Eddie Aka "rio" From Hawkesbury Pound

Recommended Posts

On March 9 2010 we rescue Eddie (Rio) from Hawkesbury Pound. This sweet boy was so close to pts...it wasn't funny. I saw him here on DOL urgent rescue list and started frantically to ring around to get this boy out before he was pts. A dear friend of mine who does Greyhound Rescue went to see him and yep...he would be safe with us

He was extremely skinny, had Kennel Cough, sores on his head just to mention a few things. He had no manners and obviously had not spent much time with other dogs before he entered Hawkesbury. He is very responsive though and quickly learned to be polite when it was eating time.

I wanted to show what 4 weeks of food....some much needed TLC can do to a dog

Good on you for saving this lucky boy.

That look on his face in the fourth photo...so sweet.

I can't for the life of me understand why people don't feed their animals...how hard is it?I have to stop myself from being taken in by soulful eyes and I am not allowed to give my Dal anything extra anymore and I find it hard not to!

Thankgod there are people like you out there aswell.

I'm pretty sure Eddie is now looking for a new home. :(

I cannot for the life of me remember where I heard this so I could be wrong.

Sadly things don't always work out. No ones fault.

He is a beautiful boy indeed.

Either way, the OP has done a terrific job of saving this boy and bringing him back to good health.

I'm sure she has her reasons for rehoming.

So true. It must be a heartbreaking decision but the right one to make for the dog.

He is such a gorgeous boy!!
