What To Do?!?!?

I really, really wanted a pup from a certain breeder and after two years of waiting and no luck as the bitch didn't take I looked up the DOL Breed Pages and looked at the CASD. A couple of weeks later Jake arrived, it was pure coincidence and even though it was hard I am glad we made the decision on the CASD rather than the Maremma. Sometimes seredendipity makes decisions for you

Ooh, how exciting, CW :):provoke: .

My 2cents' worth: Plan romantic weekend, meet breeder #2, fall in love again (with dog), tell Charlie he has a brother and then drive safely home.

Once home, get straight onto DOL and post all the photos you took on the way home. :D

deelee: I have a lot of those lint remover already with Charlie... I keep IKEA in business with that and toys alone! :)

MM:  good plan. if we go to VIC and get a sibling for Charlie, it will be a little sister... poor Charlie! The boyfriend is hoping for a Daddy's Little Girl.. because Charlie is such a Mama's Boy :provoke:

[just cos I'm curious]

What breed are you looking at CW????

Japanese Spitz!

I've totally fallen for this breed!

I hope you're thinking about agility for your dog.. they have the aptitude!

And I hope you like light colour clothes and have a great vacuum cleaner :provoke:

Agility and Flyball, are definitely on the cards. Either one or both.

I'm going to do a NDTF course that starts in August.. so, hopefully, I get a pup before then and use him/her as my demo dog too! (I won't be able to use Charlie)

Dyson - check

Befriend with the local groomer - check

Woohoo... good excuses for clothes shopping!!!

;)

Hey charleswentworth,

I'm doing the NDTF Dog Behaviour & Training course right now! :)

IMO it is excellent and totally worth the money!!!!

I'm really enjoying it  Though I'm still not sure which area of dog training I will eventually want to

be involved in, it is great learning about the basics of training and the many methods used to

train dogs. I do love watching puppy-preschool classes.

I'm sure you will get a great deal out of it, as I already have. I'm currently in month 4.

There is a lot of theory to work through but it is so interesting.

Practical workshops are held at a boarding kennel where I work, so I will probably see you there! :D

Sorry this is off topic!!!! :D

Good luck on your course!!

That's awesome!! I'm so excited on starting the course, but I'll be doing long distance course!

My dream is to run puppy pre school here and have a place in Sydney where people can take their puppies to go socialise in a safe environment. Be surround with puppies all the time will be awesome :)

Ohhh... my boyfriend's family is from VIC (Glenwaverly?) and also my brother lives in Melbourne too. So, I'm usually going down once or twice a year. Next time, I can organise a meet up or something.

I don't have much to add, I just want to say nice choice of breed :) You will have to come and join us in the Spitz thread once your little bundle of white fluff arrives...

thanks! I will :)

I reckon the biggest problem will be stopping at just one.

The boyfriend presented me with a contract that he made me sign that our house will be strictly a 2 dog home (unless I start temp caring or fostering dogs)...

Hey CW we got our first pups around the same time and last week we welcomed our second dog into the house........a girl ;) now let me warn you ITS TRUE they call female dogs bitches for a reason. Poor Toby was whipped in the first 24 hours. She is BOSS no question what she hasnt stolen from him he has GIVEN her!!! :)

That said he loves her to pieces and she loves him. In one week they are inseparable. Loads of fun :) Its energy squared not doubled :D

I agree though a breeder you click with is important. I am still in contact with Tobys breeder a few times a week and consider her a friend, and I clicked with Jazz's breeder who is an amazing wealth of knowledge and mentor!

looking forward to some new happy pics of your baby with charlie

See.. I've never pictured myself having a female dog. Always preferred male dogs.

Then again, I always said that Charlie will be my first and last small breed dog too!

We'll see what happens :worship:

Hey charleswentworth,

You will need to come to melb for the workshops anyway. We have distance learning students come to our kennels while doing the course

so I will see you then :D

Also I live fairly close to Glen waverley. I would like to meet up if you are down this way. :)

Simba would love to play with your pooches :(

If you are happy with breeder 2 & are ready for your new puppy now, then I would take a trip down to Vic & atleast meet the breeder & the pup.

Good luck, make sure you take lots of piccies & post them on DOL when you get your puppy.

Thanks!! We are going to go down and have a look

There will be pictures regardless if we get her or not.. haha
