Hi...don't worry ;) The dog will be under anaesthetic, the area on his belly will be shaved and cleaned and , in males with two normal testicles, the op. is quick and very simple.Usually, a cut is made, just in front of the scrotum, and the testicles are then carefully removed thru this cut, which is really only through the skin. The cut is stitched together, injections of antibiotic and painkillers are given, and he will then recover in the hospital.Once he is able to stand up, and is alert, you can take him home! Ok..computer is being fairly cooperative, so here is my latest effort.

Ours have eyes open at around 10 days, and are wobbling around by 3 weeks. personalities? almost from day one!! Certainly by the time their eyes open. The personalities don't change.

I would suggest shorter walks..she is ONLY little...those legs have to work very hard to cover the distance Also , she is still a baby.Don't carry her..just walk a bit less distance.

Yep..vet visit. I had a border collie x who was constantly licking. He was allergic to grass and food colourings. he was also anxious. A chiropractor helped enormously..worked on his shoulder

He doesn't need weetbix ..or the milk, really. there are lots of diet related threads on here..do a search, and have a look around. Dogs are predominately meat eaters..don't reallly need starchy grain foods...they can get some of this starch from veges in small quantities. not using the treaty things...do they have any added salt?This may make him thirsty...drink more, pee more... The reading of your posts also leads me to believe he is kept very warm! Central heating..and the other heat sources...this can make him drink more/pee more, too.Can also keep him JUST on the wrong side of comfortable, too...just a thought. you said.. Hi.. a couple of things.. you said eh was fine at first.... has the pup been vet checked to rule out an infection/mechanical cause for all this peeing? You have a little terrier boy please don't carry him around, or have him fall asleep on your lap He will take this as a signal that he can wrap you around his little spotted paw ! Sorry you are havin so little sleep.. He has also learnt that when he wets in the crate ,mum gives it and him lots of attention! Please get him vet checked first , THEN work on the behaviour. puppies are like us..we go to the loo much more during the day than when we are asleep..when awake, the kidneys work harder...simple. Puppies have very little conscious control, and little bladders, so need to empty it 'NOW"

yep, raw. Just be careful.. I stopped feeding them to hamlet once he was adult..as he tended to swallo a whole neck without chewing, and had trouble a couple of times, with one getting a bit stuck on the way down If you have gulpers, be careful

Aah... Ok. As I said..no dogs in bathrooms here:) They are outside at shower/dressing times. I also would suggest you get a blood test done, and IF it is proven that this is the cause..maybe contact someone to do a story? Maybe lots of other dogs affected?

Good news, but how could it be your deodorant? Does he get it sprayed on him somehow? I haven't read all the thread There is aluminium in door frames, dog bed frames, saucepans, bowls..all sorts of things. Could he have chewed/licked/ ingested it from there, perhaps? I guess, tho, I am speaking from the aspect of our dogs not being in the bathroom where they could be exposed to deodorants & such. Guess it's possible . Hope he continues to improve!

MIl...ask your vet about payments. For a small dog it shouldn't be too expensive.. I had a Koolie boy done during the week...11.5 kg, 6 mths old..only cost around $160...and he was at the surgery for about 4 hours he is now racing around 100%!! Our vet has a scheme..1/2 of the money at time of pickup..then some each week . You need to talk to the practice manager first, and organise terms if they will. ( maybe it doesn't apply to desexing tho? ) best of luck with him

What breed is your boy? From my understanding, it is not proven that 12 mths should be the age. Many here advocate early desexing/castration, to avoid the very things you are happy about! One of ours was done yesterday..6.5 mths. He goes to hisd new home as soon as his stitches are out, and I am pleased that I was able to convince them that he will still be as nice /eager to do things as their other entire males

Yep..he at least stopped with one! Get proper dog-proof weldmesh or something..hotwires, and maybe a bit of shadecloth ..the movement will attract a puppy. He maybe needs a bit more general training, and LOTS of praise for being gentle with the other critters. We have 2 pups currently free-ranging in our yard, with 3 geriatric chooks. ( one of whom sleeps on the ground) Every morning I wake up, expecting to find feathers and dead things..no probs yet. *touch wood* Pups are 6 and 4 mths old. One of our pups used to catch these old chooks, and then carefully place them in a hole, on their backs. the chooks had to be rescued, and were never bruised, even! They now lay eggs in this dog's kennel!! Oh..our dogs are Koolies and koolie crosses.

what will change? well..he will "claim ownership" of anything standing still..he will maybe backchat you, will start to smell, and will have a ravenous appetite, tease the other family members.... Oh..you were asking about the DOG???? Teenage males!! All the same. Time for that vet visit ! Sooner rather than later!

Hope all is ok.. re getting a sample.. a frying pan sounds a bit large! Try a clean soup ladle long handle..and not as big! then into a sterile(boiled and cooled) glass jar.

The products seem to work on humans ok I have only ever used the rescue remedy on dogs..works a treat!

She is doing a good thing..but I agree with trying to re-direct the behaviour to knocking a bell on a spring or something.
