  1. I'm getting weirded out, now Be afraid. Be very afraid! heehee. If I could pronounce "Ptolomy" I might have used her instead. But as it is I would have sent the heel pattern thinking about how to say the name.
  2. We don't seem to do mock trials here. We have a ring set up at club every Sunday and can do a run through in there. You can train or do it to trial standard. We do group stays as well each week. We are lucky enough to have some top UDX people helping out and a couple of judges. I have a real trial in a couple of weeks. My first in over 13 years No drinking as training and trial will be in the morning I did have to have a couple of drinks to recover from my 'relaxing' off lead walk!
  3. Had another good run through yesterday thanks to RubyStar I just think 'RubyStar' as I start off and for some reason I don't freeze up. Quite weird really
  4. Glad to hear you all had fun herding. My little feral decided to do some herding too today. The 'sheep' however was a very aggressive rottie. I don't know what she was thinking!
  5. No worries. I know you are doing the drive training program so do know, but I see a heap of people who think it means the dog is just really razzed up.
  6. I would like to see how Pep goes for food if the food is made more exciting. Use similar teasing movements with the food and move it around like you would with the tug. Huski I understand the calm thing. My borders are less bouncy in drive then out of drive. Think of the border collie crouching low and inching towards the sheep. That dog is in drive. Mine go very intense and quite still when in drive. Very controlled. The Mals I have seen in drive have the same intense look.
  7. Yay Jules! With the baby? No! Amber is no were near ready. This will be Poppy's first trial if I actually turn up Oh and my first trial in over 13 years!
  8. Is it reasonable? Nope it is a horrible job. You get bitten, covered in fleas, it is physically hard work etc etc. You should be paying double! It really used to bug me that people questioned the cost of a clip but happily went and spent hundreds at the hairdressers!
  9. It says on the confirmation email to contact the trial secretary if there is a mistake on the entry.
  10. OMG I entered! The online was really good. Very easy.
  11. Thanks Ellz. I was thinking about ordering direct Winterpaws but am having an instant gratification day, lol. With that in mind I went for the silver as the purple double wasn't in stock.
  12. I didn't see anything like that on the bag, but will add the my cats really like it! They have their own food but if they find a stray bit of dog kibble on the ground they snap it up real quick. Must be yummy. They are asking because if the food has been irradiated then it is supposed to have that label on it. If it has been irradiated then it is dangerous for kitties. I assume they have a reason for asking??
  13. I can't decide between the silver and purple. They are too expensive to buy too many.
  14. Damn you BC Crazy I have now spent hours reading up about these brushes and still don't know which one to get
  15. How to deal with the pup without squashing the herding drive is a tricky one. I think a 3 sheep trainer would be better to talk to in this case.
  16. Puppy sounds like she is going well TSD. I used some frankfurt & devon today with Amber and she went nuts for it. Lucky I still have fingers left! I normally use this when I am out. So for some reason it is just the raw meat she can't be bothered with. Or she was having an off day. I also trained her last so she got to watch the other 2 munching on treats. I've been doing a bit of drive training with Brock and he is coming along. Brock 'failed' a drive clinic with Steve due to being too polite so I am quite pleased with the progress.
  17. I wish I had written down what I wanted to achieve but I never like to jinx myself My aims were to get Poppy's started herding title and sort out her stay problem so I could trial her in obedience. She got her herding title nicely and finally at the end of the year I think she will be ok in the stays. I also wanted to have more fun with the dogs. I have been doing a weekly trip to a local river which has been fun. I wanted to go to the beach too but that hasn't happened yet.
  18. You have rehomed 2 dogs for IMO fairly dodgy reasons and haven't fixed the issue that got them rehomed, so no I don't think you should be getting more dogs. What breach of privacy? Eques is an open forum. Talking about breaches of privacy I hope the breeder of the JRT doesn't read what you have written here. That they are a 'family of cat killers' has certainly not been written before on an open forum.
  19. When the barn cat was found dead it was strongly suggested that you keep the cats and the dogs apart. If it is not safe for the animals to be roaming free then don't do it. You have a yard. It is not like the Aussie killed your pet cat in your house. You don't actually know that the JRT killed the other cat either. I like cats. Feral cats are however a major problem. Have you had that last lot of kittens desexed yet?
  20. A stuffed one would work I reckon.
  21. Holistic in general means treating the whole body. So this ingredient for the bones, that for the skin etc In reality it is just a wanky marketing phrase in this instance.
  22. Gentle hugs kazads. The clear stuff might also be from heart issues. Fluid starts to build up. I ended up letting my old girl eat whatever. She had tinned food near the end and the day she wouldn't eat a tin of MyDog I knew it was time. She stopped eating kibble first but would still eat her chicken necks.
  23. I actually said secrecy around these products whilst talking to all that glitters. The product all that glitters purchased isn't Black Hawk. The other product all that glitters is asking about isn't Black Hawk.
  24. Mmmm, the supplier Ive found charges $90. That's a big difference over time. Just a note to this... I am the Supplier for this area and I charge $85 for 20kg of adult and $95 for 20kg of puppy. I charge a $5 delivery fee in Sydney Metro and $10 delivery in country areas. I am sure if someone has paid $75 it would have been in VIC. I have freight charges to get it to NSW and still make a very small margin. The food is still much cheaper than comparable holisitc products AND I deliver to the customer`s door. If I were to use a courier this would cost MUCH more to get to people as mentioned in other posts. Unfortunatley to be able to provide this service I need to make some money from it! These are very reasonable price for a product of this quality which delivers such good results. For anyone who lives in the Southern Highlands/Illawarra etc you can also collect from my house if you would prefer to avoid delivery costs. I am a bit confused about this as Hungry Hound, who claimed to be a part-owner of the distribution company, said that Black Hawk was being made in NSW.
