Dianne, what's that?? Is it okay for cats?
-
Try adding pineapple in his food. It's worked for me (well, my dog). I am struggling with my cat at the moment who is doing it, and I've been blaming poor Angus

I'm sincerely sorry Kendall :p I remember when you first adopted Maggie and understand how much you love her. To be taken so unexpectedly is so tragic. Run free Maggie

I've always used it for all of my dogs.

Hydrobaths - General Questions
Clyde replied to BittyMooPeeb's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I agree. I dont use my hydrobath with Angus (swf) the pressure is just too hard for a little dog and it's noisy. Your back hurts just as much, although admittedly not as much as leaning over a bath tub. I would have someone handy set up a section outside which gives you hot and cold taps. Ive seen some funny little plastic baths on wheels that are waist high. Something like this would be perfect perhaps, and a table for drying. I like my hydrobath because of the big dogs, but would be just as happy with hot and cold taps outside to wash them. I only bought one for work. -
What Brand Of Commercial Dry Food To Feed?
Clyde replied to DogsLover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My friends Dogue 'Matilda' is doing really well on the Royal Canin. She too, would hardly eat anything and then finally wolfed down the RC. Seems that they aren't 'piggy' eaters....Matilda didnt start eating properly for about two months. I bought a bag of the RC to try on my guys and they LOVE it. Financial constraints have put them back on IAMS, but Im keen to get back to RC asap. Although my dogs will eat anything. -
What Brand Of Commercial Dry Food To Feed?
Clyde replied to DogsLover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Supercoat is only popular because it is affordable, not because it is a quality kibble. -
One! I have always, and will only ever do one dog each wash. For clients dogs, and my own. The bath is disinfected after each wash for clients dogs and my own. I know what it's like to be the youngest one and get the dirty bath water I wouldnt ever inflict that on another living creature :D

Uncontrollable Urge To Pee. Stops On Vomit
Clyde replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If you 'feel' something is not quite right, then I bet something is going on :D A Fur Mothers instinct is usually spot on, even if it takes the Vet a few go's to find it. I'm sorry, I have no intelligent advice for you, you certainly have all bases covered. I guess we will all have to wait with bated breath for your next vet appointment. Perhaps a hot water bottle, paw massage and hot cocoa will be on the cards each evening for Kal until then -
Uncontrollable Urge To Pee. Stops On Vomit
Clyde replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Maybe there isn't a connection at all, and the two only happened coincidently. Perhaps the vaginal irritation caused her to feel a little bit upset in the tummy (even if only psychologically). I would wait for the vet to give her an internal IMHO. You might only exasperate the problem?? I hope it's nothing too serious :D -
My dogs are 'starved' overnight - too funny I feed them dinner, then dont feed them til morning ;) Taking blood is really not that stressful. Five times in one year...... that whole spiel is funny. Change the dramatic wording and it's empty.

Sounds like a paralysis tick. Hope everything is ok. Sending positive vibes. ETA: Just want to say, that even a check is not ever foolproof. They can get them in their mouths attached to their gum, right down in their ears and also in their anus.

Every third day. If you can get it, buy some Aloveen Leave In Conditioner. It will help with the soothing, and stop and nasties getting in to the sores. Plus the Malaseb is very drying, so the Leave in Conditioner helps with that. I would just hose the dogs down, rub in the Malaseb - let them play for ten minutes, then rinse. I personally wouldnt use Wool Wash on my dogs. Dog skin is so thin. Although I have read of people having success using it - it is damaging long term. Just read everyone elses posts, and yeh I agree with Izaviz, different strokes for different woofs. Could it be the Bonnie? Ive had a dog get hot spots from that before. As Fifi said perhaps just feed natural until it calms down a bit.
-
Are you leaving the Malaseb on for ten minutes? It doesn't start acting until eight minutes. I dont believe you are using too much product, you have flea prevention on the dogs as most people do, and wash them in shampoo like most - that's it. Try here Trina. And click on Allergy Information to see if any of these plants have cropped up in your yard. http://www.users.bigpond.com/dermcare/

Could I have those details pretty please? Is there a contact number? I've always used the same fellow, but he did such a terrible job last time that I had no appropriate blades that would work, had dogs here ready to do, etc etc. It was awful. Lost a days business and pissed of clients

Yawning, Stressed Dog During Training
Clyde replied to Missey's Mum's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I know of a 'particular trainer' who was advising my old puppy pre school clients that when they got their new pup they should immediately place puppy outside and ignore him/her for one week to make the dog calm. (read: depressed, dispirited and alone ) -
Why not just set up hot water outside? I have a whistles and bells hydrobath, but would much prefer just hot and cold hose outside somewhere, less mess and cleaning up.
-
I haven't ever read any facts on this (havent looked either), but yes I do believe it does. It has happened with my own dogs and the desexing is the only thing I can pin point. My Saints coat even went so far as to re grow a big stripe of 'different' looking coat down her spine. I have also noticed excessive shedding with Rotties a few months after being desexed, however the following year (season) it settled down to a normal level. I haven't noticed it so much with males though.

I don't understand this bit We do have heartworm here. Dru I have noticed on this board that a number of folks do not protect against HW in NSW. The gal that sent my boy to me said he had never had HW treatment, so he will be getting it here Wow! Pretty big risk of them to take. I've seen quite a few dogs with it before when vet nursing and have also had rescues who came in with HW. Good thing he's coming to you where he will be protected from it

Thanks so much Erny.

Are there any further details somewhere about the 'distance learning'?

Every 13 days. I use Permoxin as a tick rinse, and they sleep with me so I like them as clean as possible.
