  1. YOIKS ---- I do hope they settle ..and it's unfortunate it seems it could be hereditary .Hope they don't have bad reactions to other things they might encounter.
  2. ouch! perhaps she zigged when she should have zagged? Vet first ..in case..
  3. I probably would freak out a bit as well ... I would be disappointed/worried/angry/confused..and absolutely determined to explore all causalities! Working at a vets we would always get owners phone or visit reporting lumps after vaccs..usually a fibrous lump..pea sized or such ..and it would not be at all painful ... when we used to use certain stitches on certainm dogs they wouldreact with ginormous fluid lumps - often requiring draining ..and ,of course a note on their charts to NOT use that material on/in them again. I do hope the vet realises that this is something which needs much investigating - and of course, fixing . Good luck in teh morning .... poor babies.
  4. it still seems to me a result of injecting something ... being all in such a precise spot . ..and I would be jumping up & down on the vet's doorstep first thing tomorrow !! It is well worth investigation - for a reason of future incidents /reactions to reagents etc when injected with stuff if they get ill ...... poor little mites :( That is just awful ..that much swelling will be causing some damage to cells of all sorts :*(
  5. YOIKS. that is a large sized lump for little bubs Doesn't sound at all like wasp stings ..all in teh same area ..and so large , and just popping up. You would have noticed wasps, surely ..and the stings HURT . Hope they are OK ... Do you have any silver colloid ? put some on the lumps, and in their water, maybe ....
  6. ...ahhh they sound very smart - to totally ignore silly tests ;)
  7. ..nice to see him all growed up! :D
  8. sounds like a reaction to either/both injections ..... No advice, sorry .
  9. rozzie ..no .. but they have BIG mouths and muscles which suffocate /strangle a small animal .....
  10. what size puppy? how far away from you do you want it to be? Formal recall, with a 'heel' or a pup who come belting back to you any old way and screeches to a halt ,smiling and wagging puppies can learn excellent recall at home - in the house/yard without any leash ;) EVERY time you want to pat/feed pup ..call its name - when it comes - it gets praised, and /or rewarded with toy/food EVERY time . EASY :) The thing is - never pat/treat puppy without at least a recall /sit It very soon becomes a good habit :D
  11. ..without seeing the injuries - it is very hard .... size/shape/depth/position all help .
  12. ..and another suggestion may be to pop her on a long line ...this is how I teach our free range puppies out bush :) collar left on ..then one day..a long line while out in a favourite spot ..then a retractable (original ,STRONG)..then a shorter leash . Lots of recalls each stage ....
  13. large feral cat ? It may have latched on..and goat rushed, perhaps breaking its neck? Large cats here take kid goats ..one I rescued had been grabbed from a cat who had it by the shoulders !
  14. Firstly - your dogs will need to have a blood test BEFORE starting a heartworm preventative - as it can be very dangerous if worms are present in teh heart, and medication kills them . I cannot help with best tick prevention , or much else , sorry. If you stop at truckstops along the way - the dogs should not have any problem with fleas etc :) Hope the vet records go with you as well- happy moving!
  15. This widget is about 6 or so now ... :)
