  1. Look at those smiles - they look as though their life is THE BEST
  2. Breed should have nothing to do with it She is most unfortunate to have such a problem, and I would also advise seeing a vet so you can find out what is going on. Video what happens when she walks/runs- to show the vet ...and it may be a good plan to buy a couple of ramps for use with the car/couch etc . Have you asked her breeder at all ?
  3. Is Don ...is making The Boss cranky!
  4. ..and this morning, I was lucky to spot the dorper sheep before old Don! he has a habit of tearing off after them I have been slack , and his recall while minus distraction is perfect - otherwise is non-existent - and he LOVES rounding up the sheep (or trying to bring ONE home) he would have made a decent worker probably . BUT - his mum was/is useless. Thankfully I had a longline handy , and it was clipped on before he realised ;) he is good on the longline, even with Rudoph Rollator ..he knows not to pull too hard , or run circles ;) & we had a reasonable walk anyway Oh - and in a direction AWAY from the sheep ;)
  5. I love the mornings when my 'pack' has a run. Black, white, red merle, blue merle, solid red, all in a dusty blur as they kick up the red sand and fill the air with yips and barks . The youngster gets tackled by the others, and is on the ground in a scuffle , his scruff being pulled in two directions! Someone is rolling luxuriously in a patch of smelly dirt , and someone else is busy emptying his bladder onto a small bush. There is a blur of red as the two girls play speed racers along the track , coming to a skidding halt in the shade, and both going frog-legged in a shady spot , tongues lolling and a wide grin on their faces. I am mugged by an old boy seeking treats - showing me that he DOES remember how to lie down, and wait to eat when told ....and that , aside from that he is just wonderful...then a few more noses appear, sniffing hopefully The youngster is up & running , being tackled, this time by three adults - and there is such a joyous scuffle! Every so often someone comes & checks on me , then goes back to the game, or ranges a way away to sniff a pile of rabbit droppings, or leave their own mark . When we head back to the house everyone is happy , no one complains - and the day is off to a good start. I am not one for 'training'.. as a hobby or whatever - I just enjoy being around dogs as they do their thing
  6. It is so scary We are very fortunate here - no ticks , and only the rabbit fleas in Summer to worry about (permethrin sprays or locally dabbed on malawsh) Advantage for puppies with no ill effects . I think I would be a panicky dog owner if I lived in a tick area
  7. poor Hugo - he must be feeling rotten, with a temperature & all Hope it clears up SOON !Sounds a nasty bug !
  8. I'm with Sandgrubber . KC is an irritation of the trachea mainly, and bronchioles - and so has a dry irritating cough , usually mucous free. Antibiotics may mean he has a chest infection on top of/stemming from , the KC , as mucous also suggests. I'd possibly be checking with the vet again , mentioning the muck he's coughing up.
  9. I don't understand this ? What does only having 2 litters do with their hormones?
  10. Oh wow! WELCOME, JINX !! You will have a ball living with this lot (and just look at how those kids have shot up! !! ) isn't he wonderful Now there'll be mischief LOL
  11. Sometimes men think with something other than their brain. What a dangerous and dumb act. Partner will hopefully be in the 'doghouse' for some time after that little trick!! I am presuming said partner was brain-impaired /drunk , in which case do NOT trust him to make good decisions when drunk.
  12. How are you getting him to drink, which is much more important than feeding? I also suggest a vet check ...
  13. How Excitement! ( plus you get audiobook-listening time ;) ) I love Crumpet-the-camel!! Looks as though you'll be a very bust lady ...what with the two places. Exotics will make it a bit more interesting
  14. If there's an increase in the risk of cancer (AFAIK)it would be because of her age in general, not because of her being speyed.
  15. Wouldn't have a clue about kcals! if they are looking lean - up the food ... too broad, lessen the food .....
  16. Awww...smoochy camels Thabnks for sharing photos - Moo looks happy - as do they all! Looks a nice place they live at , if everyone is so relaxed & smoochy .
  17. I wouldn't - what if she decided she didn't want pup in the car? Plus, as said, she would not be allowed at the breeders anyhow - well, shouldn't be allowed onto their property - I certainly wouldn't allow her onto the property ... Can someone not take her for a short walk as soon as you get home , allowing puppy to have a look around , and for her to get rid of some excitement ?
  18. I bet they have!! We actually have had very few bird losses this year ( except the almonds and plums ) Quinces are still intact, which is odd - normall there are just cores at this time . I actually managed to eat some pears too!
  19. errmm... @PossumCorner Trubs gets the 'cooked-on-the -tree' ones mostly . That sound better ? ;) Our tree was loaded this year - we ate lots! I'm not domestic- so no jam - just eating fresh every day ....Hope yours are yummy when they ripen.
