I think you have made your decision, and I think it is the right one. If he is a bit clingy, then imagine the joy he and the older couple will be able to give each other You will be anxious , esp. in the first days/weeks after your partner leaves ... and the pup will pick up on this as well. You had a big plan for this little pup ... he was to be your companion , a memory of your partner, security ,a friend..... and now it seems all that is not to be . That's really sad ,and leaves a big hole ........... BUT............. he is a little pup , and there are other dogs who could also fill that space very well... That is no criticism at all............... I have had many dogs ... one was my 'heart' dog , my constant companion ... they ALL have filled a spot in my life and heart- and they ALL have given me their love and loyalty.......and I have never felt guilty about loving a new one after one died - You may well change your mind one day when you see a photo/hear a story /meet a dog who will look into your eyes ...and you will feel that tug on your heartstrings I wish you all the best.

And that is a loooong time if you live in apartments with thin walls . I agree with you about a lot of poodles not being couch potatoes

Providing the vet who is speying her is experienced with doing/interpreting the correct joint Xrays - it should work... ?

This must be so hard for you... and for harper. I know from your posts how much you love him. It would be very hard for a puppy so much involved with people at the breeders have wonderful new owners... then get left alone . He's a baby puppy, and what he's doing is pretty normal ...baby puppies bone very quickly with people... and love having company. My first thought would be to contact a professional trainer/behaviourist (recommended by folks on here) to personally assess the situation and give you help- but doing this before Saturday would be almost impossible now Rehoming may be the best option for you .. it would remove all teh continual worry about neighbours/landlord. Very sad, but perhaps you can get an older dog for a companion? An older dog who is used to being alone ..and who will provide you with comfort and security , without all the 'growing pains' ? Thinking of you ....

The darker the chocolate the more cocoa and teh more theobromine . Milk choc easter eggs/choc biscuits etc are thing layers of usually poor quality.. not much chemical in there to hurt a dog.... Definitely keep an eye open .. hope they are both OK.

That's awful You don't have a printer? Perhaps take a leap, and go to a local printer- not just a camera shop? Someone who will make adjustments and try for a good quality print? if the photos are really bad quality- go back to that shop and let them know you can't use them ! can you post a couple of the originals that didn't print well? Someone may know if you can edit or something

Eat well over the bridge, Chester . Guineas do have their likes/dislikes ..and can fight . Make sure these two now are somewhere sheltered overnight ..and have HEAPS of clean hay /shredded paper in which to tunnel and keep warm

Try pup on some bony lamb flap in a big piece.. so he crunches the bone in those back teeth ... if that doesn't work .. perhaps back to the vet for a yank ;)

I would be at the vets ... and then , if it is an injury from teh groomer - you have a record of it . Hope he feels better soon!

I don't believe in leaving food lying around if there are two dogs . Great idea as a boredom buster for a single dog .. but two dogs have each other to annoy yes- YOU are the boss .. and yes, they will/do have their own hierarchy .. and they will be continually sending out tiny messages to each other as they walk/play /groom It is a natural thing . provided you reinforce with both of them that it is YOUR pack ... that's a very good boundary for them You have a male & a female? It would be very odd, IMO, if they ever had a serious fight over the order .. Your female is still young .. so she will still be on her puppy stage anyway ;) Bitches are often the boss... So .. It may be wise to NOT leave bones/treats etc out if you're not home . Don't try to set up their order yourself ... feeding one first, etc. I would suggest you give them their bones/feed them separately- out of sight of each other, and let them eat in peace ..and don't leave bowls down . treat them both the same as much as possible ..and don't worry too much if one tells the other one off for being rough when playing .. they have to do that

I am curious as to how the dog has access to cutlery/crockery? re: stone gathering .... perhaps have heaps of tennis or other balls around that your pup can collect? And some interactive toys .. like the old soft drink/water bottle ...containing a handful of his kibble ............... plus a BIG meaty bone to chew on I might also try spraying the pebbles near stepping stones with a chili solution , or some vinegar (undiluted) ...

Don't The Rules Apply To You Or Something?

in our local shops there is a lady who uses a scooter/gopher ..and her little elderly SWF is always sitting on the scooter . She leaves it tied to the scooter when she does her shopping .. no- one has ever complained ... the little dog hasn't ever put a foot wrong ..it has water when weather is warm.. a coat when weather is cold -
Question About Younger Pup Hurting Older One In Play
persephone replied to cherish's topic in Puppy Chat
and he may not be fully competent in "DOG" . Part of the reason ethical breeders do not rehome puppies until at least 8 weeks is that those latter weeks are spent learning from 'Mum' ..learning just how far to go - learning the language , so to speak..and learning how to play nice. If he is of a more pushy type anyway .. this may not be helping. -

I'm surprised they didn't have someone ... it is surely a job where OH&S is important ... so many things can go wrong
