  1. yes- after reading your post, I moved my screen around, and saw what I think is a white 'cape'.. ;) It could be a very pretty puppy !
  2. yep- if you look back in the parent's breeding, you will probably find the reason for the abundance of white . The white one is at great risk of being deaf , I would think ;) Also, if pigment does not devop on nose leather/pads, they will have to guard against skin cancer/ soft pads... love that third pup's markings
  3. Oh, and ... Perhaps you will see things differently after you have completed your studies ?
  4. I am regularly chastised for saying much worse in person I am very meek online. As said, if you asked me in person I would also say "Remove the cat food, keep your cat confined in a dog proof situation, get evidence, per photos, of the dog/s in your yard, and pester the council until they DO something.!"
  5. "That...kind..of..thing.." have to giggle there. One can do manual stimulation , but, no if a bitch is present ,and the dog is keen, it is not needed.
  6. Sounds like tomcat pee I can't help, really- sorry.
  7. You do not have to wade thru it - just go straight to the forum /thread which interests you! I never read the show stuff, or a few other forums... and couldn't even tell you what the new posts there are called! so- perhaps use the DOL tools available to enable you to only read what you want , and you'll be happy
  8. perhaps not- however, leaving a biscuit feeder on the step is a great reward for wandering dogs/cats
  9. I think that is what 'marketplace ' is for- buying and selling
  10. Pepi- I am so sorry you are feeling very bad :D Your little dog has been fighting such a hard fight these past weeks , and his body was just worn out. The vets were keeping him going for you, but he obviously was very ,very , tired, and had to stop. You no longer have him warm to cuddle, but, after they die, I always like to think of a dog's spirit, romping over the bridge, and racing around, ears flapping in the breeze, smiling, and pain free! I am sure that is a true picture- I honestly believe they ARE somewhere- happy and comfortable forever. Thinking of you - it will be very hard for a while.. it is not your fault, and not the vet's fault. It was Pepi's tiny body that badly needed a rest ,and it was his time. Take care
  11. What a wonderful story! Thank you.
  12. Buying a puppy in a hurry is probably not a good plan ;) Lines need to be researched, and you need to do your homework with regard to the breed's requirements , etc. Hope you eventually get a lovely pup eta LINK to available puppies in D O L listings
  13. nicolatu - he is a BABY. babies love being with their family babies get very tired. Babies cannot concentrate on one thing for more than a couple of minutes. Please play with him outside - sit outside and have your coffee, let him be with you out there, and let him play. It may help you to pretend to think like a puppy- smells are very important- so are things he hears taste is very important, and texture- all felt with his mouth, as he has no hands!
  14. As for picking up your pup - I once picked up an adult lab I was training, when we were attacked by a very determined GSD. One just reacts in those circumstances- and you did what you thought was the right/safe thing The more I hear of parks, and dog parks in particular, the more the idea worries me I would think they would be places frequented by people who have difficulties walking/controlling their dog/s- the idea being they can let them off to run at the park
  15. Hope it went Ok at the vets, and that you have notified the breeder.
  16. How scary! Glad your pup is ok...and I hope you will now show him some calm leadership when next there is a challenging dog close by.This is the only way he will heal from today's fright..for you not to tense/worry/take evasive action... The owner of that dog sounds as if she needs some serious educating :D Hopefully today has taught her a lesson or three. These days,No Way would I take a baby puppy to a park, especially one where dogs were offlead- there are just too many dangers, both from disease and attacks .
  17. firstly- use a soft plastic/rubber dropper. fill it- then run under warm water to warm stuff inside. secrete it under a cushion, or something ... then get dog lying on his side if possible, pat him, rub his ears, then drop the liquid in... Not do-able? then maybe a head collar would help make him feel a bit more constrained, and allow you to direct his head movements a bit more?
  18. For dig proof flooring, an easy way is lay wire reinforcing mesh on the ground-erect the run over it--- cover with soil/gravel, and 'bob's your uncle'! Drains well, dig proof, and needs no council hoo haa!It is what we use :D
  19. Sorry Molly was hurt, and glad it was not worse. You ,unfortunately, can't rely on 'hope' :D a roofed and floored run is the only solution, it seems. Yes, Guide Dogs are taught to stop (without human cues) at the approach of a vehicle..however, I doubt that would carry over to a dog running wildly along a road. Unfortunately, the more she escapes, the cleverer she will get at working out HOW
