  1. methinks that BB's technique would not suit dogs barking because of anxiety or uncertain-ness at all . It's pretty 'in your face' .
  2. is he drinking ? How is his behaviour generally? if he isn't drinking much - he needs the vet ASAP . I would suggest a vet visit anyhow- not eating for more than a day or so needs checking.
  3. from 'a clean incision' to being bashed with a heavy instrument ... Ok... poor poor dog. :(
  4. hopefully he will be healing well. that is one horrible emergency , bloat
  5. it does say sold without papers .. not that they aren't registered ... I have not much idea how this works, or the legalities ...... They give a lot of identifying details , and have put in a lot of work ...and pups are cute :)
  6. It's a very big change, WM.... change in routines- all different smells... no nice big 'dog park' different dog neighbours and street sounds - unsettling for all . Early days ..but it will be a shame if barking happens
  7. all I can say is what I saw several times when the vet I worked for did this op :) It was amazing just how it eased the pain! They had a bit of leg missing - but looked happier . He used to do it 'with a very small incision .. and it amazed me each time at how well the dogs recovered .
  8. I'd bark too ,having left doggie heaven for a strange courtyard :p ;) No suggestions, just breathe ... and I hope you can find out who/what ...
  9. Could have been a 'caught on/in - fence accident .. Poor Bella - whichever way she died .
  10. ..if a dog here is not 100%( as long as they do not have a tummy bug) they get all sorts of different things until they're well again - first thing is lots of raw .. then depending on the dog - they also get treats of cat food , eggs , scrambled .., peanut butter sandwiches are always a popular breakfast ..fresh rabbit halves ...table scraps ..
  11. Hi rescue remedy is great - BUT it needs to be given/applied every 1/2 hr or so. Do you know why your dogs are barking? How is their hearing/eyesight? has anything changed? It may be that they are now older and losing touch with their world ..we have a 13 yr old who sometimes hears someone else barking .. starts barking..then keeps on , as she doesn't know when the others stop if they are left outside .. perhaps leave them indoors - with an indoor loo and a radio on?
  12. http://www.pawbonito.com/inspirational-speech-about-dogs/ I can not embed it ...5 tries and no success. Sorry.
  13. he is looking SO good :)
  14. Definitely worth a check with a vet who is good diagnosing joint/skeletal things :)
  15. I have similar views , M U P .... Of course it's hard from the other side of the screen .. and retribution scares the ****out of me . the O P is very young, and a first time dog owner - I so hope it does all work out well for them, and Daisy-next-door - it would be a scary thing for the O P to watch/listen to.. Hopefully there will be a positive update .
  16. Boronia - what a good idea! :)
  17. Understandable .. all filed under 'health' :)
  18. not saying that - rather being devil's advocate . Without evidence , reports/gossip can go wrong , and my main concern here is that if the man 'just' gets chatted .... and there is no sign of something he can be charged with ... that he will take out his anger/frustration on his poor dog .. or the OP's dogs ....and that is not anything to rush into. I asked about the dog's appearance /behaviour - as any injury/ problem would be solid evidence to something happening. If the owner did kick the dog with force - yes there would be pretty severe injuries . The poor dog would need an intervention to get help, and he could then have a case to answer. NOT condoning, rather trying to understand and project ... (or something )
  19. Very scary! take your pup to the vet ASAP One, to get him checked thoroughly , and, two, to have a record of the attack in writing. yes, contact council . Hope your boy is ok :)
