1. Thanks ... but she likes giving them a bedtime snack :) ..maybe just a small ball of mince , then?
2. this has no salt. it is dried lentils, dried yellow split peas, barley grains ...... nothing else. Sodium is 4 milligrams/100grams
3. A friend has lost their job ..and has several small fluffies at home . they have had supercoat ad lib ..always have ,and do well on it . They also used to get roo fresh ..chicken necks , eggs ... eggs are not a problem ..chooks lay well :) There was a suggestion ,as well as some supercoat , to cook that packet 'soup mix'..lentils/barley /peas with veges , garlic & a small amount of roo mince for the bedtime snack. These dogs are not overweight ... .no allergies or anything that I know of ... I was not sure about too many lentils, etc ...has anyone ever used this for dogs? They would mostly be getting the dry ... I thought perhaps large tins of nature's gift given as a 'snack' might be economical, or am I wrong? Thanks :)
4. :0 here I have to use the plastic coated metal stuff - clothesline?..and always have it attached 'round my waist on something with a bit of 'give' ..so I can still use walking stick & camera!! Anything fabric/woven/rubber collects prickles, burrs & associated sharp things
5.
yes it is yummy, but it is fat ..and some dogs have been quite ill from eating it ..their pancreas suffers.
6. Hope all goes well at the vets ...and that she just needs R&R for a while :)
7. be Strong ..... stay away from that first look! This arrangement does mean that he is not really 'yours' ..the breeder is getting a home and full care for a dog that she will be earning money from.
8. A big 'dinosaur' bone .. invest in a good solid treat ball ..and put her kibble meal in there :) make her 'iceblocks' an icecream container with chicken stock ..or plain water... .Into this put some apple slices, a few liver treats, a few pieces of kibble, a few pieces of cheese , and maybe a chicken wing Freeze solid..and give the whole thing to her when you leave :)
9. dear Old Boy . I am guessing his owners though that fleas were on his body- not his head ..and so put the collar near the fleas :)
10. Hmmm.. One very active dog ....plus another one to keep her awake = possible mass destruction/increased noise . Your girl will possibly LOVE a friend- but can your house/neighbours cope?
11.
Agreed puppies licking a lot/all over ..first thing that comes to mind is stress, then a yeast infection...which would also make a 'smell' Saliva on fur also = smell. What did the vet say when you told them about all the licking? poor Teddy being so new/clingy/scared of males... now this bad groomer experience . he probably would have been MUCH more relaxed had you gently washed him at home ..on a towel ..just little bits at a time .. lots of rewards ..and always introduce things gradually , rewarding for a moment of relaxation/compliance. You have no idea what happened when the 'breeder' washed/brushed him .he may have been scared there too ..so there may well be quite a bit to repair! Brushing, introduced gradually ..becomes a bonding, relaxing thing ..... make sure you get good advice on the most appropriate brushes/combs....and ask the groomers/owners of dogs with similar coats what they do. Best to get it all comfortable and practised now...you have 12 years or so of it !! :)
12. I have seen it in patients at the vets I worked at .. messy, painful, and generally a very uncomfortable procedure ...but I guess better than abscesses etc. does your dog have lots of edible bone? hard stools can really help..the stools using psyllium are larger, but still softish, compared to stools with a decent amount of digested ground up bone ..and help squeeze things with teh added effort of excreting .
13. probably a cramp ....don't panic ...dogs get cramps, like we do ... hope the vet finds nothing amiss :)
14. No you don't :) Remember dogs have much more sensitive noses/ears ..and can pick up the presence of things like cats/foxes/possums/people/dogs , where humans have no idea!
15.
, and when you train yourself to interact with your puppy using N I L I F , you and she will very quickly learn how to simply and clearly communicate !!
16. I hope the vet visit goes well , and she is back to being a 4 legged friend very soon :)
17. ...and plastic sheeting, when stored may also be subject to sprays of cat urine , or perhaps even dog urine .... several scenarios.. now comes the detective work ..health check/urine test ... try inside where there is no plastic ....and so on.
