  1. I think that professional knowledge would help you and the pup She was caged during her developmental time ..and you will benefit from a good assessment and a plan to follow.
  2. Oh.. and Tho I don't know much about it .. I think vomiting, and pain are symptoms of pancreatitis as well .. Hope he's ok very soon
  3. Just remember - IF an obstruction is considered.. a lot of natural materials will not show in Xray .. stuff like fabric/leaves/cork .... Hoping it is 'just' a 24 hour bug , and that some meds & perhaps IV fluids will settle him down for you.
  4. and this no definitive way to diagnose an obstruction If he is still upset and drooling I would be taking him to a vet tonight.
  5. ..there are many other ways . Kicking and shoving just tell me that you may benefit from doing research on how dogs learn/communicate . Kicking and shoving may work, because the dog is then afraid .. it has not actually been disciplined in a lesson .. like a child who may have a messy desk at school . A strap applied to bare legs /hands will no doubt make them careful ..to avoid pain..BUT it will not teach them alternative ways of doing things, OR teach them how a tidy desk can be helpful If you ONLY pat your dog when it is sitting quietly, or standing quietly , and not bouncing ,it will then WANT to be more quiet , cos then it gets a REWARD see? perhaps have a read of this CLICK HERE
  6. Hope you got on ok at the vets
  7. They are in perfect condition Dingoes , AFAIK will not pull down a full grown cow/donkey ..but will take newborns, or the sick or old .they eat lots of small mammals/ground nesting birds, reptiles etc... as well as roos/young emus ...rabbits.
  8. Puppies NEED to run, bark, growl... Dogs are vocal creatures....and this need will stay with them for some time. having two in an apartment would not be my choice, as it could be very restrictive for them make sure they can have their run/play time together - it is essential for development. Talk with the neighbours...perhaps there are times during the day/evening when noise can be enjoyed
  9. Breathe!! Stop googling, and make a vet appointment . Pups/dogs get things, just like human kids... sore throats. a cough, the odd pimple, rashes, tummy upsets....
  10. It is possibly Kennel Cough .. and unrelated to teh pimple .. but a vet visit is the only way to tell
  11. Yes, it looks as if it is the chemical you need to use - not just the Yucca.
  12. So Sorry - she must have been a dear old soul
  13. Not really ... "saying hello" may not be as innocent as it appears to us. It depends on body language ,which is so subtle, often us humans cannot notice! Dog communication can be as simple as a sideways eye flick upon approach !
  14. except that the stinging nettle has tiny hollow hairs and a toxin , causing pain/burning...not really an allergic response . The wandering dew leaves do NOT have such things... (afaik)
  15. Why? was a bacterial infection diagnosed? Giving antibiotics 'just in case' is probably not a wise decision, given how bacteria are becoming resistant . Your next step would be to consult a dermatologist , I think. Being that the rash is on teh relatively less haired parts of the body, I would strongly suspect an allergic reaction... could be pollen or grass, or fungal spores ... all sorts of things can be allergens! problems with skin are often only able to be treated after a long process of exclusions/tests ... best of luck - but give you & your dog the best chance of a speedy diagnosis by seeing a derm.
  16. Aahh.. apologies. It does make things very hard , with no one to actually observe and implement strategies
  17. yes, I will give you advice She could well have missed critical stages in puppy hood where important things like toileting habits, and behaviour around other dogs , are normally learned. Ask folks on here to recommend a very experienced professional in your area, who can assess your dog, and work with you to manage her problems ;)
  18. buckle collar & lead. BUT The person on the handle end of the lead is THE most important training aid NOTHING will work safely and effectively if you do not know how to use it ...
  19. I have used, with success, homeopathy for cats, dogs, myself .. I would not use homeopathy tho for prevention of heartworm/paralysis ticks.
  20. I am sorry you lost your old girl like that If you get another cat ..please also build a secure, dog/cat proof enclosure ...so the cat is NEVER in danger from roaming toms, or dogs at your house/in your yard.
  21. but they don't stay COLD .... like a wrapped icebrick. I have had litters here do very well outdoors in 40 degrees ..with an ice brick or two always available have photos somewhere!
