  1. yes- right at the back..or further down in the throat .. these particular ones 'barley grass' migrate once in a body... If you don't have it growing, you are very lucky link
  2. I am pleased with this one- taken after we received 106 mm rain in 24 hours the other day! raindrop
  3. Love the Wiggles' concert ones So much to look at!
  4. lilli- The acid in a dog;s stomach is amazingly strong! It should get broken down..or if it does rattle around in there, and won't pass thru into the intestine..she will throw it up, most likely . Just keep an eye on her ..and you will now if she is uncomfortable in a day or so .... It's always a worry when this sort of thing happens . My Hamlet scares the bejabers out of me regularly - swallowing whole bones & other stuff . remembering back- my auntie's collie rough used to have a lamb shank every day of her life....
  5. I would still think of a grass seed - they can lodge in the throat - it happens to our dogs .. they swallow, eat grass and lick a bit ....Most times the seed moves..but we have had them get the odd abscess when one stayed put it might be an idea to think of/write down what has happened the past day or so- in case it is anxiety based? A D A P diffuser may be handy when he's feeling ill, anyway- just to help him relax
  6. Oh...What a gift you gave him ..the chance to go quickly, and be happy with his new toys, and the wind in his face Gorgeous boy ....
  7. Druce- keep us posted ... and don't expect a miraculous change he is still a puppy ..you still need to learn much , but during the process you will understand your dog and his needs so much better - and be able to make him a good member of society.
  8. Glad he's settled ..tho I would have given him plain bikkies- not oil Hopefully this is it for another few months
  9. a bad taste on his tongue??? I don't think so. I'd be asking another vet, I think I firmly believe it is nausea causing him to do this . he is feeling awful, feels sick ..and can't do anything about it. Did you try the ginger tablets/oil I suggested last year? did it help? don't correct him- just put him somewhere safe.he can't help it ... and it may make him anxious . It's like correcting yourself when you are sitting with your head hanging over a basin , shivering and retching..... will he eat? Maybe a small SNACK of a couple of bikkies ?Would he drink ginger ale /ginger beer? Just a few laps ? Is he swallowing a lot as well.. or just licking? Any chance he has swallowed a grass awn?
  10. What a beautiful tribute for your boy.
  11. ..and tonsilitis , bit of food/bone caught between teeth...
  12. I often leave food in easy reach... so they can eat when they feel like it, without anxiety for their pups
  13. how about checking back with your vet ?They might like an update, anyway
  14. Oh, sorry, I thought that was why you made the suggestions
  15. Vet check would be my only suggestion.... in case of infection or other problem. Was her post whelp check all ok?
  16. training WILL WORK. No question. Trouble is ,it is YOU who need the training- so then you can teach your dog ;) YOU need to be reading/talking, as you are here, about dog behaviour ...WHAT is the dog doing? WHY is he doing it?HOW do I know what he's thinking? WHEN is the right time to praise/correct.... training is mostly about rewards. dogs are pretty simple- like humans. if we get a reward- if it feels good, or we get food ..we will do it again. and again.... SO your dog needs to get REWARDS for good and calm behaviour .... YOU need to learn how this works - obedience lessons will be useful- but by February ...things may have worsened . NOW, at home ,is when he can learn some better habits , with your help.
  17. Druce- you do not need a chain. A time out area is a pen/room where the dog is away from his pack. this pup does not need further confinemnet via a chain.. he needs education/learning/exercise .. he is just discovering life ...he needs to explore and be taught by YOU how to interact with the world ... A walk every second day is NOT enough.... he needs one or two walks every single day ...short walks- not miles... he is still growing and developing. Yes, I recommend desexing .. but it will not 'cure' lack of training . It will help with him not seeking bitches in season..and being so keen to fight other males.
  18. IMO, neither of these things will be of immediate assistance to a very inexperienced owner of a boisterous stafford puppy! Druce- have a read of these articles- they may give you some answers as to WHY yopur puppy is doing this, and HOW you can learn to manage things ... CLICK HERE CLICK HERE Your pup needs execise, both physical and mental.Your pup needs walks, and obedience sessions in your yard, and good interactive toys. It needs rules, and routine, and rewards Smacking will only make things worse- as you have found . A water spray may work- but get your timing absolutely right! Do not spray when pup is retreating, or just looking at you...
