I find rather than seperate at feed times feed together to encourage her to eat before her mother gets it...supervised of course. I find this happens when at 8 weeks the siblings go and I am left with single puppies that dont have to compete with others for their tea.

I voted other...if I have girls I get enquiries for boys, if I have boys I get enquiries for girls. If the people have been on my list for a while they take anything they can get, boy or girl.

You completely seperate mum from her puppies...and she will dry up on her own. Just keep an eye on her feeling for any over hardness or redness....do not be tempted to express milk as this will only get her making milk to replace what was expressed.

I think they pick everyones last choice, mine is my last choice only added as a filler, it is 10 letters long all my others were short ones. Test the theory and newbies put your best and first choice last and see what happens lol.

Your answer to this reply should have been....Sorry I was after an ethical registered breeder!....that is bullsh!t as suggested go to a few shows and find a breeder that you like..first impressions...and go from there.

Wheres the breeder of your boxer? They are the best ones to help as they are already doing it and you can go to shows with them etc.

I dont understand this way of thinking....we need to know what health issues crop up in our puppies....so without giving a health guarantee we would never hear from the puppy buyer if something comes up. A guarantee simply says to the puppy buyer that you being the breeder are standing behind what you breed....specially when using outside dogs and parts of the pedigree are unknown you need to know if health issues come up for your future breeding programs....and who wants to be selling sick puppies? Puppy buyers are entitled so some sort of guarantee from the breeder....for some families buying a registered purebred dog is a major purchase.

That is all very well until a girl comes into season....changes the chemistry.

I give my puppies a chicken neck to explore when 7 weeks....they cant choke, but must be watched.

I am having the same issue Jane with a bitch....I am going to get his sperm tested and if all is good I think an AI as the first 2 times we tried natural matings and got nothing. Have you had her swabbed when she comes into season? Or do you put all your bitches on Clav anyway?

The Gazebo I was in at Noorat on the weekend had one of those Silver things which we put on the sun side to keep it off the trolleys....But I agree with Sway that although the trolleys were shaded it did not allow the breeze to flow thru them and made the gazebo just as hot. I dont know what the alternative is to the solid walls but I dont think it is the silver stuff!

Every afternoon when Pugs were on there was a plague of white butterflies and dragon flies....dont know why or where they came from the the air was thick with them. The grounds were perfect, even though a game of footy was played on the friday night. I have never heard shit hit the fan like it did from the Sec tent, but then I havent really shown often enough lol. The meals were great and made it easier heading back to accomadation with a full tummy. We will be back next year. When you live in rural areas and 2 hrs has gone between puppies best to try Oxy (if a puppy can be felt at the end of your finger) before heading off the 1 hr drive to the Vets. But I would not reccommend this for a first whelping on your own..I didnt whelp a litter on my own for a couple of years.

If you have cheese slices....wrap a bit of cheese around the tablet and she will eat it quick smart.

Anyone who thinks that the vet checking a few breeds once a year at Crufts is going to make this all go away is blind. Blind to what they want, which is a total shift in how dogs in the kennel club are bred and the end of dog shows, which they believe drives the problems. Of course its happening in Oz....breeding will go underground and you will only be able to get a Brachy breed on the Black Market...and docking will be done by the breeder again, saves spending thousands sending their dogs to another country for Dogs sake....and when there is hardly any dogs left they (the government) will see a huge loss of income and will look at what else they can slap an extra fee or tax on....we will have no fresh fruit or veges or milk as they will already have killed off all primrary producers and we will be forced to eat toxic food from China (those that arent self sufficient that is)....yes it will all happen and they aint a thing you can do about it cos ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!
