in saying that leaving the head behind will not cause death. Ticks cause death. If a couple of extra shots were to do it the dog would have to be on deaths door anyway. It takes days for a tick to make a dog feel sick, so a couple of extra seconds being squeezed is not life and death - it's not desirable but not deadly. It *could* possibly delay recovery time - studies have shown that methods of removal do affect the amount of time in recovery.

Miss B is right. Leaving the head behind is of minimal concern the body usually expels this later. Once the body is detached from the head no more toxin is injected as the toxin comes from the body.

Perhaps have a chat with your vet about the prevelance of heartworm in your state at all. It's been years since I've heard of a case of heartworm. (disclaimer, I am not advocating people don't treat for heartworm prevention - just make an educated decision rather than a blind one).

No

No, dogs aren't sheep :D I would use Aloveen. If you do a DOL search on this product you will see it's very popular especially with pups. The Leave In Conditioner is great for keeping tangles at bay too. Soap free and a very mild product.

Sleeping from 11.15am to 9.30 pm is not normal IMO. I would have this puppy vet checked. Unless the puppy perhaps is up all night playing? Yes, pups do sleep alot but to me that seems excessive. Is the pup quick to wake up and eager to do something if you wake him, or dopey?

Find a vet who gives Nobivac vaccine and you can have one done at 10 weeks. Gives you a 2 window leap on socialisation.

Yep, according to the new clinic I go to this has always been the case but it's certainly news to me.
