  1. Hi-You have a very large pup, soft bones in a growth phase, and a limp. Not a good combination I would recommend two things- speak to your breeder, and get the pup vet checked/xrayed etc, to find out what the limp is. better to find out now, and be able to adjust diet/exercise accordingly, than to wait, and maybe exacerbate a condition.
  2. Shmoo-------*fingers crossed for Sweep*. Not a good night for you
  3. Our dogs didn't like it...plus they put out more than they put In, I think
  4. Pale gums are not good- I am always wary of an internal bleed .... Hopefully you get some answers soon, shmoo- poor little man
  5. .....and it is still hard for me to even talk about her. My tribute to Sal, written last year Yesterday ,I took the remains of her foal, ozzie, and placed them near her grave.. they are now both bathed in the early morning light,, on the little hill. ozzie was euth'd on his first birthday, due to a hernia, found at castration, and due to him being born premature :D he was my 'cuddlepony'.... and , years on, I miss him, and remember his last evening, standing proud, with the setting sun lighting up his mane and his gorgeous eyelashes.... I remember too, our last hug, and his poor sweaty cheek pressed to mine........ No more horses.... their loss hurts more than the dogs
  6. It won't hurt- but don't be surprised if you notice no difference Hope it DOES help !
  7. rescue remedy is not a 'sedating' treatment- rather it is best used to help with extreme stress- like a dog scared of thunder, or a vet visit, or an injured or very anxious dog.... ..and make sure cuddles are ONLY given when she is being obedient/quiet/still.....and NOT just as you leave her in the crate, or on your return...
  8. That does sound more like kennel cough at present- purely on what I've read ! When Hamlet had a blockage in his gut he certainly vomited frequently, but there was no coughing, just foul smelling sour stomach content he had diarrhoea which was bloody, he was unhappy and hunched occasionally. Not at all interested in food... he was 4 days at the vet total- had parvo test first, then normal Xray- which didn't show anything comclusive, due to the blockage being leaves etc...then a stomach scraping, then barium Xrays, then had surgery to remove the foreign bodies (leaves/sticks)(and a castration) then a few days in hosp on a drip- until he was eating/pooing.. I can't remember the cost- but it was nowhere near $2,ooo.
  9. Oh :p What terrible thing. Poor little Rocky. Hope your Aunty recovers OK.... that's a big shock for an older person's system ;)
  10. What else does she have to occupy her in the yard?
  11. When/if I edit pics properly, I use LR first.PS I only use for creative stuff
  12. By controlled exercise I mean walking on leash... and NOT sniffing, toileting, etc unless you allow it This way her brain gets a workout as well as her muscles!
  13. Basic training is the same for any dog Training can begin at a few weeks old- At present she will be behaving like the teenager she is, I expect- plus she will be still settling in . Have a browse thru the training forum....for different suggestions. main thing is , if you want her to be calm... YOU must be calm, and make sure she has rules which you enforce... lots of controlled exercise(not just free running), and time when you make her stop and relax..either by crating, or having her under control on leash while you watch TV or whatever... all good habits to learn just checked the photo out~ looks a bit like a dobe cross to me......... what an expressive face!
  14. Not advised by me Choking risk stuffed, frozen KONG.. balls large enough to NOT entirely fit in a mouth... some nylabones a cardboard box or three to rip apart
  15. Glad he is being more active Hope he will improve each day now...
  16. For a tiny puppy, just use a plain flat collar. Dog/puppy training is all about "reading" your dog..its body language etc.. and knowing when and how to implement your commands No collar can really help YOU with learning how to do this. A puppy's neck is tiny and fraglie- you do not want to be using any form of 'correction' collar!
  17. buterfly girl- have a read HERE We feed rabbits , whole.. cats & dogs crunch up the bones fine
  18. Glad to hear there is less hassle, AND that he appears to be more comfortable :D
  19. If he gets something up his nose, like hair/dust/fluff ... hayfever .....
  20. A tip - when starting up picasa...... make sure you tell it to NOT search your computer/HD for images ....it will grab everything it finds and copy it ...clogging up your puter tell it to only search certain folders, and you'll be fine. this may help from HERE
  21. Hi. It all depends on your level of expertise, and what you want to do with your photos. If you want to do complicated editing, then photoshop is what you need . However, if you have never used a program such as photoshop before, and want to experience the possibilities before buying.. and want to learn as you go, how to improve lighting, sharpen, add text and effects, crop, remove blemishes/backgrounds.. then the following programs will do this , and FREE ! THIS is what I mostly use. THIS is a power-packed program... capable of all sorts of tricks and THIS is a useful program as well I do occasionally use my photoshop and /or lightroom... but not often.
  22. No real suggestions- maybe ask the vet for a gentle sedative for the first little while? just make sure the crate is wide enough that she can lie down, on her side...and stretch her leg out fully ,if she needs to, so she can get comfortable... Best of luck to her ..happy healing.
