One very photogenic girl :)
-
I think that is true. :)

  priceless... H I'll try & find some photos ..few & far between , but I do have some ..she had legs about 2 inches long, and some hair that was longer .... and the heart of a GSD!

I guess my first 'independent' dog was just after I left school .. bought from teh paper a mini foxie . BUT she was wire haired and had a dachsies' legs ..and was black & tan !! She was also very young, full of mange and had an eye abscess. She was here for about 17 years ...a lot of them she was Mum's dog as I was away working - but in teh beginning we were always together .She was so tiny, I would wrap her up/put her in a bag and take her everywhere ... She was a brilliant watch dog - decided she LOVED working sheep ..would run underneath them ..adored helping out on trucks as sheep were being loaded ... I originally did some training with her around the sheep with her on a fishing rod .. so I could reel her in, etc ( no flexi leashes back then :p ) her friends called her a "Cross between a toothbrush and a meat ant" and toothbrush was her nickname - actually better than her real one ,which was "wreckit" as that was how she looked when I got her

teebs ..Atlas :) Now there was a character!!

Any dog, pretty much, can have a beneficial effect - afraid I don't condone breeding Xbreds specifically for this task ... I have seen both purebred and rspca mutts work wonders with kids living with autism and other things .Everything from a newf down in size :) individual people/situations require individual dog sizes/breeds/coats. Not every family wants/needs a dog with a coat which needs a lot of care, or floppy ears which may lead to ear problems ,

a mini "pharoah hound" :) she's lovely . That's a pretty nice first 'adult' dog , Kirislin.

Glad you have some good memories, trifecta :)
-
That is a VERY nice update!! She will be so pleased to be home :D
-
That's worse news. So sorry , PfL

bugga . Thinking of you ...it's no fun at all .

I really think a vet check would be a plan - just to make sure - also so the vet knows her in case you need urgent treatment/surgery ....
-
if she has not had any vet checks during the pregnancy .. one now would be a good idea, I think :) is it a first litter? How old is she?

Age Appropriate Expectations?
persephone replied to Zarb's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
training recall? with a baby it's easy - she does NOT get food/cuddles/"goodpup" or anything unless she comes to you :) Just everytime you want to pat her/play with her or anything ..use her name :) -
..yes, it's interesting , as our workers are , as a rule, not overly patted etc like a pet house/lap dog - so they see it as a pretty special thing .
-
definitely theirs! :p :)

earlier today I was sitting outside with the pups ..and thought I'd try something. I don't talk to dogs much , except if I want something, or to praise them - so it wasn't such a change ...anyhow , these two know that they do not get patted unless they are sitting - so that's done (most times) .... now Ess is getting very quick at raising a paw to my hand, when it is presented - then she gets patted .Don has been poking my hand with his nose to get his pat - all without a collar, word, or a piece of food - both of them with me together , with other dogs meandering past ....They were just so calm - I may try more like this - very pleasant indeed! Think it is each of us teaching the other ;) They both got a big reward - lying in my arms like babies ..and nodding off for a few minutes ;) the victims of the experiment ....

Stop Barking At Passing By Dogs

agree. Apparently there are only two options in dog training; use a clicker or bash the dog with a 4x2. aaahhh That explains it :) -
