  1. I have noticed a couple of dog doors for sale in the For Sale section of this website.
  2. Oh I dunno, a certain DOLer's SBT ate her brand new Ruthless Leather collar within the first week ;) ;) ;) ;) Whose dog?? PMSL.
  3. I'm so sorry Casowner. I know how much those blasted goats get under your skin. Drive you mental when you have them, lol, but I know the loss of Donkey would be heartbreaking for you.
  4. I remember that too and thought it was hysterical
  5. I don't have anything purple for my pets. Ive worked for quite a few vets who refuse to use purple anything as it was considered the colour of death. It's stuck with me now and I'm too woosey to test it
  6. Yep, owned by one of the hosts from the 7pm project. I thought they did pop up every now and again (black Westies)?
  7. I loved seeing all those puppies I don't understand why a crate wasn't mentioned though. It would have been perfect for that blue staffy who was eating the apartment. And also what about a good old water squirter? Or did they mention that? I ducked out to cuddle a chicken near the end.
  8. I only caught the end but liked what I saw so will watch it from now on. On a side note Chris Brown has a show on tonight about choosing your puppy. Should be interesting!
  9. When I nursed, the vets ended up saying I shouldn't help with euthanasia anymore as it wasn't professional to cry more than the owners. I could see their point but I can't hold back tears when others are crying. I had a horrible experience when I had my Bulldog put to sleep. I should have taken her to the vet that was treating her but ended up going local. The vet was so callous and hovered over me waiting for me to leave rather than giving me some time with her alone. He then went on to tell me all about the breed problems - like I cared about that at that point of time! I felt pushed out and hated leaving her there on the cold floor. My regular vet always put a towel/blanket under dogs who were being pts, it somehow made it seem more caring. When my heart dog Victoria died unexpectedly in my arms at the vets, the nurse was just so lovely and caring. She held Victoria's huge head in her lap, put her arm around me and produced a box of tissues. She was just so compassionate that Im getting teary now just remembering it all! The clinic called me to say she was dying and to get back there asap. They kept her alive and comfortable until I could get there then she passed as soon as I got to her.
  10. Megadeth has that effect on most listeners A lucky escape for he boy!
  11. I am glad we can't take dogs everywhere! Sure, most DOL'ers would be responsible but responsible owners are a fair few in comparison. I don't want to sit near some stinky dog on a train, or have someones dog lunge at my child while out, or lifting it's leg in a cafe, carrying worms everywhere etc etc. I like that we have strict dog laws in public places.
  12. Are you sure? Most Bunnings have cafes now.
  13. Please dont let him off lead while you are having issues with him. If he flies up to the wrong dog and owner you could be in a whole lot of strive. I abhor dogs rushing me and my dogs. Good luck with him!
  14. I tend to take my dogs everywhere in winter - usually below about 16degrees. If it's about 16-20 I still take them but not if Im going to be somewhere for a while, I will run in and out of my local shop which is always quiet and I make sure I don't get distracted. I don't take them with me if it's above about 21 and I have to stop anywhere. They come with me for school runs etc when I know they will be with me in air con and not left at all.
  15. We have a holiday place there, nearer to the Point. As a small child I remember there being only a few houses, last time I went back I was shocked by how much growth there was. Sorry to go OT. I have a fear of water and sharks now as that is where I learned to swim, very rough waters!
  16. Tarban Creek gives dogs ear infections, it's really just a dirty creek that I wouldnt allow my dogs to swim in. Has some good walks though.
  17. Search for 'posts' rather than 'topics'
  18. Do a search here on DOL, it will answer your queries.
  19. Get rid of the Halti and try one of these: http://www.kumalongshop.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=28 They are based in Warriewood and will fit it for you, they're amazing!
  20. Some very worthy noms. Congrats everyone
  21. In that photo she appears lean, not thin. I try to keep my dogs looking like that.
  22. Most vets don't have a clue about BARF and push certain dry foods. I would do your own research rather than expect an open minded nutrition discussion from a lot of vets. If you google BARF Australia you will find plenty of suppliers - or better yet just feed your dogs a good quality dry food and cut out the snacks and dog roll.
  23. It's pronounced Cohburn Dru Thank god for that!
