After seeing Corrie's sketches (and please don't get me wrong, I think they're fantastic, you just have so many to do now, that its not fair to jump on board;) ) it reminded me, that I've got to have my current fur kids done. So the question is, who do people recommend??

Etsy is full of artists who do pet portraits on commission. You can find an artist to suit any budget or style you're after.

I have used both of these artists and was so impressed with their work. I highly recommend both of them.

This is the picture I had commissioned by Joe from The Art Alert. Very, very fast, cheap and the quality is outstanding. You feel like you could reach out and pat the dog in the picture.

And this is the artist I commissioned to paint my long-coated corgi boy. She was also very fast and well-priced and I just love her style.

So have a look around Etsy, just search "custom pet portrait" and I am sure you will find something you like.

Mim Joe's is the sort of art I am after, how do I get hold of him?

You will need to first sign up to Etsy (it's quick and they never send spam) and then send him a message. In that message let him know what you'd like (size, # of dogs etc) and he will give you a quote. Also include the picture you want done in the message (one picture per message) and he crops it to show you exactly what he will draw.

To send him a message, after you sign up, click here and you will see on the left-hand side that there's a link called "Contact the shop owner". Click on that and he will reply quickly.

I love his work so much I'm getting portraits done of each of my past dogs as a nice keepsake.

MUP did you message them and let them know? I had a parcel never arrive and the seller sent out a replacement and wouldn't accept my money for it. There's probably some dodgy people on there but just look at those who have good feedback (like ebay) and who give you a good vibe. It's such an awesome website.

ETA: also, I've only ever seen PayPal as an option for payment method with Etsy shops so you could open a transaction dispute through PayPal.

I really love that Joe from Thailand on Etsy. I didn't know you could get that much detail with charcoal, I certainly haven't when I've mucked about with it.

I've noticed there's some really talented Asian artists, alot coming out of China now too. The last 2 times I went to the Archies there were several artists from China with amazingly detailed paintings.

Are Cazzie's hand drawn?

Facebook page says...

My paintings are not a push a button filter type painting . Every digital painting I do is done carefully by hand using a digital stylus tablet brush stroke by brush stroke!

They look amazing but I still dont quite understand. Is the finished painting like a print of a painting, or is it actually painted on canvas?

I specialise in Pastel Portraits DobieMum. All hand drawn with pastel pencil. Check out my website under Scooby Sketches.

My pictures do take a little time to do, as I also work full time, but my prices are pretty reasonable considering the amount of time I spend on each one.

I have included a recent picture to show you anyways.
