Charmers like that aren't worth bothering about. You do what is right for you and Bru.

We could be sisters  I'm glad you have the time to spend with Mac; it will mean so much to you in the future. Apart from that, he is a cool dude to spend time with just snoozing - gives you the excuse to do the same.

You are assuming that hunters actually care about what they are killing.

I'm moving to Adelaide so Mac's Grandma can adopt me and mine  (I'm prob'ly older than Grandma. Do you think that would be a problem, though??)
-
It can be tough **hugs** to you and your Westies.

Thoughts are with you all, Swazzie.

Oh it is great to see Mac the right way up  That said, from any direction he is a Hunky Handsome.

I have a little plastic bin in the kitchen cupboard by the oven into which go all the scraps. I take it down to the compost heap every two or three days depending on how quickly it gets filled. It never smells, it never attacks flies or other insects. The compost heap is down the backyard in the corner. The dogs never roll or scrabble in it. The possums do though and that makes me happy. I have never understood the difficulties people have with compost heaps or keeping a little scrap bin in the kitchen. I don't use any of the "aids".

That's a relief. I wonder if the person has explored ways in which she could be supported to keep the dogs? Giving them up must be very hard and may exacerbate her ill health. Very sad. Thinking further ..... On the other hand knowing they are in a new and loving home may relieve a lot of stress. Whatever the situation, I wish both the owner and the dogs well.

Deepest condolences, T. Run free, Zeddy. You were totally loved and will be missed. :rainbowbridge:

Great update, WM. Mac is the BEST  (ETA: Apart from Danny, of course :D :D )

With a blue cheese cake ?? I have discovered something else that Danny loves and when I give him a dollop to get him started on his normal food, I think of Mac. What is Danny's latest? Jamie Oliver's Cheeky Cheesy Cauliflower soup.  It is very rich so he gets only very small helpings.

Saw a FB story today. Wasn't Hume though. Horrible and frightening.

Hard to believe a breed can change so dramatically in 50 years. . Remember the Grand Champion at Crufts a few years ago? A Peke who could hardly walk and wheezed like bellows. ETA: when I saw the pic, I thought the dog was a Tibbie to be honest.

I agree Westiemum. Treatment worse than the problem = stop the treatment,

Is This Some Type Of Ataxia?
Loving my Oldies replied to yellowgirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thanks DDD. He doesn't appear to be in any pain but he's a very stoic non-complaining type of boy. He was doing something weird with his back legs before I got the camera, my first thought was that maybe his arthritis was bothering him and he'd made himself uncomfortable when he was on my lap, then he started the wobbles. Gentle hugs to sweet Danny Danny saw this and has spent the day demanding hugs - LOL. Back to Seuss. Could be that he was just trying to sort out pains from being on your lap. Whilst I am not at the wobbling stage, I sure have some awful pains going on if I've been in the one position for a while. Seuss and I have age in common  -
Sorry to hear that poor Mac had bad result from new meds. I don't have anything to suggest, but I hope other DOLers do. I believe totally that it is because of the support and suggestions from DOLers that I still have my Danny.

Is This Some Type Of Ataxia?
Loving my Oldies replied to yellowgirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
I can't be of any help, YG. I've not seen anything like that. Just wanted to input that Danny's back legs are becoming weaker and vet said it was neurological and he wouldn't be in any pain. Hope darling Seuss stays fine. -
Is My Pup Traumatized? What Should I Do?
Loving my Oldies replied to rylst's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree with K and S. Pup sounds fine. Unfortunately, we can never fully protect ourselves or our loved ones from stupid. -
Food Bowl To Slow Down Eating
Loving my Oldies replied to alokin123's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have a couple similar to this one and they work well. Purchased from the pet shop (don't recall name) at Castle Hill home centre on Victoria Road. Luckily I have only one dog who gulps down his food and most of the time I just give him one meal divided between two or three bowls. -
Not to forget Westiemum the Wondermum.

Mac the Marvellous

That sounds very very frightening, Wesiemum. Hopefully, Mac is a lot better this morning. I can't offer any suggestions, I'm sorry, but my thoughts are with you.

Oh yeah. :( Bring in the psychiatrist. Such a silly attitude - even if you are joking, ash1.

Deepest condolences, Ray. Your Greta was so beautiful. As you say, one the the pain won't be so bad, but the love you had for her and her for you will never change or diminish.
