  1. Just cats and kittens. It's an excellent idea and has been working well.
  2. My shih tzu triggers prey drive more often the older he gets too. A friend stayed with their scotties and one immediately went into terrier mode when she saw him, visited another friend a few weeks ago and their quiet sensible dog started acting suspiciously. So very carefully planned outings only with my old boy now.
  3. You are sort of screwed if you have a small dog and two dogs attack. It's not so bad if it's not a prey drive based attack because you can distract the dog. But if the sole focus is on your small dog bluff won't always work. I know everyone says don't pick up your small dog but what else can you do if you see a large dog bearing down and the body language indicates it won't respond to a bluff yell. Once a big dog grabs a small one your dog can be fatally injured pretty quickly. I wouldn't advise anyone do this, I can only speak for myself but I would pick my small dog up and try to block with my body and legs. The elderly can't do this but I'd take a calculated risk to save my dog. If on my own I'd do the stand quietly no eye contact thing, unless the bastard was latched on to me already. It really pisses me off that we have to even have these conversations and I solve the problem by not taking my dogs out where there could be a loose dog.
  4. One of the neighbours of the 90 year old said on camera that he wasn't surprised as the dog had been a menace for years.
  5. Ok, I thought it was a reference to my current user name. I am glad you have admitted your part in that awful page and if you can really take on board what people tell you you can make a big contribution in rescue. No more from me on it, but it will take a while before people trust you so get ready for that.
  6. My royal anus? Awesome apology there  I didn't send you emails or messages so you have the wrong person, I do all my talking in public because I like to make sure everyone is aware of what is being said on both sides.
  7. Not someone's finest hour that's for sure  The thing is you can't blame the PR people for your own behaviour, you made choices and they were bad ones. I'm not seeing a lot of genuine personal insight. I hope I'm wrong and next time that very experienced ethical rescues take the time to point you in the right direction you will listen.
  8. Have you taken down that DOL hate page yet? If you really are sorry and want to make amends then be honest. It's no secret it was you, loose lips sink ships.
  9. Sounds like the ranger is taking the easy way out and being liberal with the truth. I don't understand how this is not a clear cut case for a DD declaration. I'm so fed up with people and their loose dogs and how us as responsible dog owners are always the ones being punished.
  10. I'd be asking the ranger (or whoever you speak to) to put their relies in writing. If these dogs aren't a clear cut case to be listed as dangerous dogs I don't know what is, they've already demonstrated their danger by attacking and injuring two dogs
  11. That's the thing, it's not only done by fanatics but the general public who get their information from FB pages like Oscar's Law. Some breeders have walked away because they are tired of being made to feel like criminals. Ordinary people get sucked into this because the message is so emotional and they say the same thing. People have copped lectures while out walking their dog from other ordinary dog owners, not fanatics. If you want to see how widespread this is just test it yourself and look at who responds. It's a big issue because registered breeders have had enough and some are no longer breeding. Soon we'll only have puppy farms, all registered and operating with licenses.
  12. Lots of people get the lecture and some abuse when they say they bought their dog or cat from a breeder. Despite the sometimes token effort to say they aren't against registered breeders from the leaders of the adopt don't shop/shelter dogs die when you buy campaign they don't stop their followers from abusing people. If you don't believe it go on some rescue or animal rights pages and say you bought a purebred dog, see what happens.
  13. The names made me think it wasn't a serious story at first.
  14. Uuum, dude knows they don't really have lion's blood right, maybe he's the Chinese version of Charlie Sheen
  15. Yep, failing to adhere to the license conditions I think is the charge.
  16. Court case still proceeding as far as I know. Mark has been in court as well, of course it's all a conspiracy to silence him
  17. Congrats PME I miss training and Leo hasn't seen stock for a while. At our last training day he was responding well to my quiet commands, we are visiting a property with stock and he is being very rude even though it is only through a fence!
  18. I was only looking at the stars
  19. There are a lot of milky way shots around at the moment and they are quite easy to do, google some as there are a lot that are more spectacular than this one.
