  1. They'd have to get a Ronin too. Looking forward to seeing those pics.
  2. Oh that is so true for me too. They are so in tune with each other and you are dead right about them having a sense of humour, Yonjuro. Did you notice early in the vid how Ronin was waiting just out from behind the shed for Tigger to start chasing him. Just lovely ..... and the SIZE of the yard. Brilliant for big dogs who love to play.
  3. Some dogs just like being up high and I have a squillion photographs to prove it with one little dog of mine.  Danny is very elderly and sometimes wees in his sleep. He now wears belly bands at night as they all sleep on the bed (easier for a male than a female and obviously couldn't be left on all day). However, the following might help you. As an extra precaution, I now use a mattress protector which I throw over the top of my bedclothes on the dogs' side of the bed and then put their throws on that so they still have the throws to snuggle into and arrange as dogs will. I buy the rubber backed fitted ones from Target or K-Mart and cut off the "skirt" so they lie flat. If there is an accident, then only the mattress protector and throws need to go in the wash. The throws are micro fleece so dry in no time. Sometimes we just have to accept that a dog is going to do what it is going to do in terms of its habits and work around them, particularly if they are elderly and/or have med problems.
  4. How wonderful to hear of someone who is keen to learn and doing her best to help and calm two frightened little poundies. BTW Yellowgirl .... love your sig photo.
  5. Thank goodness I am in NSW with four dogs with health/age issues - LOL. Isn't he just gorgeous? Totally.
  6. Thank goodness I am in NSW with four dogs with health/age issues - LOL.
  7. OMG!! Dislexia happened. I first read that Mac had an attack. Then I started reading again. LOL. What a relief. What a little trooper you have WM. I saw a Westiemum youngun at the park the other day. I can understand how people get "hooked" on them.
  8. So many conditions are now being helped by having assistance dogs. I think it is wonderful across the board, but specifically on two points: 1) the person must be able to have so much more confidence because they have help from a very special creature; and 2) the bond that would form would be so satisfying and close. Absolutely this, Yonjuro. We always knew the Ronin was special As usual, SM, you come out with something that stops us in our tracks and makes us think and re-evaluate our thoughts and actions.
  9. Have to agree with you, SM. And I am wondering why CountryGirl thinks this is the appropriate thread to mount her case
  10. Yvonneh's new dog was from Blacktown Pound. Congratulations on your new family member, Yvonneh. Don't worry too much; a lot of people can overthink things. Photos are a must, I think.
  11. I think we need some updated photographs of this amazing little man, preferably in the Mac Mobile.
  12. Cruel, but typical. :( If a long time DOLer can't come here and talk about how she feels and what she is going through without getting this sort of arrogance, it is pretty sad.
  13. OMG!! I follow Rainy Day Rescue on FB. They sound really beautiful people and would go to the ends of the earth if any of their dogs needed it.
  14. I don't have first hand experience of the difficulties you are encountering, Kajtek, but beautiful dogs ARE certainly missing out on a wonderful home with you. The grief we suffer when our beloved dogs die is compounded by so much when see the sorrow and loss mirrored in the dogs left behind. If you have even applied to a NQ breeder, you are spreading your net wide and I wish you every success. It would certainly be a long shot, but put your feelers into the rescue world as well.
  15. Had a chat with a neighbour while out walking yesterday - a lady I generally see only to wave at, but she was waiting for her husband to back the car out so we had the opportunity to chat. Naturally she asked my how my little tribe was getting on and then told me that her daughter had just adopted a GAP girl who was absolutely lovely, had her little [sic] green collar, etc :) :) Forgotten the doggy's name now, because I did ask in case she was known to anyone here; if I see her again to talk to, I will ask again.
  16. I remember. Nail biting stuff. Go Benny Boy.
  17. Is perse morphing into Souff ??? Off to watch vid now.
  18. To put some clothes on?? Those photos are just mesmerising.
  19. This how I feel, very strongly. I think we also need to remember that vets aren't god and are more focussed on treatment than the wider issue of a dog's socialisation and behaviour in society. I would not take a puppy to MPW. Mrs Rusty Bucket's list is very true and very depressing.
  20. Who could forget the you tubes of the three legged toy poodle do agility? Miniature Poodle? 100%. OMG - how could I have forgotten the German Spitz . I rescued and rehomed homed one and another who was a cross. Totally beautiful dogs. Even taking into account the dogs who have been my own, these two dogs were two of the nicest dogs I have ever ever come across. Would not have weighed 12kgs, though.
  21. Nothing like DOLers for hitting the nail fairly and squarely on the head.
  22. If Tor is intent on having a Boxer, I can't imagine anything more designed to keep her on track than those photographs .
