Really Worried About My Cavalier
MissMolly replied to Michelleva's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi Michelle, I wish i had words of wisdom for you... I would think though if it is a muscle issue it would take a few weeks to heal and maybe that is why he is yelping because it hurts.. The hiding away and the panting could be another sign of his pain.. Hope you find out what is wrong with your boy.. -

I have learnt not to tell most people what i spend on my girls as most just don't get it.. This is one of the many reason i have decided to do this, so i will always have my girls with me, no matter where i live.. Hugs to you..

Oh Griff, I wanted to say something that would make you feel better, but nothing can be said to help ease the sort of pain you must be feeling.. Sending hugs to you.. Yours and Banjosmum's post have reinvorced my desicion that this is what i will do with my girls, when my dark time comes.. Hopefully not for years and years..

I went to buy permoxin a while ago to treat my girls with it, (as a spray) and the guy at pet barn said it was dangerous to use on smaller breeds so i didn't get it. Is this true?

I was grooming Miss Charlotte today and i found a small hard lump under her skin it is located near the top of her leg and is about the size of a pea. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow to find out what it is, could it be something serious?? Miss Charlotte is almost 2 and is a cavalier.

We put one of those clear plastic doggie doors in a couple of months ago, and i thought the girls would use it with no worries, as we had another doggie door that they use, BUT only one of them used it straight away with no worries, i had to each the other two how to use it, i had my daughter stand on one side of the door with treats, (something really yummy) and i stood on the other side and we had another holding the door up, and we would call the girl through a few times with the door up, getting a treat from both of us and then we put the door down and called the dog through, you have to be really excited and prasie heap, NOW i did this with the two who wouldn't use the doggie door, but only one started using it on her own, the other still wouldn't go through when the flap was down, she too would sit outside looking in, or inside looking out, so we decided to stop trying to get her to use the door, and it took almost two weeks before one day she just used it, and boy did we praise her and let her know how pleased we were.. Hope all that makes sense...

How terrible! hope your two get through this ok, and i would certainly be taken this further if they are refusing to pay.. Certainly not pet friendly..

My heart is breaking for you and your family and Sophie, I remember reading about her and what you have been through, if i ever need to be, i hope i am as strong as you both were in fighting this battle together, Sophie's battles are now over and she can rest at rainbow's brigde.

Fingers crossed for good news.. Hugs to you and Brodie

His loss then I reckon. I don't think much of the advice you were given. A fair proportion of hounds are not scent hounds and don't tend to roam. It can't happen anyway if your dog is kept in appropriate fencing. I hope you don't think you can let your toy breed pup have free range. I know toys who do both of the things you mention here.. .buggering off and duck chasing. One of my toy breed girls, will run like the wind if she gets out the front door, nose to the ground...

This is why i have yet to enter in my first obedience trail... One day you will look back on this and laugh...
