Yep and I personally would (and have) walked away from trainers that have bagged out other trainers or methods. -
Yep was pretty hot. I was a bit worried in the sit stay because of it. Am now plonked on the veranda with a bottle of wine so can unwind now!

Well 9.00am this morning and I still didn't know if I was going to go! Then I thought about all the people that had helped me and in particular the judge who stood in the rain on Wednesday, only a couple of weeks after a big operation, and thought I had better at least get me and the dog down to the trial. Had a major freakout when I saw I was next to a dog that I know Poppy doesn't like. Nearly pulled out but after chatting to people decided to do the heel bit. That went pretty well. I did my 'RubyStar' thought and off I went, lol. She went wide a couple of times which would have lost her points but all stands, drops etc were pretty good. Need to be careful as I think she is listening to the judge now as one drop was super, super quick! Stand for exam, she heeled a bit wide but did the stand bit good. Recall the lead out was good as I went up the other end of the ring. (She is heeling wide on the first couple of steps from the peg and then comes in). Sit at end was a bit crooked and a bit far back but good speed in. Decided to do stays after assurance the other dog would hold his stay. She wasn't super happy but she stayed put. Ended up with a score of 92 and third place! As normal I wasn't too bad on the actual day. I am heaps worse before hand. Yesterday I was a total wreck but luckily decided to take another dog herding which settled me down a bit. I am now totally buggered! Thanks to everyone here for listening to me carry on.

We passed! 92 and third place! -
Congrats TSD & Ziggy on your agility. Congrats SmoothieGirl on your pass, place & title. Bronte looked really good in the ring. Now for my brag! Poppy passed her first CCD with a score of 92 and third place!

Wooohooo I must be a balanced trainer as this post has annoyed me as much as 55chevy's posts do!

I told Vicki that was why you were probably not at herding. I didn't take Poppy! -

Have you invited a KP instructor to show you alternative training methods? -
Not under water at all here but had some flash flooding yesterday and have a soggy mud room , laundry and shed. That was scary enough.

Yep that is always a worry. After a days herding I am not sure I can be bothered with obedience! -
I apparently did a very nice job of my flanking!!! I've been very careful not to tell her off for any herding instinct she has shown even when she drove me nuts bolting up and down the fence with the pony. I don't even tell her off when she does her nose nudging. I have got her umm fairly quiet I have no idea what I do.

I actually avoid time frames and goals to a large extent. I mean you can go out and think I am going to work on blah but as you start you find xyz has fallen apart. With a class I might have a list of stuff to get done but if at the start of class not one pup is focusing then we will be working on that until we have focus. Sometimes the opposite is true and you reach goals quicker. I agree in this case you do need some measurable to see if the particular method is working. -
She has been doing obedience the whole time Janba? She didn't even want to focus on me or be with me. She went and say at the gate whilst I was running around out in the paddock!

I am sure Steve isn't even slightly bothered that i would look elsewhere for an agility instructor! -
lol Dova, there were a couple of SA at the clinic! Don't think they came over just for the day though Sounds like the clinic is heading to you though Well Amber was a bit of a shock! She goes in and doesn't want to have anything to do with the sheep! I had given her a couple of goes as a younger dog and she had shown really nice instinct. A watching judge said she would have given her a pass in HT. So first time in - zero interest. This was in an enclosed area. We took her into the A course yard. Second go I did some lovely herding whilst she watched by the gate. She did one arch around. She was also more interested in herding me! We are walking behind the sheep and she was nudging me with her nose on the back of my ankles. She then got to sit and watch whilst I worked another young dog. Poppy would have gone mental at that but Amber just sat and watched. Took her back in and got a little bit of interest. Stopped her as she wanted to have a go. Had lunch took her back in and she happily chased the sheep all over the place! Finished at that. All very strange.

Who are these 'methodoligist' trainers you keep banging on about 55chevy? I wouldn't expect KP to teach me about e collars she is a clicker training specialist. I wouldn't expect SG to teach me about a prong collar she is an agility specialist. I wouldn't go and see k9Pro for agility lessons! -

No border collie would work for 55chevy. They are too smart to work for a tosser. -

Are you sure of your facts there? These pet dogs who don't walk nicely on the leash get PTS? And the trainers never refer? And Karen Pryor never uses punishment under any circumstances? From my experience of methodoligist trainers that is exactly what happens, and they usually refer the dog to a vet in the vision that the dog not responding effectively to their methods must have something wrong with it. Apparantly the Karen Prior system in relation to this thread, they are not allowed to use any punitive or aversive training methods or devices???. I may be wrong and happy to be corrected if this is not the case???. I don't like trainers who prioritise methods as their primary goal and sacrifice a dog to do so. Lying at my feet here is a GSD that was deemed untrainable and viscious by methodoligist trainers awaiting the long sleep, nothing a prong collar and a few good corrections didn't fix Do you actually know anything about this particular trainer?? You obviously didn't know anything about Susan Garrett either judging by your rant on the crate games thread. -
Anyone going to the Nyora clinic tomorrow? I am taking Amber for her first real go. woohooo

Lots of vitamins need other vitamins or can block the absorption of them. I just gave myself magnesium deficiency by taking big does of Vit D (under doctors orders). -

JulesP replied to Koemi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Bit of a long way but I know she wouldn't give you any crap and you could go for a nice drive after - Seville Vet. A friend took me there and just drove me around the valley afterwards. It wasn't something I would have thought of doing but it did really help. -
I would really like not to go But I feel like I would be letting heaps of people down. The breeder, the people that give up their time to help teach. Even the dog as she is a nice worker. I am sure she would prefer to do the alternative weekend activity which would be herding!

Thought the Tucson was really gutless and I had a bit of trouble seeing out of it. Just really didn't like driving it. Lucky I did drive it as I was going to buy one!

Woke up at 4.00am and couldn't get back to sleep! I am sort of blanking out when doing the heel pattern so not sure if RR or anything else would help or just make me more of a zombie? The 'RubyStar' is stopping me from doing that as it sort of keep me present and in the moment. The weird thing is I can reasonably happily stand up and do public speaking in front of a large audience. It is anything even slightly sporty that flips me out.
