  1. Wouldn't have a clue about kcals! if they are looking lean - up the food ... too broad, lessen the food .....
  2. Awww...smoochy camels Thabnks for sharing photos - Moo looks happy - as do they all! Looks a nice place they live at , if everyone is so relaxed & smoochy .
  3. I wouldn't - what if she decided she didn't want pup in the car? Plus, as said, she would not be allowed at the breeders anyhow - well, shouldn't be allowed onto their property - I certainly wouldn't allow her onto the property ... Can someone not take her for a short walk as soon as you get home , allowing puppy to have a look around , and for her to get rid of some excitement ?
  4. I bet they have!! We actually have had very few bird losses this year ( except the almonds and plums ) Quinces are still intact, which is odd - normall there are just cores at this time . I actually managed to eat some pears too!
  5. errmm... @PossumCorner Trubs gets the 'cooked-on-the -tree' ones mostly . That sound better ? ;) Our tree was loaded this year - we ate lots! I'm not domestic- so no jam - just eating fresh every day ....Hope yours are yummy when they ripen.
  6. Looking a bit "lion-Kingish" Oh Dear Hope nothing too nasty At least he was trying to help .... bruddy teenagers!
  7. I bet you do The last of the Mohicans, really . Sending thoughts & love your way - & skritches for Mis Sooty
  8. Doesn't have to be 'human-grade' food- but when our guys get prey-type food - droppings are definitely few & far between - unlike the kibble feedings - it just makes sense.
  9. I was going to feed Trouble-Pig last night , when someone smelt figs in her feed bucket ;) crappy, but fun phone pix ;)
  10. I think it highly desirable when the stud dog is older and has creaky joints but is still keen and fertile !
  11. Just to say Welcome Spunky sounds a Very Lucky ShihTzu indeed!! @Loving my Oldies sounds right up your street
  12. Not sure for the the first part ....and ringworm can only be in one spot , for the second ... it was just a thought ;)
  13. next thing - are you SURE that's where the needle was put in ? It's not a patch of ringworm exposed by the shaving ? Ringworm is a fungus which causes circular hair loss /scabby patches in most mammals(humans included) It is transferred amongst species .Diagnosed by vet . *shrugs* just guessing..cos it's weird.
  14. That is strange. is the rest of her skin the same colour? perhaps she had some reaction to whatever they 'cleaned/disinfected' the skin with before inserting the needle?
  15. IMO useless to try for any legal resolution . What are you alleging ? You are both mistaken here- nothing to do with birth - it is when the puppy is being "put together" and things do not form correctly .As for feeding the wrong food - for someone who breeds dogs , her knowledge of anatomy/physiology is a bit sketchy. , She probably had no idea that the genetic lottery had thrown such a wobbly in one of her pups. No way she could have known in the normal scheme of things .
  16. I agree with this .Especially the first sentence . Things happen.
  17. Gee, he looks lovely Thank you for the pics It's great watching him mature
  18. Lucky he didn't have a beanbag!! LOL Dogs here just sleep on opshop towels/blankets etc ..less in Summer, more in Winter ps...it's about time for another "handsome man " photo ;)
  19. Most of you will know the feeling. My eyes haven't stopped watering , and my heart aches. To make matters worse, I have a huge bag of all sorts of yummy gels/mousses/creams etc that I bought for when she came home with a sore mouth . The Boss surprised me - he saw it & said ..."Oh - that's good , you can use that for your kitten " ! Yes- I am thinking of the future , and how difficult it is to be a crazy cat lady with no cat . Tallie will be an impossible set of pawprints to fill though - we were meant to be together , and I really thought we'd be oldies together No hurry ...I'll give the universe a bit of time to make plans . I have nice memories of her at the vets anyway - exploring the consult room with tail up ...sniffing the scales, looking behind the computer...jumping up onto my knee she was as happy as I could hope for, and I will treasure that last few minutes with her . Thank you everyone .
  20. Heartbroken. Shattered, bereft. No more warm body on the sore and paining hip at night - nor companionable purring from the pillow's edge. Neither the soft warmth behind my knees, or those green eyes in the morning light. Clive has no-one to play chasey with inside, and I won't get live mice dropped on my face at stupid o'clock , or find bird feathers on my sheets from an impenetrable outside enclosure? Tallie- you were so placid and friendly even at the vets, left to roam the consulting room , they loved how you rubbed on their legs, jumped onto the benches and explored , and then sat near the computer . I was happy to leave you for blood tests and a dental with some teeth out as you weren't eating . I came home and there was a phone call asking me to phone back . I knew then what the news was to be ,but it was worse than even I thought , and felt my heart crack open. I gave the lovely vet permission to send you over the bridge , and you will be buried with others from the clinic in a big paddock out of town - sadly not at home - but as your spirit is free, that part doesn't really matter. Love you Tallie -thank you for the 7 years of soul-sharing companionship and purr-therapy . I will miss you terribly every night as I try & sleep ...
