How Long To Clip & Groom A Maltese/shitzu
Clyde replied to Chocolate's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I only clip that short in the height of summer and so yes a full clip can be done quite quickly then, otherwise I style the coats longer which takes me longer. If only I could charge summer and then winter prices, lol. eta: Shell, from memory your course is distance learning? If you ever need a hand with anything you are welcome to come to Terrey Hills (Nthn Beaches) for some help or perhaps look at other dog clips etc : ) -

Dog Poo: A Tasty Treat?

I glanced out the window yesterday and saw our Bulldog eating the Rotti's poo before it even hit the ground - direct from 'the source' -
My Bulldog suffers from colitis. I just keep a watch on her poos if they're mucousy then treat accordingly.

I'd go with a Simpson, I bought a Beacon earlier this year and structurally not too happy with it.

Northern Beaches (sydney) Puppy Pre-school
Clyde replied to shlincoln's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi there In all honesty I would just go to the one at your vet. IMO puppy pre school is just about playing nicely and for owners to learn about worming, vaxing etc. Most pups which have been to pre school at their vets then love going to their vets. It's hard with pre schools as one person will recommend and two disagree I have found a similar problem recently. Might be an idea though to check the qualifications of the person running the pre school, alot of them are Delta qualified which would be best IMO. -
I think he is the same guy recently recommended to me. I just bought 3 pairs of scirrors from him. Triple 5 Chromes - I LOVE them!! Amazing service too, scissors were here in no time.

Try K9 Force's web site. -
I don't think most of dogs skin problems are related to washing at all. Dogs do not get bathed in the wild - it is not part of their evolutionary requirements! It is generally done for our good, not theirs. I think many dogs have skin problems from being allergic to the food they are given or to a flea allergy. Healthy skin, the outer covering on a heatlhy dog, is much more resilient to chemicals than the irritable skin that dogs with food and skin allergies have. Breeds which are prone to skin conditions, usually have better skin if not washed too often I have found. I think alot of owners tend to over wash at the first sight of irritation. I find it difficult to understand why a common sense speech such as the first thread would render a lecture hall into silence Were those students born in a cave, who the heck washes a dog with their finger nails? None of it is rocket science I would be surprised if any of the above was unknown to joe average dog owner, so it's a bit of a worry that it astounded so many doggy people

TB- Just make sure Duke isn't given this. I've been advised by quite a few breeders to avoid the nasal for Mildred at all costs.

Flyball At St.ives This Sunday
Clyde replied to weekendwarrior's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Oh, so the Festival was re scheduled then? :D The shops told me that it wouldn't be after last weeks cancellation. Good to hear though, it's a good day out! -
Perhaps try Bella and Fox in Drummoyne. (I think they have a site) My friend also uses one in Stanmore who is great.

My dog would tear a cats throat out and rip apart a chook given the chance but he has not ever touched my child. Prey drive and human aggression are totally different.

I've loved your boy across the net for many years, I'm truly sorry  My condolences and hugs to you and your family SP.

Ditto with the plastic toolbox. I used the same one for years. FRom Bunnos, the ones with the hard, clear, plastic thingos which slide on top - they house blades perfectly. Now I'm set up in a salon type arrangement everything is in drawers or a hair dressers trolley, but the tool boxes are FAB.

Barbara Fougere (sp?) somewhere around Drummoyne or Russel Lea from memory.

At the start of spring my Rotti was having green gunky eyes and cold tea was recommended. I don't know if this is what cleared it up, but they certainly got better

Nah, Frontline hasn't been working since they brought out Frontline Plus. It's just a crap product -
