  1. I bet ...if dogs can think like this , that she would want you to be happy :)
  2. a bit scary for you ... Glad she seems OK now . My first thought was some sort of disk/nerve pain or something sharp & very sore ..next thought was a seizure ...
  3. :) Welcome. So sorry your old girl is gone .. here are some breeders who might be able to help in your search ... have fun! CLICK HERE
  4. Could it be some muscular problem ? I can't remember if rheumatoid arthritis has been mentioned? I so hope at least she gets a bit more comfortable this week :)
  5. padraic.. I am so sorry that you now have your own health to worry about as well as lottie ... a guinea pig pair in a dog proof hutch may provide something for Lottie to investigate ..some novelty ..sight/sound/scent are all there :) Lots of Rescue Remedy and also perhaps some kinesiology for you . to assist in assimilating all this ....and maybe someone like THIS for Lottie. be kind to yourself.
  6. ..it's such a constant concern..... hope you can find her some relief :)
  7. I have no idea ..but after Mitch had a session ..he would be much more relaxed and chilled and didn't scratch anywhere near as much ..so his scratching probably had an anxiety base as well ... The other thing I tried , with a holistic vet was injections of vit. C that seemed to be soothing as well ... but back then (1980's) it was a tad like witchcraft :p
  8. hey - big Troy handles this FORUM .. a cute black slug will hold no fear :)
  9. he is definitely a 'Troy' :) I just love puppies at slug stage :)
  10. I may be wrong b -but AFAIK , --and we have used it for many years in human use-- ..there is NO potassium or Sodium chloride ..it is magnesium sulfate ... a warning - epsom salts can cause diarrhoea if ingested.. that is one of it's uses ... it can be dangerous if used incorrectly ..as it causes much moisture to be absorbed back into the bowel ..so the body tissues are left without. and that is entirely up to you :) It is your decision to have allergy tests done .. It is your decision to go to a dermatologist It is your decision to get blood tests done to test for any problems It is your decision to accept or refuse medication which may ease your dogs discomfort ... It is also your decision to ask another vet , if you feel the one you use isn't helping. Hopefully you find the cause ..and help, soon :) For many years I lived with an itcher ..he was found to be allergic to food colourings/grass pollen & other things . he lived happily for another 10/11 years on carefully timed doses of anti histamine/cortisone ...and also was helped by occasional chiropractic adjustments .
  11. Oh, lord.... she's possibly bruised as well then...
  12. OH I feel so bad for her, and you ..and hope that whatever blood tests etc you can get will show SOMETHING ....
  13. Ping..that's an amazing bright bug :) :) Well caught!
  14. IF it is a protein ..then, until you know exactly which one .. changing foods may not help ....
  15. Allergy to Grains /pollen/shampoo/food colouring/.certain meat proteins .... Agree with using as little chemicals on/in him as possible .. try the calendula tea ..and remove all grains from his food .This may take some weeks to work .. Not all dogs are itchy with fleas ..but a LOT of dogs are itchy because of food allergies :) Oh.. has he been tested for a yeast infection ? What anti- itch medications or anti histamines has he been on?
  16. ..just thinking on all this .. do Sibes do well as apartment dogs, with no yard etc ?
  17. if it labelled the same, and has the same manufacturer name on ..it is the same :)
  18. He sounds as if his owners have done right by him ..as he is well mannered and socialised , good teeth, and possible harness marks :) I am hoping he finds them again..or that we see him more frequently on D O L . :)
  19. ..although he does need to learn to be independent ... and they need to gradually teach him to stay outside to eat his food , to stay outside and spend time chewing on a monster bone ..or digging for treats in a sandpit ...outside & alone = REALLY GOOD FOOD & things :)
  20. I would recommend you get her hormone levels checked ..so you know then what's happening :)
