I went on a longish drive yesterday through Central Victoria. I haven't been over that way for years and just loved the almost 3 hr drive. I stopped when I saw these guys by the roadside. I cannot recall the last time I saw emus in the wild.

Look carefully at the base of that big gum tree, 2 big males are having a brawl, typical blokes.

Gorgeous pics Kirislin.

When we were living in Manildra I used to love visiting the creek down near the flour mills to look at the platypus.

They were fascinating little critters. I wish I had of taken some pics now, I took it for granted at the time because we lived so close and I could just go look for them when I pleased. We had plenty of roo's but never saw an emu out there.
