  1. I wouldnt let you NOT Nik! LOL We just have to have collective prayers that my girls cooperate! Last time I tried Brie she missed, and Sarah has never had a litter. Oh and Harry loves the water, but that comes from his mum and grandmother, its a line of water babies. But yeah hates the sun, and showing in sunshine goes so much against his nature!
  2. Well I ordered one. Everyone around here knows well and good I have dogs, council included so giving them a sticker so they know how many isnt going to hurt any.
  3. Hahaha yes Harry has settled down a lot, its either age, finding a diet that suits him, or a bit of both, but he is a much happier boy. Still hates the heat with a passion. It was too hot for him on Saturday with the sun out! Get him on a cold, wet, miserable day, and he is in his element. You should have come and had baby keesie cuddles while you were there Of if you can wait a while, you are welcome to come and cuddle my next litter. I have plans for 2 in the latter half of this year, just need my girls to cooperate with me!
  4. The boys are more cuddle bums than the girls Lyn. The standoffish side of Kees comes from being bred for watch dog duties. You dont want a watch dog that runs and kisses the robber climbing onto your barge, or coming onto your farm. You want them to bark first, and give out kisses later. So that is what they were like. Harry was not at his most people friendly on Saturday, he was smitten with Hazel and was not interested in saying hello to the people. I think he was in love. He loves the lady dogs
  5. Why dont we all pick ONE club or show, and write and donate a sash for that show? You CAN get the sashes made without dates on them, so if they are not won, they can be re-used. If we all donated just one sash to a club, then we could all get the ball rolling.
  6. SBT has covered it all. There are plenty of good quality breeders around, you dont need to go to any of the errm farmers, to get an Amstaff puppy.
  7. I have Poo Eaters here too. I dont look. I pick up poo every morning, following them around to pick it up as its done, but I have a few dogs and someone inevitably eats someone elses poo! I have also caught the odd one raiding the poo scoop when I had my back turned. Just turn away, or close your eyes. It never happened
  8. Its so much trial and error. A lot of people I know use ProPlan but I wont touch the stuff! I use Nutro now, after trying Eagle Pack, Artemis and a few others. But I have a special needs dog and thats why I use Nutro, otherwise would probably have stuck with the Artemis a bit longer.
  9. My brachy breeds get chicken necks. Never had a choking problem. Only dog I had who almost choked was a Keeshond who stole a giant piece of cooked liver and swallowed it whole. He squarked the house down as it went down! LOL I would suggest it was just one of those things, and not a specific problem with brachy breeds. If I have a dog in show coat, they only get small pieces of chicken neck, otherwise they eat their hair off too.
  10. Yep Snofyre has a couple of little bubbas entered

  13. Hotashell OnaWing Na Prayer Hotashell Heaven Can Wait Hotashell Heavn On Forlegs
  14. How long has the breed been in the country? I would assume these breeders imported tested, clear stock? But then again who knows. From a breeders perspective sure I would only buy from tested stock, but is this for a pet or show dog or what?
  15. I would not let that stop me. Hips, elbows and eyes, depending on the breed, may be of little consequence. By this I mean, if the breed is so new to the country, then these breeders are unlikely to eliminate any dog from the gene pool until such a time as there is more to choose from. If they scored all the dogs in the country and they all came out with poor results.....what are they going to do? Abandon all their hard work and money invested? Not likely. So I can understand why they are not doing these tests at present. When there is a large gene pool in which to dip, you can pay to more picky.
  16. Welcome "home" Jed, its so good to have you back with us. My heart aches at your loss, we can barely imagine the pain of loosing so many too soon.
  17. Hi Jed We have all been thinking about you, so glad to hear you are able to get online and have a read. The support for you has been awesome to say the least. Get Well!
  18. Well I put a photo up anyway, because I figured he may not have ever seen a Keeshond before. Many haven't.
  19. I am going to have to order when I get paid next. I think its Talc for me.
  20. I do the dog show catalogues, and have to mail out those numbers Never been to Castle Hill hey? Been a while since I've been to Canberra, but it would not be hard to find. M2/M7 are both a stones through away and one or both of those would help get you here.
  21. I am with Sandra & Miranda on this one. The fewer chemicals in my dogs the better.
  22. Yes I was interested in how it went.
  23. No worries. Let me know if you want to enter WS, I wont be closing off till Saturday morning I dont think. Then I get to spend all weekend putting numbers in envelopes! FUN!
