  1. I hope Im not opening a can of worms, but, just wondering what happened to the thread about the Border Collie, ?Holleigh? who was due to whelp, has gone ???
  2. Oh, ok thanks for that showdog, makes sense...
  3. Thank you S T :) ... I was thinking that, but I thought the results were up so much earlier yesterday, I just presumed with only the one group today, they might be even earlier today ???
  4. Does anyone know why the hound results are not up yet ???
  5. Hi Guys, Could someone please give me the number for River Gum Vets ??? I have a puppy over there who needs to see Dr King, for an eye examination...
  6. Understand completely about the cost which is why I am exploring this. I guess to send to Tassie it would be best frozen?? Yeah I guess so... Would it lose many, if any, nutrients if frozen ???
  7. Im in Tassie and if it was not going to be too cost prohibitive, I would be very interested... Ive whelped my last 3 litters on it, as well as quite regularly feeding it to my adults, and I LOOOOVE it. Very happy with it :) ...
  8. Ok thanks for that, Im thinking Helen must be very proud of her girl ...
  9. Yeah I know Im biased, but does anyone know who the Basenji was who got BIG pweeease ??? And Baby for yesterday ???
  10. Does anyone know who the Baby Basenji was please ???
  11. Yep, sure did :) ... Just been on the phone to him, actually... Long and complicated story, will fill you in later :D ...
  12. Just wondering if anyone has exported to the Ukraine ??? If so, who did you go through, i.e. what company ??? Also what were the cost of the Airfares ??? I have had a few quotes, but they are a little too much for the possible buyer, so hoping for some other companies I maybe dont know about ??? TIA...
  13. Definately Wayrod... I have just had a very stressful time trying desperately to get a pup to Dubbo Airport. After many stuff-ups from airlines, Wayne has performed a miracle or 10 to be able to get this little girl to where she should be :) ... He has gone well above and beyond the call of duty in this case, and I really do appreciate all that he has done :-)... Thanks Wayne, if you get time to read this, you are a miracle worker !!!
  14. Im really upset ... I had my pups vaccinated today and spoke to the Vet about the worms, and she also said that while its not unheard of, (and the worm cycle would allow pups to have worms at every worming), she would find it quite unlikely... I will have to do some more study on this, (thanks Jed for the info, and Steve for the link, that was really helpful in understanding it), before I have another litter... Clearly my worming routine is not sufficient for the pups, so I will need to do more investigating. Thanks everyone for answering and letting me know I have an issue here that needs to be addressed quickly ...
  15. Its just really odd, well at least I thought it was weird ... Maybe my previous litters of wormy pups were abnormal, and finally I have a normal litter !!! AdoubleJ we always worm Mum sometime in the last week or two as well, and still I have worms ...
  16. I have a litter of just over 7 week old Basenji's and they have been wormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks, and I have not seen a worm at all ... I dont breed often and we have had a few ACD litters and 1 previous Basenji litter, and all the pups had worms at some stage during their growth... Just wondering if I have an odd litter now, or do most people have litters with no worms ???
  17. Before... I have Kylies down and her bedding on top. During... I use about 1 000 000 Kylies while she is whelping, plus newspapers, incase she misses the Kylies. After... Newspapers on the bottom, then vetbed covering the whole whelping box. When the pups are about 4 weeks, vetbed over about 2/3rds of the whelping box, and newspaper for them toileting...
  18. Thank you very much ... I forgot to come back and check ...
  19. Boronia, it is Natures Way, High Strength Vitamin E 1000 IU...
  20. I have 4 adult Basenji's who ALL do the puke if they are not fed pretty much 12 hours apart. If I leave dinner a little too late, (as I did last night), I have 2, especially, who need to go out and do an 'empty tummy vomit' as I call it... Just a bile puke, and a BIG reminder to me that their dinner is late ... Basenjis are notorious for this, I think most Aussie lines have it in them... I always give a small handful of food if they have had a vomit, they always eat it, vomiting stops... Perhaps your boy needs the handful of dry you are giving him before bedtime ??? Was also thinking it might be an idea to feed his dinner closer to 8.30-9pm, getting it closer to 12 hours apart, and see if this stop the vomiting ??? Good luck...
  21. I cant for the life of me remember what the quantity of Vitamin E is I need to add to my dogs dinner ??? I threw out my last bottle, and just bought a new one, (which is a different brand), and I cant remember what the doseage was. The bottle I have now is 1000 IU My guys are Basenji's, about 10ish kgs... Can anyone in the know, let me know please :) ...
  22. Michelleva, Wondering if you could give me the details of the Martha Stewart pattern you used, please ??? :) ...
  23. Yes Ive had 2 tail chasers, both well bred ACD's, not related... Didnt realise the problem even existed in my first spinner, thought it was cute, and didnt worry about it. Eventually had to have his tail amputated. I did use him at stud, in ignorance, but as far as I was able to ascertain, I dont think he produced any pups with it, but, I really cant be at all definate about that... After his tail was removed, he continued to spin, but thats all he did, it never eventuated into anything else, thank goodness ... The second dog was just recently, another male. He was being shown, and his career was unfortunately cut short. Tried everything with him, medication, behavior modification etc, etc. Nothing worked. Had to have half his tail removed, then he spun tighter circles, (very much regreted not removing his whole tail the first time), so had the rest removed in a second surgery... Thankfully he also hasnt exhibited any more disturbing traits, and he has been pet homed, to a wonderful person who says he hardly does it anymore, and if he looks like starting, he is very easily re-directed... Yes he was homed with FULL disclosure of his issue :) ... I truely believe it is an increasing problem in ACD's, just such a shame a lot, (not all), of breeders are burying their heads in the sand on this issue ...
