I have to ring up and find out if you just rock up on the first night. ST I would do beginners obidience from the start, it never hurts to revise old stuff and it will make you look like such a great trainer to have taught your dog so quick . Toby is going back to beginners because I have spent too much time on agility and neglected the basics. ValleyWA .. Sounds better as it's closer. Actually very close to home!Do you know the fees? Apologies about the Thornlie and surrounds comments if that offended anyone, i've worked there for over 7 years now and have seen a LOT of action but through working there I have met a lot of lovely locals Decided to stick with the family vet, purely because I know him really well (even if he is farther away) but did look into VetsWest in Canning Vale, and found them rather pushy to get me to do things n sign up for things and I was like 'uuuuuum, no thanks'. Ex Thornlie SHS girls... A girl I go to uni with used to go there, now she teaches there Ooh, what are the CAWA grounds like? I think you can just rock up and check it out, is that right? I will be dogless that week as I am 'gophering' (first week is always crazy). Bring your vaccination certificate with you as well, as they like to know that the dogs are as protected as they can get. You know, this means that you get to meet my other IT, Duke. (He's only a little bit crazy, these days. Talk to someone who was there 2 years ago - he was a lot crazy then). Who said they felt old for graduating in 2000................How about 1984!! Thats old! I really agree with whats been said about the numbers of dogs allowed to be kept, it seems to me that its fine to have as many kids, cats, birds, ROOSTERS! etc., but dogs get the pointy end of the damn stick! Im not even game enough to broach the subject with our council.............hmmm have just discovered its two dogs in a townsite, 4 not in a townsite............Now I just need to find out whether were we live constitutes a "townsite" .......Were on five acres so youd think not, but its in an outlying "township". Bugger it, think Ill make the decision myself I think - done! Seriously though, its time councils started to rethink the number of dogs "allowed" to be kept by responsible dog owners. ChristineX What breed is Duke? Did some basic commands with Ivy tonight and she did so well and I'm REALLY excited about starting training!! Just head for the changerooms, and look for the table under the lights - having a phobia about being late, I am usually wandering around the park pretty early on, and I do tend to head for people with dogs looking a little lost. RubyStar Posted January 21, 2010 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Hi, Pretty Sure this topic has been finished however, i work for a local government and i just asked the person who handles 3 dog permits and he said that each local government has the right too choose their on rules and limits, however he did also say that everyone has the option of going to the State Tribunial Adminstrate and putting in a appeal... He is also a well known showie and was the president fora little while before he relocated to SA. Hmm nope sorry don't remember him! I'm not sure if Ms McKenzie lasted past our year 8 class, hopefully she did! She provided endless entertainment! The poor kids in my class gave her a breakdown I think. Bugger what did she teach again... what's the class where you learn about planets and stuff? Oh man how dumb do I feel right now? You're the same age as me RubyStar . Does it scare you that we can now say we'll be 30 next year?! Even though I'm yet to turn 29, it still freaks me out cos by rights it's true!!!!!! He also used to like holding his chalk like a cigarette and peer over his glasses... he was also having a fling with one of the other teachers although I cant' remember who!! I am the same as you though... now i have titled Ari i am focussing on obedience but so much of retrieving applies in obedience or vice versa... it just seems to take a lot more work but the mistakes are just as unforgiving!! Ewwww how could anyone want to have a fling with him He gave me Dux in English though, so he wasn't too bad I'll check my emails, I think I might have it as I still get emails that are sent to the retrieving club members, even tho I'm not a member! Whoops, forgot to comment on this part. You can teach the retrieving for obedience without the need for gundog type retrieving. Having taught Ruby the dumbell in obedience actually helped me in retrieving, she was able to retrieve it and bring it back sitting in front of me holding it But if it was threw too far and she didn't see it land, she would keep looking back at me for guidance. I know if I had kept it up she might have had a good shot, but I lack time and motivation! And teaching her not to drop the dummy and shake the second she comes out of the water first seemed just too much work for me Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He hasn't done much before but i am wondering what class to stick him in... i think he could be suited to advanced beginners? at least he knows how to STAND i guess!! So how many dogs do you actually have in your CoG residence there ST? ;) I know you have the 2 ES and 1 Wei, and even though the OES rings a bell, it didn't occur to me you had 4! You go girl, you tell CoG where to stick their rules!!!! :) If he can do basics like sit and drop, advanced beginners will be fine. I chucked Millie straight in there, bypassing beginners. I was even bored poopless in beginners with Ruby and she was the first dog I'd trained. I didn't know you had gundogs. I don't have gundogs . I was just wondering where it was held since I live in the area. Is it at the Polo grounds, I walk my dogs there all the time. I know it's some oval down Midland way, they hold their club trials there (I've only trialled there once so can't remember the name or exact location sorry!)
