  1. I think DA should be muzzled when at off leash parks even if on lead. Just for the safety of everyone. I don't think it is super safe for a muzzled dog to be off lead.
  2. It was never really an issue as the dogs have to stay on their beds when inside and no going on furniture. I've just rescued mine too Cosmolo! Poor Brock was trying to climb under his trampoline bed.
  3. I got an Xtrail as I liked the boot room. I liked the Hyundais but didn't like driving them. The Xtrail is one of the most common cars at my dog club I tried to open the wrong one the other day, embarrassing.
  4. Ok this is embarrassing as it is so pathetic 2 weeks ago i entered my first trial in years. Since then I have lost 4kg due to an upset tummy. I was stressing about it a bit today and had a run through tonight. Get to club and whilst waiting my turn managed to give myself a migraine. Did my run through with maybe half vision. I very rarely get migraines but get vision disturbance with them. Thought 'RubyStar' and got through it. Everything went pretty well. Would have scored 92. Run through was with a real judge. Was super pleased with Poppy in the stay too as a dog broke and ran around. Pop stayed put. I now have a shocking headache and my heart rhythm feels weird, I have high blood pressure. I have no idea why it is freaking me out so much. I've competed in dressage, horse showing, herding and obedience. It doesn't get any easier and is in fact getting worse. :D I really don't know what to do.
  5. Who is talking about crossbreds in this thread? You have me confused now. The OP stated in another thread that she intended to mate her unregistered dog.
  6. Sooooo basing the cost of a dog on colour is wrong but breeding crossbreds is OK?
  7. I don't see the people that were complaining on the Staffie thread saying it is ok here? If the blue staffy has a black nose then I wouldn't have a problem with it being sold for more money. If it doesn't have a black nose then it is a dog with a fault according to the standard and should not be sold for more money. Probably should be less money.
  8. No, you bred a litter of mongrels. Border Collie X Australian Shepherds. Then advertised them for around the same price as a pedigree pup. This is just hilarious
  9. Oh dear Seita. My plan of action the week leading up to my first trial has been to pretty much not train. I figure that way I can't break anything or go mental...... A question - if for what ever reason you decided to not compete would you still train to roughly the same level??? The same dedication, time etc
  10. Lots of obedience gurus too :D Oh yes, absolutely! But I mean that I want to get some one on one lessons outside club like I have already done with agility. I learn much more efficiently that way. Would love some suggestions ;) Leopuppy!
  11. I wonder why dog people get so hot under the collar about this. I just sold a pony. He sold for at least $1000 more because of his colour. And he didn't have boy bits so it wasn't a breeding thing. Of course a sub standard animal shouldn't attract more money. Also silly to ask more money for a colour that can't be main registered or that will be frowned at in the show ring.
  12. That is a lovely sash! Congrats SmoothieGirl
  13. Why do you want to pick on e-collars? If you used an e-collar the way I do, it might not achieve what I think you might want in this instance. Too soft. . I think you'd cause more punishment if you used a Head Collar. Exactly!!!, it's no different than for example walking back to a dog who's lost focus and sniffing the ground and touching it on the shoulder to regain attention. You could always be a "humane" trainer and yank the dog away with a halti E collar training is not about blasting the dog with a heart stopping electric shock in fact none of the E collars on the market today have anywhere near the power to achieve that. Well I'm not an expert on head collars as I am such an amazing trainer I've never had to use one.

I think you'd cause more punishment if you used a Head Collar. Well I would prefer a long distance correction. As a not very large female I also think I might not have the suitable strength to give a decent correction with a head collar. And more then anything a bit of zapping with an e collar would be lots of fun.
  15. I've got 3 border collies under 5 years. They are fine to walk on lead together, none of them pull. I've got a couple of acres so mainly we go for runs out there. I have started to go to a off lead river and have run into a bit of trouble and think I will just take one at a time from now on. They are pretty good but it is hard to keep an eye on all three and be a good off lead citizen. Food - they cost less to feed then the 2 Birman cats. They get super premium dog food in the morning and a bone at night. Worming is a bit expensive as I use Sentinel Spectrum. Don't have too many vet issues. They sleep outside, their choice. The younger one has been sleeping in as she likes being in. She sleeps in her crate, in the kitchen with the cats.
  16. You could probably buy one panel of a dog run but not sure how you would get it to the house. Bunnings sell panels of weld mesh too.
  17. Why the hell has this turned into a slag-off-the-positive-trainer session????? Once more I would like to use an e-collar and not on a dog.
  18. Cool now I am not the only weird stalker-channeling type!
  19. Oh and I asked her because she is right into Ridgebacks not because she owns a couple
  20. She suggested cooked chicken mince and rice  She was quite keen on the cooked part. I know I have less trouble with well cooked foods. A slightly not cooked mushy will have me rolling on the floor in ouchies. Have you tried juicing up the veggies? I am 'lucky' with Amber as most people think she is fat. My Ridgey friend was very surprised today when she felt her. Fairly sure Amber is just being fussy though as she doesn't have poo issues.
